About VicFire
Monitor current fire incidents for Victoria with information sourced from the Metropolitan Fire Brigade (MFB), Country Fire Authority (CFA) and the Department of Environment and Primary Industries (DEPI).
All data is sourced directly from CFA and MFB feeds and is the same information that is provided through other applications such as FireReady and emergency.vic.gov.au.

Be notified of incidents based on any of the following criteria:
-Locality
-Number of appliances
-Call status
-Specific appliance attending
-Within a certain distance of your current location
Warnings in subscribed locations will also be notified. Nearby warnings will automatically be notified.
Please do not use the information section to request information.
The following MFB appliances are not published in the incident feed from the MFB: Rescue, Transporter, Control Unit, BA, Hazmat, Zone Car, Commanders
Please note that the MFB feed sometimes is unavailable or it is frozen.

It's much quicker than FireReady! Great work James. One suggestion: I'd like to base the incident list on incidents closest to my home rather than where I currently am... Maybe that could be based around a selected watch zone?

Best app of its type, however users need to be conscious of copy/ pasting pager messages. It's not illegal to intercept the messages but the fire services frown upon information being reposted , unless it's from their own official public source.

The save button does nothing when trying to set a watch area, therefore you can't set a watch area.

I got banned from comments which is unfair they put the wrong info in when I correct them with my brigade jobs they delete the comments will be removing this app from my devices and so should everyone else -district 8 member -

Every update seems to remove more information that made this app great, was a life saver on black Saturday as the fire ready app was uselessI got away earlier thanks to this app, more information helps public stay out of the way, and less likely to 'sight see'. I have wound the version back to 5 as it was far better, blocked further updates till it returns to a functional informative app again. Case of if it wasn't broke don't fix it.

When the CFA app gives me an alert I go straight to this to see what's going on. The one thing that has gone missing recently is the CFA area for the call, though I might be missing something obvious.

I've traveled many tracks through The High Country over the years and rely on this app everytime before I leave.I need to know about fires over summer as many tracks in there are rough and can take a few hours to get out,I allow 10km per hour in low range in tough terrain. I couldn't care less how many fire trucks attend or dont. I just need to know where the fire is so I can make plans to get out and this app is great at letting me know,Telstra cover a lot of areas along ridgelines,I've also recommended many others use it also..Great Job.

Use this app everyday, and love all the different levels of customisation. Can't say a bad thing about this app. Really appreciate the no BS gui, and how one doesn't have to dig through menus to get information! Would rate 10/5 if I could.
