Australian Cities

Australian Cities is an invaluable app for everybody who lives in or visits any of Australia's capital cities, packed full of information on where to stay, what to see and do, eat and drink, and how to get around - all with in-app web and map display, including the distance from you to the place of interest, and dynamic updates of current and future events from the app's web service. There's even an offline 'Info' button for a brief description, or for when you have no internet connection.

The app provides web and map access to attractions and events, enabling saving of attractions, current and future events to calendar, and sharing information via email, message, text, Facebook and Twitter.

Contains information-packed views for all Australian capital cities plus the Gold Coast - Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Darwin, Gold Coast, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney.

The main views for each city are:
ACCOMMODATION, which presents web page links to a range of accommodation options.

ATTRACTIONS, which presents web page links, maps and offline information for a vast range of attractions in and around your chosen city.

FOOD & DRINK, which presents web page links, maps and offline information for a vast range of dining and drinking experiences in and around your chosen city.

NEWSPAPERS, which presents web page links to popular online newspapers in that city.

REGIONAL MAPS, which displays maps for the city centre and some popular regional centres.

SHOPPING, which presents web page links, maps and offline information for many popular shopping areas.

SUMMARY, which gives a brief overview of the city, such as population, highlights and climate.

TRANSPORT, which presents web page links, maps and offline information for transport options such as airports, car hire, public transport, taxis, private hire and more in and around the city.

WHAT'S ON, with up to 160 current and forthcoming events in and around your chosen city. Updates itself to delete completed events, and downloads new events from the App's web service. Includes sharing event information via Facebook, Twitter, Calendar, Mail and Messaging.

AFL, with up to 160 current and forthcoming AFL fixtures in and around your chosen city. Updates itself to delete completed fixtures, and downloads new fixtures from the App's web service. Includes sharing fixture information via Facebook, Twitter, Calendar, Mail and Messaging.

RUGBY, with up to 160 current and forthcoming Rugby League (NRL) and Rugby Union fixtures in and around your chosen city. Updates itself to delete completed fixtures, and downloads new fixtures from the App's web service. Includes sharing fixture information via Facebook, Twitter, Calendar, Mail and Messaging.

In all cases where maps are presented, you can tap a button for directions via the Maps App.

You can also access the App's Facebook, Twitter and Web pages plus an information screen.

Australian Cities Pro contains advertising, which you can choose to remove via an in-app purchase. This helps to pay for app updates and for maintaining the databases of events.
