About Stack Remote

** Stack Remote is not an official app from Stack Exchange. Its a third party application that utilises Stack Exchange API **

Stack Remote is a dedicated android app for the Stack Exchange sites (Stack Overflow, Super User, Server Fault, Stack Exchange, User Experience, Gaming and related websites)

The app uses the ready-only api provided by Stack Exchange to browse view questions and answers on any of the sites from Stack Exchange. Users can also follow tags from particular stacks(sites) and get notified when a new questions is posted on a followed tag. Users have the option to authenticate their accounts and check for inbox messages.

Comments feature now available as the app now runs on Stack Exchange v2.1 API.

Since this is a read only app, you always have the option to go to the website link, where you can post questions, answers.

It's good for reading, but I think it would be nice to be able to ask and answer questions.

Same here. Just get stuck at authorizing application then nothing else. Running SGS2 on ICS 4.0.3 rooted stock.

X70%

Searching for any two terms nets zero results. StackOverflow NEVER has zero results. The non-native UI is a shame and should never have been built.

Funciona solo que no me dio con el Dolphin prueben con el browser predeterminado luego le saldra el stack remote y listo!! . Grandioso!

The second page that opened didn't even re-flow to fit my screen. Poorly developed. The official app is much better!

First, I can't log in to get my personal info. This could be a SE bug, though. Second, the icons are fuzzy, like they're rendered at too small a size (and my screen is smaller than most). Finally, navigation is confusing.

S70%
by S####:

Would be even better if I could link my account but it takes me to a page telling me to login but can't actually get logged in.

I have connected to my account using opera mobile but I can not see my profile for this application, please fix this issue

S70%
by S####:

I've used 2 browsers (stock and Dolphin HD), cleared cookies/cache/etc, and I get stuck on "Authorizing Application". Also, you should make it so you can post comments, answer, vote up/down/etc.

G70%

Possibly the best one out there, but seriously needs higher resolution art and tablet support. It's just ugly.

S70%
by S####:

latest section doesn't display the latest question on the site, and it doesn't display all post info. I think I should not go to the web site to see post info. It should be an alternative for the website. Going to website for posting a question or answer will be fine Another problem ,it opens the same activity(screen) more than once and doesn't kill the old one

S70%
by S####:

Crashes way too often (I can barely view a question between the crashes).

S70%
by S####:

This app isn't perfect, but I use it all the time without any problems.

S70%
by S####:

Of course its read only, but seems to be the better stack exchange app on the market, being cost free & ad free earns it an additional thumbs up

S70%
by S####:

I've tried logging in every way using multiple browsers with cookies on and all that stuff, but no matter what it just sits on the screen saying "Authorizing Application". Please fix! HTC EVO 4G running stock 2.3.5

J70%
by J####:

Between times running the app it dropped all the stacks I had added. No error message or stack trace to send back to the developer - they simply disappeared. Fix issues like that and it's an otherwise great app.

S70%

Nice to be able to browse through all the posts. But can't see full comments and can't figure out how to bookmark a question...

App design is amazing, much better than the official app. Would like an option to sort by tags if it's possible!

Z70%

Smooth and beautiful would be helpful if you could add an offline option to read answers later or perhaps a share option via which we could save it into pocket. Thanks again

I had to check out this app, simply because the reviews where so completely mixed. Some hate the app, while others love it. I don't really like the app that much, but the worst part about it is the really low-res graphics. The app doesn't look anything like the screenshots. It's got a pretty ugly design and a boring icon, while I really like the design and icon in the screenshots. I wonder what happened to the app in the screenshots. Did it never get uploaded to the Play Store? Was it removed for some reason?

L70%

I hadn't used this App in a while, hoping it might improve with time; nope! Stiill the same crap. I'm sorry if it's a harsh review, but if you're gonna pick a backend that serves sites to a large number of developers, then you should know your stuff. This is very poor IMHO

WTF: The thumbnails don't reflect the app. The thumbnails look promising though. As an app that is endorsed, if not developed by, a development focus community this app really lacks polish. Specially when using it on tablets.

Z70%

App actually doesn't look like on this pictures, bad functionality, images are in too low resolution. SoClient is much better. Using Nexus4.

Really great app. Unfortunately Stack Exchange API doesn't allow interactions, but the app is whole as a read-only interface. No complains, really great!
