Go (Baduk) School for Android
app can still be used with no internet access. For those whiners, have you tried it?
Intrusive ads every 40 seconds...
Far too many ads.
Too many popups
too much ads...
Love the interactive lessons.
Just great. ^__^
Ads appear every minute over the whole screen. Sometimes you end up clicking on them by mistake. The app in itself isn't worth more than any other free go app out there.
Very informative, well structured content to learn go. But way too many advertisements. The chapter on seki has to many wrong displays in the answer section that are confusing.
Seems to be for kids, but I used it to learn the game and I am over 50 yrs old.
Extremely Basic
Helpful to someone completely new to go. Makes the rules clear to understand. Only took off a star because the last section "seki" was glitchy and the questions didn't match the answers. Ad-free paid version would be nice.
If you want to just look at ads and not worry about the game then go ahead and get this app. I get that they make money from ads but when there are so many of them and they get annoying and make people not want to use your app, are you really gaining anything? Also the dating ads are just plain offensive and inappropriate.
The education is okay until it gets to the tests then it gets off the path, with random playing (you need to know who you are playing as or who's turn is it.) your playing or practice mode SHOULD have a computer to play with. That makes it better for individuals to learn from your education.
The app itself is interesting, but I could not really test it because of the adds. Everybody it seems annoyed by the ads, and it looks like they appear at every minute, but to me appeared at every 10 seconds. For how it looks maybe 4 stars is OK, but with all those ads I cannot give more than three. Actually not even a star I would not give, but is about Go, so I encouraged. My advice to the author. One add at the beginning and one at final s more appropriate. If you are really desperate, OK, one at 5 minutes.. Buuuuuuut, after add the app should return where was left. This way you will have some people using it. The way is now is tragic. Nobody will use it, so nobody will see the ads. Or make a paid version. You already worked it, so if you are not contented with less you will have nothing.
Way too frequent pop-ups. Drains the battery for no apparent reason. Got more info online.
Ads in every 10 moves
I'd read a few articles, and wikis online on how to play, but never trully got it. This app, translation and UI issues aside, is a great tool and reference for learning the game.
The ad would pop up then you start all over from the beginning. I saw cartoon then ad then beginner again
Trying to learn to play but five minutes into the first lesson I was already stopped three times to watch a full screen ad. It's impossible to focus on learning when it stops you to watch a commercial every fifteen seconds, especially when sometimes the ads break the game and make you start the lesson over. Don't bother with this app, it's just an ad-filled cash grab.
Just great. ^__^
The ads very frequently interrupt the app...otherwise it would be ok.
This is very fantastic game have the great GUI.And use great logics.
Ads appear every minute over the whole screen. Sometimes you end up clicking on them by mistake. The app in itself isn't worth more than any other free go app out there.
Like game
It doesn't follow Android UI very well (mimics iPhone with onscreen arrows). Back key doesn't do what it should. Exit app dialog is not needed. Random full screen ads reset your position to starting screen. Some text needs English proofreading. Even some graphics in problem answer screens are random and don't show board positions they are explaining... App *is* quite usable regardless of above problems...
I tried to learn Go a few times but never got it completely. This helped a lot.
Very instructive for beginners!!!
This app teaches you the basic of Go which I can understand easily. This app also provide demostration, and let you try out the guide. I tried some other app, but couldn't understand. This app is the best, recommended if you want to learn how to play Go!
Looks like OCR was used for English text. Says "opponent is" everywhere it should say "opponent's" - classic OCR recognition error.
Good for teaching the fundamentals of go. I would recommend fixing basic problems 2 and 3 in saving stones chapter though. Both answers would lead to a ladder if you were playing against most people.
Works, but don't expect good grammar.
Good way to learn the basics.
I hope to see more of such tutorial!
...more practice on things I thought I already knew well.
Sometimes force closed happened
Practice mode is very good for teaching. But it only supports 9 lines. It will be better if it can support 13 and 19 lines.
Just great. ^__^
A few minor glitches, mostly in the final lesson, but otherwise good app for beginners.
