Caldwell Ballistic Chronograph

Will not work on samsung s5. Application used to connect to phone through use of auxiliary. Now after a year and app updates it will not connect. Contacted bitbrands and they sent me a USB cable for the chrono and said it should work. Still wouldn't work, ran the usb analyzer and the phone is fine. Checked all the app permissions on phone, still won't work. Tried on two different devices and wouldn't work on those either. Contacted bitbrands today and he basically said I'm outta luck and that it is an application issue... the app used to work fine with my phone and now because of your updates, it will not... Any help out there?

Great tool. To help with Android's. In settings make sure the compatibility mode is checked. That should solve Samsung issues. Then you'll love it... Would be nice to manually enter altitude, temp and BP if you don't have data connection.

It's effective at the core tasks, but is a bit cumbersome. The biggest drawback is that the app won't rotate to Landscape - which makes use at the range awkward since the audio jack is on the bottom of both my tablet and my phone, and I need to prop my device up to compensate for glare/sunlight. It also lacks the function to move the app to my SD card, which isn't that big of a deal since it's a small app and it will export your data vis csv file or email. For the price of their chronographs the software offers more functionality than I expected, but it begs to be done better. In all, I'm satisfied with the app.

Works great on my Samsung S3. I bought an RCA android tablet just for this app to use at the range. It will synk up however it WILL NOT record the measurments. I used the ear phone jack. I will try with a usb cable and see how it works.

We can't get it to work with Moto z force droid. I am however able to get it working on my ellipsis tablet. Support is nearly impossible to talk to at best. If you do expect canned questions like is your phone on and is Bluetooth on. Give me a break. After we tried just the simple canned fixes I never heard back from support. They even ignore my emails now. Hopefully they get their act together soon. Seems like a good product when it's working.

Kinda disappointed, it doesn't have an option for pictures or anything like the I phone version has, android gets the shaft. And I still have yet to have it work connected to my phone... tried the update, maybe that will help. Checked my phone jack and it won't connect! Even updated the app, and nothing. It connects to my tablet fine, even though the app says it's designed for phones. Guess I'll use my tablet then...

Needs upgraded Doesn't work with Moto Z Force while using the USB C adapter that one would use to plug in earbuds. Keeps getting Communication Errors. Will not log data in app. It used to work with my Motorola Droid Turbo through the earbud jack.

Good app it's working on my Samsung A3 no problem with it and it does all the things it's supposed to. The only thing that I am not keen on is having to email your report so I can print it out.

As others have stated, the smartphone app does not work on Samsung Galaxy phones. I have the S4. If I had known this I would not have ordered the chronograph. The chronograph works just fine however otherwise.

I got a new phone & all my saved data didn't transfer to new one. Bummed but guess I get to shoot all over again.

I am using for archery, would be nice to have a setting for inputting arrow information. I cheated and used total arrow weight for bullet grains.

I haven't used this yet but I'm wondering why there isn't a print option. I'd like to be able to print the data to keep with my reloading records.

Difficult to get synced, then the chronograph unsynced itself somehow and wouldn't sync back up.

I've been using this app with the Caldwell chronograph for almost two years, on two different Android phones. Overall, it's worked very well. I like that it collects temp and pressure, fields to fill in load data, and take pictures too. Besides the app, the actual chronograph works very well also.

Load of rubbish will not connect to galaxy j3.didnt connect to previous phone either.rubbish

Would be much better if a couple of fields for load data were added. Would be much more useful

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 2, and this app doesn't work with it. It used to, but I didn't use the app for a while, and when I tried to use it again, it wouldn't work with the data cable. So I ordered a usb adapter to try the printer port. That worked for exactly two chrono runs, and now it isn't working. I bought this chrono precisely for this app, so it seems that I made a poor decision. I have a lot of Caldwell shooting accessories, but my next chrono will not be a Caldwell.

Tried both my Galaxy S7 and Samsung Tab 2 tablet. Checked and both support usb. Tried Bluetooth on both devices, neither recognized a Bluetooth signal from the chronograph. Guess it is going back to amazon

Keep getting com errors. When you first plug the cord into my Galaxy S7 Active it says it's connected then the com notice comes up then and error box appears. I've tried multiple times to clean the connections. Still doesn't work.

Must use compatibility mode in settings and then it will record from chrono. You will then be able to change other settings like weight, bc etc. Only tested for short time with both, phone had one crash. Will test again

You can't beat it for the price, it's so convenient having it on my BlackBerry DTEK50, easy to print out results and attach them to targets, etc. Highly recommended.

Please integrate folders to place groups into. Also, can you fix the camera, so it's clearer when taking pictures??

Need to be able to save load information prior to heading to the range, that and the ability to reopen a string

This app will not work with my Samsung galaxy s4. But works with my Samsung tab S.

I use this quite often and love the 'share' feature for saved groups. One improvement that I would like to see is the ability to manually enter speeds for those times I forget to press start. My link cable fell apart on one outing (replaced quickly by an amazing customer service department!) And I had to record the speeds the old fashioned way. I missed having all the data provided by the app...but not enough to do all that math myself! Well worth every penny I invested in the chrono.

Good app for a good chrono however I wish it would have a little more features that the iPad and iPhone users enjoy such as being able to pick out bullets with all the data already inputted for you. Also I'm wondering where does the temperature info come from is it from our phones or from the chrono because mine is not accurate from my Galaxy S3 but the iPad is.

Could not get data to display when using the app. Chronograph works great! Chrono came with a cord. What gives? Please help.

Wouldn't work on S5. Updated to 2.30 firmware. Worked once. Then stopped.
