It used to be awesome now it sucks. You can't extend rentals, sometimes can't see your current rental. The unlock car option has been removed too. It's basically just to book a car and check points...
I've been renting from avis for almost a year nonstop. it's more convenient to use the app however with the new update it requires a member id and won't let you reserve a car without it. it's harder to find the best rate and use discounts when reserving over the phone
Why do you require a member id and its say optional? Even putting my member id in it still won't give me a quote. I guess you want me to go somewhere else then
Filled out the ridiculously long form to create an account only for the "next" button to remain greyed out. Useless.
Avis tries so hard to be convenient and fails every time. 0/100 score
Update broke the app completely. Can't log in, can't search airports, can't view or reserve. It asks me over and over to phone Avis instead.
Can't always see current rental information, reserving doesn't always go thru or it does but doesn't show you and you wind up double booking. Moving car icon (indicates page loading ) sometimes doesn't go away yet the page is loaded.

OK it being able to select a car, but simply hangs when when you press reserve. Pretty useless. I'm a president club member and rent twice a month so having a great app woild be fantastic for me.
I reserve cars through the app all the time and it works only thing is I can't select a car. I've looked and looked. I don't see any link or tab that allows me to select car and go to it like in the commercials. This is my gripe. Please fix. Happy and Disappointed...
I have tried to logging into my account and I get a message I need to call customer service. I have emailed to customer service and the response was they will send it to marketing. No follow up.
Since installed in October have only been able to open it once....not working on my trip to San Fran in November. ..not working today after they asked me by email to log in....nobody can help at customer service so what's the point?
No matter what date or time all the cars are sold out or the places are closed. Its extremely frustrating nothing works!!!
Mandatory GPS functions to change cars or return don't work even if you're standing in the middle of the lot.
Just open, choose a car, see price expected to pay, reserve, go in store to pick up car and you're gone⇨⇨⇨
It won't even let me register. There's an error message that keeps saying my password and password confirmation doesn't match, which it clearly does...unreal.
Some minor bugs but overall this app is great!

Downloaded the app, tried to sign in with my username and it stated "unable to connect to avis, please call customer service". That was enough for me to delete the app. I don't know what's going on with Avis lately, but customer service, and their rewards program are horrible! I've been a loyal customer (renting 52 weekends a year) for over 7 years and I'm making a switch!
Returning the car from the app resulted in me getting charged an additional day, which resulted in me having to call and speak to rude and condescending rental associate at the counter. I should be able to get a receipt as soon as it's completed in the app.
The first time I started the app it asked for profile info including date of birth but rather than letting me type the date, it popped up a calendar widget with the default October 1991. Not sure how long it would have taken to scroll to the middle of last century, but I quit the app and used my computer to complete the info. Then I was able to start the app. I went to "View My Activity" and when done, I clicked "Log Out". At that point, it asked me if I was sure I wanted to remove all info from the app.
This app was a waste of time. The setup process alone was crazy.... having to scroll forever through the calendar to get to my d.o.b. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Too many unnecessary permissions.
App used to work just fine. Now it won't even let me log in and to top it all off, I can't even search for the airport because it gets stuck trying to load. Bugs all over this app. Username field is stuck in CAPS
It's easy to use, which is nice. My issue is it fails to accomplish most tasks. It'll say it cannot connect, or failed to load. It happens all the time. It also logs me out very often which is annoying. The load times are also very slow compared to any other app. Also I'd like to see them add more than 1 payment source to it. Just one card is silly if you often travel for work. Please read your reviews and fix it. It really needs help.
Pretty much useless. Can never get what I needed done thru the app so I eventually have to go to the worthless website. By far the worst travel company when it comes to rewarding loyalty.
