About Stress Check by Azumio

Stress Check is the most innovative tool available for quantifying your level of psychological or physical stress. By measuring your heart rate through the camera and light features on your Android, Stress Check can estimate your level of stress in real time.

Using Stress Check by Azumio you will be able to:
-Quantify your level of stress
-Determine the effects of different stressors
-Control stress and observe progress
-Reduce chances of certain chronic diseases known to be correlated with stress

Everyone has experienced changes in heart rate before taking an exam, giving a public speech, or when exercising. In fact, not only does your heart rate increase, but the time variations between consecutive heart beats become more random and scattered as well. By analyzing this factor of heart rate variability (HRV), it is possible to estimate your level of stress wherever you are, with no additional hardware.

Analysis of HRV requires heart pulse data to be measured continuously for a certain period of time. The more you use Stress Check, the better the app gets to know you and your heart.

Algorithms used to analyze HRV follow recommendations of European Society of Cardiology (ESC) and the North American Society of Pacing and Electrophysiology (NASPE).

If you consistently observe high levels of stress we recommend using Azumio’s stress relief application, Stress Doctor: a biofeedback app that uses deep a breathing technique for stress reduction.

Stress Check utilizes a method of quantitative stress level assessment developed by Biocom Technologies, a well-known developer of various professional health assessment technologies.

This thing isnt real, it measures how much your phone moves and the color of your finger. I took one test and it said 100% stress level , way to high, calm down. Okay, so then i took another. 28% stress level, low and calm, maintain. I took these right after another in the exact same environment, so there was no factor change. My parents were yelling at each other in the second one. Which should have made my stress level the same in the second test, but they didn't. So DO NOT DOWNLOAD ALL FAKE.

Put your finger on the camera lens not your flash...no wonder your fingers are burnt. Anyway the app based it's result on your heartbeat it could be accurate to a point and always has been accurate with how I'm feeling but if anything its interesting and fun to mess with. There were instructions on what to do when I did it anyway.

The age is wrong, i wont be 22 until next month. The light gets hot toward the end. And i cant log in with my facebook account so it doesnt save my results. :/ awesome for a quick check though

T70%

This app is an absolute pile of rubbish which has no scientific basis. All it does is measure your pulse and assess how steady you can keep your finger. If anything it's a temperature sensitivity test with how hot the LED gets.

Q70%
by Q####:

I'm able to use this to time my recovery after exercise. Some more informative statistics would help. Could you bring some of the HRV stats onto the screen please, rather than just reporting 'stress'. During exercise I hit 100% and when resting get down to 10%. Why not plot a histogram of the heart rate data or give a number with real units?

Q70%
by Q####:

It does work like their other apps. When I first discovered the apps they offer I used them, and this, to encourage myself to quit smoking. I could see the changes overtime of lower heart rates and lower stress levels. Only taking a star off because I have to link the app to my social accounts each time I share to them. This never happened before. But it has presented itself as an obvious bug. Though not any reason to not use the app if you desire! This developer is offering something different here.

It seems cool but, people, don't you find it creepy that it only stores your historical stress levels on THEIR servers and refuses to store locally. Better yet use your facebook login so 'they' know absolutely everything about you. Why does it need my location. My stress is low but our world is scary.

Q70%
by Q####:

They should explain exactly how this works. Otherwise based on permissions it could be just recording video and collecting data from you. I'm no genius but pretty smart and tech savy. With all the different types of cameras and screens I can't see how this can be legit. That being the case seems to be a data collection scheme.

Q70%
by Q####:

Takes a pulse reading from camera sensor. Uses it to determine HRV and gives you a stress level from those measurements. Though no actual imformation on HRV is given and no raw data analysis or r-r intervals displayed to verify it's accurate, like other apps do. All you see is the varying heart rate as the reading is taking place and them an estimation on how stressed you are shown as a percentage. Maybe fun to use, but not all that informative, educational or usefull.

After installing the Instant Heart rate and app on my Samsung SG3, I figured I'd give this one a try. This one is not able to display history, change online settings. Gives me an error Not_found message. It does keep my age settings, but seems to have a conflict when trying to save or share with facebook. Good potential it seems.

I am apparently always under a high state of stress. Even when I'm bored and doing stretches. I don't get the impression that this thing works very well. Couple of times it basically said I was off the chart high. Granted, I was stressed at those times, but really didn't need an app to tell me that. So this is kind of a waste of time.

I haven't had any problems with flash heat. It appears to do a very good job. I will have to compare with other pulse measuring methods. It would be nice to get more data--beats per minute, rhythm, amplitude, and anything else possible.

I am not about to get stressed over some crapp not being able to validate me twitter account. I can see my icon yet it says my profile could not be found. I am sure theybought most of these reviews. It is a useless app. Probably haz spyware.

Q70%
by Q####:

Cool app, but it won't let me enter in a birth year earlier than 1970! If you're going to have option for that, it should be reasonably functional. Dang it...think my stress level just went up!

Q70%
by Q####:

I can monitor my stress levels when feeling life's pressures. When my level is raised I meditate for 5 minutes and take it again and its very low again. Application has become a daily assessment. Very good application and easy to use.

Q70%
by Q####:

Doesn't take into account any medical conditions which may affect your heart rate and is just plain inaccurate. I've suffered from mental illness since I was little, which causes a lot of stress on a person. I'm currently going through a rough spot again and the app says I'm stress free. Hahaha... No.

Q70%
by Q####:

Works really well and gives accurate results. The picture actually shows how pulse changes in your finger. Guys you have to put your finger on the camera lens not on the flash. No issues with burnt finger. The flash becomes jist a little hot and it's not an issue

Q70%
by Q####:

Iam so stressed it is 3:30 a.m . I have fired a lying, drugged out care taker. And this stress test says I have VERY LOW stress. Don't bother downloading it does not work. ---50 stars

I find this useful to see what relaxation techniques help best to reduce stress loads on my body. Note to those complaining about burns: it's not necessary to touch the light, just position your finger in front of it and lightly touch the lens. As long as the lens is seeing light through your skin instead of on your skin, it's good enough.

Q70%
by Q####:

The app works very well for me despite being skeptical like many others. I am surprised by its accuracy. When I'm high strung, it knows and when I meditate , it knows I'm not stressed. Great app for learning to relax. Highly recommend! Thanks Dev!

Q70%
by Q####:

If you do as instructed and lightly hold your finger on the camera lens and hold your phone steady for the full 2 minutes it works great. You can also fix the app (date) to have your age and what sex you are which helps determine your stress level. I use this along with the heart rate app they have. I'm so glad they have these apps!

Q70%
by Q####:

I was not stressed at all the app said that I'm extremely stressed. The flash makes your finger so hot and this takes too long of my time doing nothing....

Q70%
by Q####:

And yea. At least I can know when I will stressed.. but my finger is a bit hot later

Q70%
by Q####:

I am feeling stressed out of my mind. I figured I'd try this app out, partly to distract me, partly to see what it said about my stress. I gave it accurate age and gender info, ran the test, and the result said I had low stress levels. Not helpful.

Q70%
by Q####:

My kid 5years shows high stress having 55%, proved its just mapped stress% with pulse rate. Feels you real but no such logic exists as I myself working on medical equipments and no such equipment discovered..

M70%
by M####:

I couldn't have been under anymore stress at the time I took my measurements but lol somehow the results were the complete opposite of how I was feeling. My stress level was 2% very low.

Q70%
by Q####:

Maybe my stress levels are too high (83% last night) but after only 3 uses, app now won't access the camera, so no measurements. Also, unable to retain simple details like age. Apparently, I'm 0 years old.

Once I feel sick. This app correctly calculates my HRV to be too chaotic. After 10 minutes slow rythmic breathing techniques (using my arm watch needle as guide for 5 second breath in and 5 second out), I manage to lower my stress level on the second reading with this app. I recover from sickness quickly in one day. On the opposite need, such as against sleepiness, I use another hyperventilation breathing technique to increase my alertness.

Q70%

Don't even think of installing this. Flash failed after second attempt at cooking my finger tip. And trust me it's not cheap to replace a flash on a Samsung Note.

R70%

After reading through other reviews, I can say in all fairness that the resulting data is dependent on what phone is being used. This app works correctly with my phone, an LG G2. I do have only one issue with this app: this app's GPS usage is high, even after disabling my phone's GPS. Please fix. -1 star until a fix is issued.

Heartrate is not always related to stress. There are a million different factors. There are also no determined "stress levels". This is basically a heartrate monitor that gives you a percentage instead of actually useful data.

D70%

This used to be better & did work, but you could record a comment with it & save the record. I actually bought the pro version of their heart rate monitor so there were backups & more. NOW, on this app you can make a comment BUT YOU CAN'T SAVE IT. I wrote to the dev. SEVERAL TIMES, THROUGH BOTH APPS. They couldn't be bothered to respond. They had plenty of time, THEY JUST DON'T CARE. Time to find something else - and you should too, and that's the truth.

U70%
by U####:

Faked a fast heartrate and only got stress of 8% I myself are actually extremely stressed and 6% was my average rate, all very low scores that indicate I'm relaxed. I thought it would be fun to try, but if the meter doesn't even go over 10% for me, It's useless and unreliable. My lowest was 2% When I actually relaxed.

I saw the review about the guy who set his phone on his desk and it detected his "pulse". I tried it on my pillow and unless my pillow is actually alive.....well you get the idea....

Wow.. My Ex files false charges and I don't let DFS into my home for an exploratory search, because it violates the 4th Amendment and they take my child on the basis of noncompliance with their investigation... I'm not sleeping and pacing the floors all night and day, but this app claims I am calm? But my bedding, ceiling fan and files compiled for my case are stressed!!! I am immediately taking my ceiling fan down, taking it to a psychiatrist and having it prescribed meds so it doesn't fall apart!!!!

When I sit quietly and breath calmly, the waves are perfect up and down, yet stress level shows- high 86%, when I do the opposite, measuring while walking around, the waves are short, erratic all over, stress level is low 12%. The idea is to have perfect wave, I thought.

I love this app I get stressed a lot so this app let's me know relax. The 1 thing I wish this app had was more info about or facts about stress related symptoms iOS app has it why doesn't the Android app have it

people that say their fingers is geting hot are doing it wrong. you need to place the finger on the camera. not the flash.

Can't change year of birth... put in my year I was born, then hit done... always defaults to 2015... of course a baby would have low stress levels... anybody else have this issue... and no contact info available via app to let them know or ask questions... basically obviously doesn't work if takes data collected and basis it on a 0 year old person..... contact info for supplier of app would be helpful....

The problem I have is that the camera light on my Nexus 4 gets so hot when taking the measurement that it burns my finger, I just can't keep it on there for the full measurement.
