WeatherBug Widget for Android
I'm with the other reviewers. Before the update everything was fine. This new one even gets my home location wrong. It says Glengary WV instead of Gainesboro VA.
Very disappointed with app. Filled with ads, app crashes, won't keep starred locations, app stops responding and the list goes on. I paid for Weatherbug Elite which they eliminated, now want $9.99 for the premium version. You gotta be kidding, get this version fixed first.
For a couple weeks now it's been way off. It's 20 something out now but it says it's 104° with a real feel of 223°F. Please fix.
ENOUGH WITH THE @#$* FULL SCREEN ADS THAT REQUIRE FORCE CLOSING THE APP!!!!!!! Can't even use this anymore, every single time I open it, I see the forecast for under 5 seconds and the screen goes to a "congratulations, you've won a gift card!" Screen. Sometimes I can back out of it, but the damned thing just reloads on me using up data, and still not able to see the weather info. Other times I cannot back out, and am forced to close the app. Fix this NOW or I will be deleting it for good!
All of the sudden a full page ad keeps popping up telling me I've won a reward card. This has ruined a good widget. I'm uninstalling. Developer, you should be ashamed.
Widget doesn't refresh with accurate data. App itself doesn't accurately find it's current location. Don't waste your time downloading.
I liked it okay while it lasted. It didn't have the same weather forecast as the regular weather bug app, and wasn't quite as accurate, but it worked for an out of glance weather forecast with clock. Unfortunately, it has stopped working since my phone updated this morning.
After getting a pop-up box ad that wouldn't go away, a 2nd time, I uninstalled. Done.
There is an ad that keeps popping up that is a "congratulations you're x visitor and you won..." There is no way to exit this ad other than closing the app and reopening, to then have the ad pop-up again. The ad is nothing but complete spam and makes the app completely useless. I love the widget but would like to use the app every once in a while to check the hourly weather, but this ad will not let me do so.
Earth Networks Weatherbug is great. However the widget needs much improvement considering I paid for the Elite version (no ads). But the only widgets are for the free w/ ads. If you use the widget even though you have the Elite version, you'll still get ads & pop ups.
I understand the need for ads, but this is ridiculous. You have ads that won't close out unless you completely exit the app and restart it. Think I will find a new weather app. Becoming very annoyed!
Lately the widget has become unusable due to ads popping up. Used to be great now it sucks. Can't even get the radar without an ad saying I won some gift card or free phone.
The weather icons in the 5 day forecast are so SMALL they can't be seen. I shrank the widget to a couple rows tall. The icons are only recognizable when the widget is 6 or 7 rows tall but the empty space in the rest of the widget is useless. Shrink the time and temp and increase the weather icon. The old Weatherbug widget was much better.
Was great. WAS. Lost favorite widget. Clicking on the new widget ends up somewhere that creates spam (not sure if it opened an app or something web based). Thought I had picked up a virus when it kept popping up. Had to close the window to make it stop popping up. I paid for Weatherbug Elite to get rid of ads. Very disappointed. Wondering if all the 5 stars without a written review are fake or people who were pressured into a review to make pop ups go away. Unistalled.
They get the widgets almost decent in this app; but it doesn't link back to their regular full app. Why they can't get a decent app and decent widgets into a single app is a mystery. Maybe multiple development teams that don't share program code? Whatever the reason, it's the end-user who suffers. It's a missed opportunity by WeatherBug - the widgets from this app combine with the full app experience of their main app would be a winning combination.
6/22/17: App keeps crashing whenever the phone rotates. LG G6. Update 7/23/17: App continues to crash whenever rotating phone to landscape orientation. Can we get the option of changing the font color and ability to display the temp in the notification bar like the older widget please?
You took away the paid version, and expect us to use this garbage? The widget is massive, shows less data, looks worse, and the pop up adds make it unuseable. I'll use the normal apps widget for now but will be looking for a replacement. Makes me sad, I used to love this program/widget
I had an older version of WeatherBug on my old phone and liked it. For the widget to display current conditions, you MUST have location on. Having location on kills my battery and is completely unnecessary. I can tell you what city I am in with a zip code. There is no reason for me to give your app unfettered access to my location.
It would be nice to be able to select location instead of being locked into the local weather. I used to have a series of weatherbug widgets with weather for all the places I regularly traveled to. This doesn't do that, but it would be nice if it did. Pretty widget, otherwise.
I tried downloading this to have access to a better widget than the ones that come with WeatherBugElite. However, clicking on the widget takes me somewhere else. A different and much slower WeatherBug. Why do the 2 not interface together?
It's disappointing. I've been using WeatherBug apps & widgets for years; recommending to others. But this widget and the main app have gone downhill, too far. They were great. Now they are slow and unappealing. Bummer.
Laggy, Riddled with Ads. And I used to have the Elite (pay) version... they screwed me!!! Why did they ever get rid of the old one that looked & worked great and took up less memory!?? This sucks! I will gladly pay for another developer's weather app now. ????
My old weather bug widget used to show the current weather not the forcast for the day and when I'd click it, it would take me to my weatherbug app. Now when I click the widget, it takes me to a different weatherbug app. This one just isn't as great as the weatherbug app. Now my screen is more cluttered because I have the widget AND the ladybug on my screen. I want my old widget back!!!
It has been asking me to "please wait" for an hour. Location services are ON, so I have no idea what it's looking for, but I have no info on the widget other than time and alarm. Added this because I find the weatherbug widget within that app too small. Well, I guess it's better than one that doesn't work at all.!
When you updated my Weatherbug Elite you didn't keep our widget in there so I had to download something similar, made by you, and it had ADs!!! It came with some type of spy ware and it infected my tablet! I've had the ELITE for a few years or more now and it came with the perfect widget, which showed at least 4 days of forecast. I'd love to have it back!
This widget used to connect to the Weatherbug app and I am disappointed that they were separated. Since they have not reunited and if I move the widget fron my list of apps to my sd card it disappears, I will be uninstalling. I have found that by using a true widget of the Weatherbug app and a time/date/alarm widget from my phone, I can get nearly the same info from this false widget/app. I think the developers just got lazy.
The ads that are in between every hour on the hourly view is so annoying. And i hate the fact that the huge widget has to be on the lock screen if you want the temperature to display on the top bar of your home screen. There is no reason why those can't be 2 different customizable interchangeable settings separate from eachother!
I don't really expect ya'll to read this since my last one was never replied to... But here goes.. Although the widget is beautiful, the icons / precipitation % is far too tiny to even read without magnification... The alerts and details screens NEVER load.. Just sit on a white screen and spin.. Therefore making this app purty much useless... Uninstalls
I have this app on my phone as well. I find it very useful and more informative than others. Very cool,i don't use any other weather apps thank you for your attention to detail and professionalism!
That is childish. Clearly, I know my zip code. No, mandating GPS is definitely not necessary to fulfill MY needs. GPS location only serves developer needs. Bye!
App crashes when viewing radar. And it's not very intuitive. I feel like I'm clicking through a lot of menus before finding the info I want. I downloaded this app for the warnings feature and those pages are slow and hard to navigate.
Fantastic newly designed widget with a ton of detailed information! I use it to plan my daily activities and travel plans. Only thing I wish was not having the GPS enabled as a requirement. And I like that you can click through to the great detailed mobile web site!
They get the widgets almost decent in this app; but it doesn't link back to their regular full app. Why they can't get a decent app and decent widgets into a single app is a mystery. Maybe lazy developer? Multiple development teams that don't share program code? Whatever the reason, it's the end-user who suffers. I finally gave up on Weatherbug and went with a different weather provider.
Way to RUIN the best weather app there was. I'm supposed to look at ads when I paid to remove ads? Now I must leave GPS on ALL THE TIME for the widget to work?! I WILL NOT be back, bye bye weatherbug.
I can barely even see the radar, let alone click to the upcoming forecast, due to the ads that pop up every few seconds. I love the app itself but the ads make it almost unusable.
My one complaint about the wearherbug app has always been the lack of a decent looking widget. Now I find this, and it's great, but it opens its own (lite?) version of weatherbug? Why not just merge this into one app or if the full weatherbug app is installed, have it open that instead. Finally get a nice widget, and it's linked to a garbage looking version of the app. C'mon guys.
The app works fine after pressing the widget. But the widget itself, on my home screen, won't work. No updates, even after I hit refresh and messed with settings. I have a Samsung Galaxy Rugby Pro
Just got a full screen ad in the app pretending to be Facebook. No way to get to the widget settings. Ad comes back every time I hit the back button. I refuse to click on fraudulent ads.
This is a great widget. But, when you tap the widget, it doesn't open Weather Bug, but rather it's own app, which is not nearly as good as Weather Bug. This is, if course, so they can add ads and try to sell you things.
