Biblical Archaeology Review for Android
Question, The Bible identifies the life cycles of man, but with who's help. You see, the Bible talks about David killed a giant, could it be possible that the giant was connected to other giants. Even on Easter Island, or those around the world. Their was more than just 1,of course. At various ancient locations, there are many different types of preacient man.Who helped guide man from the dawn of earth's designation in the making. It's funny how things come down, don't come up. They were already here.
Really an amazing resource for pastors.
Terrible navigation of magazine
I got the digital version of BAR so I could read it on my tablet. Among the many flaws in it, there's no way to turn the pages without returning to the cover page and starting over. Most of the time that either freezes the page or goes to a black screen from which the only escape is to turn off the tablet and restart it. I had to uninstall the app and rely on the website.
When reading I resize so it fills the screen of my 10in tablet. But once resized there is no way to turn the pages. So, I have to resize them small again to turn the page. This is very slow and annoying. And page turns themselves are slow to display. I love being able to enlarge the photos and text but it makes for very slow going through the magazine.
Really happy with the app! The buttons to particular articles are really easy to use and make finding content of particular interest simple and quick! I've only had one problem which was that it stopped showing later issues, but that may have been because I filled the memory on my device rather than anything else! A simple freeing up of space and re-installing the app solved the problem completely!
First you need to subscribe to the electronic edition of the magazine and get a password. Then you install the app and sign in. You will get screens showing all issues of the magazine from Jan.-Feb. 2011 to the present, except the app doesn't update when a new issue comes out. So uninstall the app and reinstall the app whenever you want the new issue. When you click on an issue, the wait is excruciating. When you get into an issue and turn a page, the wait is excruciating. The touchscreen commands don't work consistently, but that's pretty much true of all touchscreens and I don't blame the app. Warning: If you tap on an issue and get a list of articles, don't just read the article. Apparently in this process you're fed just one page at a time, excruciatingly slowly. Make sure you download the issue.. I hope that once downloaded, the issue remains on the device, but I wouldn't take bets on it.
Its awesome n use full for everyone
First, I am NOT a subscriber. I wanted to test the app out to see if it would work. Found the app unstable, SUPER tiny icon and controls. Didn't get far before a bad experience with the app. Looking forward to getting to the content!!
Excellent
You have to subscribe why???
Getting much better with every update. Converted my print subscription to a digital one.
Living outside the US, it is impossible to get the print edition in a timely manner, so this app was my best hope. It is extremely frustrating as it force closes about 90% of the time I try to use it. I am unable to download the issues I have already paid for. The digital subscription MAY work on the IPad, bit it's not ready for prime time on Android.
I'm a longtime reader of BAR, but this app is a joke. They offer nothing to non-subscribers to even entice them to subscribe.... And their complete emphasis is on print subscriptions. What about offering digital subscriptions? Some of us tablet users would prefer that.
Dont be put off by this worthless app. The mag it advertises more than lives up to its claims (although the digital version is only available for iPad).
An earlier version of this app had issues, but now I find it works great on both my tablets.

I have only been a subscriber to BAR for a year. When the time came to renew my subscription, I figured I'd go digital. This app is sub-par. For starters, I hate the user interface. For the first ten minutes, I thought that I could only have four issues on my tablet at a time. Turns out you can scroll down to see more, but it isn't immediately obvious. Furthermore, the app has no Settings. There is no customization of any kind. Overall, the interface is functional, but not great. The app cannot download multiple issues simultaneously. If you want to download every issue that is available, you have to search for each manually and download them one at a time. Speaking of downloading, if your tablet has a small internal drive, forget about download numerous issues because these magazines take a lot of space. That's okay, you say, I have a 32 GB SD card. That's great except the app doesn't allow you to move content to an SD card. What kind of reading app with large quantities of digital content available won't let you move that content to an SD card? BAR is a great magazine, but the app has a few quarks that keep it from its full potential.
