About Voice Plus 2.0

Allows you to set rules for which number dialed will use your Google Voice number. Specify rules based on area code or by contacts (using contact groups). No more annoyance of having to press another button when dialing to choose where to call from!

This is an update to the original App (due to issues I could not update the original and had to publish it as a new app).

2.0.0: Should fix force close problems on some devices.

Only supports devices with hard menu keys or default onscreen menu keys. Devices such as the S7 and S7 Edge (2 of the most popular phones on the planet) are not supported. Working around this through accessibility settings is a pain and breaks other, more important functionality. Too bad, I liked the app on my Note 4. Would be happy to use it if the dev added on screen navigation to the app.

Update : reinstalled it and left the dial by area code checked and it works properly. Not sure why but that's def a bug. Tried this app and it won't route calls through Google voice number. My gv app is set to route all calls through gv number and this app still defaults to my main line even though the settings are correct. Quite useless if it doesn't let me route the call like I want.

Great app, gets rid of annoying pop-up to use voice or not to call out. Thx!!! I wish I could give more stars...this app is awesome!!! Works so flawlessly.

I have the same problem others have reported (on a Galaxy S7 w/ Marshmallow). When I open the app, the only thing I see is a header bar that says "Voice Plus" and a message below it, "No Area Codes in area code list." The pictures show a screen with a menu item at the bottom, but this is absent from my screen. I've tried tapping and swiping to get to another (settings) screen, but nothing works.

Set up a Google voice group and main number group in Google contacts, added the appropriate contacts to each group, and now I can just call and it automatically uses the correct number to dial with! EXACTLY WHAT I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR!

U70%
by U####:

You can only select ONE group for using your GV number and ONE group for using your phone's number. That's retarded -_-

Stopped working. Suddenly uses my main number and people I'm calling are very confused

Must be a bug. Just brings up a screen that says no area codes in the list.

Q70%
by Q####:

Just gives me a screen that says no area codes in list. No other functions. I was actually hoping this might let me choose to make some calls from one Google voice number and other calls from a second Google voice number. I'm not sure if that is possible...

A little confusing at first, but works as intended and does what i need. If you don't have a menu button, go to your phone settings and look for accessibility options. There should be one to put on-screen buttons including the missing menu one (3 vertical dots). Open the app, press the menu button, and you're good to go!

Works great on my Samsung Galaxy S2, Samsung Exhibit, LG Leon... *** Note: *** Those without a dedicated menu button... Try pressing and holding the square button (at least on LG LEON / Android Lollipop.

It just says no area codes in this list and isn't doing anything at all

Was trying to setup multiple profiles on TBacUp to no avail but after searching on the subject came across this app and another similar one mentioned in the comments section. Try both of em and the other app, name not worth mentioning, was no where close to this app. Remember to get the 2.0 version.

On my Note 4 in Lollipop, there is no menu button. Since the note 4 doesn't have a hardware menu button, the app is unusable.

Nice to be able to take advantage of this again after the previous version died.

I really prefer selecting gv or not gv at dial time. How to do it with this app?

Try as I might, this did not work. T-Mobile Moto X. The free version of "Voice Choice" does work like a charm. Because I only had to do this for one phone number (a conference call line I dial into regularly), I don't need their paid version.

As others have stated the UI is a little dated and it takes a bit of logic to understand the settings. It's like this: If you want to use GV for most of your calls then uncheck Main Number is Default and set up a group in GMail called No Googe Voice (or something) and select that as Main Group Name. Then add all contacts you don't want to use GV for to that group. On the other hand: If you want to use GV for only a few contacts then select Main Number is Default and set up a group called Google Voice and select that as GV Group Name. Then add your contacts to that group.

I also tried to use the Dial by Groups to use Gvoice as the default but it doesn't work and always dials using the regular number.

I loved this app before the update now I set GV an my default and add my wife cell and home number in man group and disabled an GV group and all my calls go out through regular number

I installed this on my Nexus 5 with Lollipop. Setup is simple enough. Added a GV group with contacts I wanted only to see my GV number. When I tested it on a friends phone, a pop up says "Using Google Voice", cool! But on his phone, it shows my mobile number. If I set GV to use GV for all calls instead, he sees my GV number. This app doesn't do what it's supposed to do.

This app dials out on the main Google Voice trunk lines which aren't your actual Google Voice #. More of the bait and switch. Need to use the Hangouts dialer to get the truly free VoIP calls from Google Voice.

There is no way to access settings for LG G3. All I see is a blank page. Pls fix it and update.

I second Ed Ditlefsen's comment. I don't use dial by area code, instead use my mobile 4 personal and GV for business. Dial by groups just doesn't work. (It even lists same group multiple times - bug). Here's how the logic for groups should be: configure GV to always use it; V+ should check if # being dialed matches either group. If matches GV-Always, pass the call to GV. If matches GV-Never, bypass GV & do mobile dial. If neither, have option to either default to 1 of the options, or prompt to choose.

Installed, uninstalled, installed, and uninstalled again... this app does not do what it says. Setting the solo to not use main number by default does not route calls through GV. Setting up groups results in five instances of them being seen by the app, and placing contacts into a group that always be dialed via GV still doesn't work. Area codes works. Samsung Galaxy S5 w/ 4.2.2.

Finally a way to set Dial Out prefs for Google Voice (so awesome!) but the way the way it does so is tricky (using contact groups & area code filters). Because the UI is unclear on how things work it makes it difficult. However, with some mental work & the instructions (also confusing) it is worth: no longer having the prompt on outbound dialing (tho the prompt is a missing feature when dialing non-contact #s)
