Smart Geology- Mineral Guide

I like this app. But i feel that more information should incorporated. Example including areas of where specimen's are located throughout the world. And multiple hq pics of different forms that each specimen would better help people who are new to rock hounding and mineral and gem collecting. Also providing information on different rock structures and formations that may give indication of precious stones or minerals. Including what kind of ways to access those minerals along with how to read river's and river beds for precious stone and Minerals. Is something I see very lacking of in almost every app I've downloaded for rock collecting

Very nice app but the pro version opens via beta/ regular free version and does not download separately. Deserves a 5 star after rectifying the problem. Sorry, I dont use facebook!!

Just as the title describes. This app has about 50% of the minerals i look up. It does have the major minerals, but not good if you are a geology major

Must have for any geology student. Especially helpful in mineral identification. Has physical and optical properties of minerals along with Photo even ppl xpl photos of thin section

This app detects.. roughly 90% of my hand specimens. This app is used to detect the best mineral samples so if you have a complex mineral in hand (such as a purple corrundum or dark brown rombohedral tabular Quartz) the identification key might not find what you're looking at with complete accuracy. For the most part however, the key is very effective.

The lack of, the quality and characteristics of the pictures for mineral identification can lead to misidentifying the mineral. By adding more pictures of the various forms of mineral will help with this app. Also, give some details about the mineral. What type of rocks and minerals it is found with and a bit more info that can be diagnostic of the mineral. Check out the audubon book for mineral identification.

The time scale is not country/continent relevant except in the USA. Perhaps a geology major could coincide the USA labels to other countries, eg England, Germany, China, Africa, or even Australia

Why can't you integrate this app with the virtual microscope?? It'll useful for teaching learning and etc

Congratulations! This tool is very useful in the field, in the office, in the lab and also in class. It could be better if its parameters were updated. But it's very good.

This app has all the details on the minerals with good pictures. It is also very simple to use and very useful in identifying a mineral how ever little information you have.

Please include the short terms used in geology. Eg : My,Ga,ppm etc. There are much to be included otherwise its v.useful.
