Aviva Drive for Android
Would definitely recommend anyone uses this app before renewing their insurance! I've just managed to save a LOT of money just by having a app run on my phone on my normal every day journeys! Its super easy to use and doesn't use a lot of mobile data. I will be using it again next year!
It's fun trying to beat the app, and it works well enough when it gets any GPS signal. This doesn't always happen, though, in which case it just discards the data. Very hard to make it happy with smooth acceleration and brakes, I have never driven so slow in my life and it wants more. Oh well , the things we do for a good discount.
USE BEFORE YOU GET INSURED! I Took out an insurance policy then downloaded the app. Used the app for a month and saved £400+ on my insurance but had to cancel the original policy...But I got a £100 refund! LOVE THIS APP and it makes you a more attentive driver.
Worked flawlessly After 200 miles will not give me a score. Complained to Aviva as I'm an existing customer. Got nowhere, just like spending all day on hold when I needed to claim following an accident. I've switched insurers now, they are as terrible as when they were Norwich Union. Perhaps they will change there name again Shop around I got better all round deal with high Street brand.
Keeps crashing at the end of journeys and thus not saving them. Have so far driven 560 miles and managed to record 76! Also GPS keeps dropping. Good concept but much more work needed to make it reliable.
Its good tracks journeys very well. Only downside is ive completed a few journeys and the app has then come up with 'there has been an error. Do you want to report or quit' either way you loose that journey which isnt helpful
Records some journeys bit stops working and closes if I try to navigate my way around the app. Like the idea, just needs to work better.
Not a bad app. Shame it force closes too often. Monitored my driving and surprised me at quote price. Cheaper than a lot of prices. Give it a go.
Auto records journeys, so I don't have to remember to set it. Is working well and I'm earning badges quicker than I thought I would. Hopefully I will be saving some money on my car insurance soon
I used the app, but before I could get to 200 miles it lost all my progress and i had to start again. Nearly at 200 again so hopefully it won't do the same thing this time.
Recently installed and on the whole seems like a good app. Not 100% accurate when it comes to automatically recording journeys, also frequently crashes when reviewing a complete journey.
The app consistently crashes on android 7.1 if left running in the background, not monitoring my driving habits and relaunched. Also frequently fails to record journeys saying they are less than 0.5miles.
My GPS keeps dropping out so not getting full benefit and i know i corner smoothly but i think it picks up on potholes... not useful where i live...
App crashes regularly on startup. Constantly loses the GPS signal so needs further tweaks. Other than that, a great idea and gives some good feedback on your driving
Easy and simple to use. Not 100% reliable as sometimes it ends the journey by itself. Other than that it's not a bad app. Still have have another 65 miles to go so fingers crossed.
Good app, easy to use but did seem to crash on Samsung S7 quite often. Been using it for the last 2 weeks and have gained a few medals already.
Very goof app. Peace of mind because is auto records all your travel. Can help you save a lot of money and make you more responsible driver.
M42 jnc 3 to M5 jnc 10...23 miles? I've only just started using it but if they cannot get that right, what chance is there that the speed is correct?
Shyte that promotes poor driving. Not enough analysis is possible with a phone to determine someone's driving ability.
Auto recording is very hit or miss!
Good so far only on 24miles so will be interested to find our my final score and quote. If it works out cheaper will have been well worth it as ap sits in bk ground and is no extra trouble.
Only works properly in a car - if used on motorcycle you are lucky if you get 6out of 10 rating
Its a good app, I haven't done the full 200 miles yet to get a score but I have notices it either misses trips or splits one journey into several if there is traffic
Works well enough. I have 49 miles to complete by Friday, when I call to except my qoute, and fingers crossed earn my 28%. Have seen a lot of people say that they have had the app crash on or around 200miles and they loose all the data, not that I think it will make a difference but I have been taking screen dumps on my phone of my Journey page each evening, in case this happens.. So fingers crossed, have 2 more badges to earn, and 1 of them should be for this review. So here it goes....
Still working my way through the monitored 200miles. Records automatically as I set off which I prefer as I keep my phone out of site as I drive. Awards badges to encourage steady driving with feedback expected at the 200mile mark.
Keeps freezing and doesn't record all journeys. Needs refining.
It's an ok app, BUT they need to sort out being able to transfer your miles onto a new phone when you get one. I'd nearly completed my 200 mile's when i got a new phone. At first i would still take my old phone with me to continue to collect my mile's but half the time i'd forget it. Come on people get this sorted quickly.
I've used about 3 types of drive recording software in the last couple of years & it has room said that Aviva works the best to date for me. Autostart without any inputting. I just remember after arriving at work &am thankfully i never picked a day to emulate an F1 racer. It always records my journey really precisely & it's relatively easy ish to drive carefully enough to get your bages. All-in All its the best I've come across to date. .
No too bad. Few crashes while auto saving.
Nothing for nothing ... Just a marketing ploy of course .... . I scored 9.5 yes 9.5 . I have no convictions --had no claims ever --driven for 40 years--am fit and well--- drive a standard one year old car .Live in a reasonably crime free area Quote === nothing different than that offered by other insurers using Go compare etc . The app is ok but why would you bother ????
Commuting should not just be between certain times it should be to the same place no matter what the time. As done people commute earlier or later than the times shown on the badge and so are unable to be awarded that badge.
The app makes you think about how you drive although cannot detect if you are tailgating, pulling out on other cars, using wrong lanes on roundabouts... It also failed to record any details on braking/cornering resulting in a reduced score for my driving.
Looks and works well only problem I have is remembering yo turn it on. Pity it could not be automatic as once you're droving you cannot take mobile out.
Useful app but not totally reliable. Already insured with Aviva so will be interesting to see the renewal premium based on the apps quote
Driven 250 miles in last 3 days. Keeps telling me my journey was less than 0.5 miles so can't record. Not sure what I'm doing wrong other than pressing 'record journey' incorrectly somehow.
This is a great app but needs a tweek alot of the time it only records half my journeys but I got an OK score so it's OK will see how much I actually save
A bit buggy but otherwise good. Sometimes doesn't do auto record of journeys even though phone is on. Can there be a sync between this and google maps?
In general app is OK, but... Data is stored locally on your phone, so if you reinstall app or change phone whole progress will be lost. Journeys does not save automatically so if you forget to save... your jorney is lost.
It has a bug, every time I set it to record, obviously I'm driving so I don't notice that it doesn't record. When I get to my destination, I find that it doesn't record and says that you've only done 0.5 miles. Obviously my data and GPS was on. So it's the app that's the problem

Overall very easy and simple to use. When you first start using it it auto records so I had to turn that off as I'm not the only one who drives my car. It crashed once on me not recording my drive but that's likely because my phone lost signal. It really helped lower my insurance and didn't take much effort to use.
