World Scribe for Android
Almost 5 stars, could use a mode for tablets, but my main concern is an error when trying to backup to drop box. I prefer google drive but i know thats a pain to integrate. However im a bit worried about loosing my work shoild something go wrong since i cant even back up to drop box. Im on a samsung galaxy tab 2 running android 7.0
The app is great, and it has made it much easier to keep notes on NPCs. One minor nitpick: I really dislike that adding an image to an entry in the app creates a new album in my phone's gallery that contains only that one image. Now my gallery is cluttered with dozens of extra albums. Everything else is great, that one thing is just annoying to me.
I love this app, I've never seen anything like it before, and it's perfect for what I need. However, I'm a bit confused about why we have the Dropbox backup if we can't restore it. What's the point of that?
I like the App, it's a little basic for what I'd like, but still better than most others I've tried. I'd love it however if I could customise the text size.
So far I'm enjoying it, but a section for terminology and a section for events would be nice.
Great, simple, works. I really wish there were some basic interface customization. I would pay.
A great app to write out campaign settings. It's easy to use and very organized. The only minus is that it isn't available on PC, so you have to do everything on mobile.
This app is perfect. It is clean, simple, and to the point. It's ideal for novels, screenplays, and roleplays. However, a spiderweb view mode would be nice, as well as a terminology tab, an event tab, and a character trait subsection.
Exactly what I was looking for to design my fantasy campaign setting.
Nice app, would be nice if it had custom tabs. Connection webs would be good too, rather than just adding a little box for each time I connect a smaller concept or location to a larger one. It kind of hurts seeing the same thing over and over again because one city contains multiple districts, and instead of having them all listed in one box it just makes hundreds of new boxes with one entry. Aside from being kinda picky about that, the app is pretty helpful, 4/5 would recommend.
I have looked for a long time for an application that would be able to detail a world of such size as my own, but all the little Mindmap applications either had ads clogging up precious screenspace, or had all the features I needed locked behind a paywall. This application, although not in the format I find easiest to navigate, has done more than all the other apps I've tried combined. It feels like an encyclopedia rather than a bubble of text. Easy to navigate, easy to edit, this app is easily the best app for detailing entire worlds. The only suggestions I could recommend would be a spider chart view, where every article could be a section in a Web, as well as making the snippets side by side instead of a list, so I don't need to scroll past entire pages just to find one. 5/5 stars.
This app is amazing so far. The only thing I am missing is the category events. As I have created my world over a long timespan with multiple events over different ages. The possibility to have subfolders within categories to sort my "Lands" and not have them mixed up with my "Small towns" would also really help.
[Update: very grateful that author continues to update this robust freeware writing tool!] Timeline function & ability to modify connections between elements are still missing but everything else is there for keeping track of world building. Simple, readable outside app and so effective!
An excellent tool for organizing ideas. I hope the developers continue to improve it -- more customization options, like being able to adjust the font size and edit field descriptions, would be greatly appreciated -- but as it stands it's still an enormously useful app.
It's a great tool, especially with all the connections and such. It really needs a timeline though
The app is great but it fail to backup to Dropbox. Would be nice to check the meaning of each term in the app instead of checking the app store page for the information.
Very helpful for organization. Would be nice if it had a timeline though. Would also be helpful to make it available for PC.
Great app, still needs improvement
Great job making this!
This is perfect for my story, where everything intertwines into eachother. It gets me to really question the structure of my world, and it's really helpful in keeping it all organized. Never found an app this useful, seriously, especially not enough to go out of my way to write an incredibly biased review.
It's cool but i just wish all the text wasn't as huge as they are. It makes navigating lots of entries feel like a dogshit Another suggestion would be to be able to create your own categories Also there seem to be bugs with scrolling up and down. Sometimes it's normal and sometimes it's sticky
Superb app. Some suggestions: Make the UI a bit more concise/less space-heavy Custom attributes which will appear for all characters, or all characters in a group Custom pages per world Add Wikipedia-like features: auto cross-linking, references, notes on anything, subcategories
Very focused, and great for how I want to organize my world. However, the UI is huge, and takes up a large chunk of the screen. Will eventually clutter up everything and slow down use.
Loving it! as some have said: Probably one of the best on PlayStore. That being said, we need more features, categories and a neater UI. Other apps have features and this does not, once included, this will definitely take home the cake. Thanks. Looking forward to the improvements.
Immensely helpful, but please consider an option to change the size of the layout. Everything's huge.
This is probably the best worldbuilding app on the play store. The UI is simple, efficient, and easy to navigate, and the connections allow you to easily organize concepts in your world.
A truly kick ass app for creating characters and organizing your worlds. Also great for scene building and RPG game outline/structure builder using a hex map... a very sweet app!!!
Nice app but it sometimes tends to delete all info i wrote on some characters which is frustrating.
Good app, interface and UI is a bit clunky but overall good and unique app.
Pretty good. I like it, but it feels like it is missing like a world upload. So I can upload a map of my world.
Excellent Tool for jotting ideas down for my RPG
Amazing app!
It looks really good so far. Plenty of scope and flexibility, now it needs a little refinement to allow the user to tailor it a little more to their need. Adding/Amending categories would be great. A sync to other devices (phone, tablet, laptop) perhaps a web app? One category I think is missing is an 'Event' category for world events, like a Battle, or founding date for a group or place, these could then be used to create a timeline. A timeline could then help to build a skeleton for a story arc.
I love it, but I think there's so much potential yet to be recognized. For example, I have several different races and animal species(and some flora) in my world, but there's no category that really fits this really well, so for now they're all stuck as a group. Keep up the good work, though! Hopefully you're still working on this.
When you add something as it's picture, let's say, you give a character a picture -- then it resaves the picture you cropped and this picture has it's own folder in my gallery. If resaving is something inevitable, then it'd be nice if they were all grouped together because it takes up unnecessary space. Also it'd be great to have a customizable sections.
After only a few minutes of fumbling around in the app I have figured out the name of several characters and places. I also now have a s**t ton of ideas. This is a great app! *will edit my response if I find things I don't like.
Already nice but would love, if we could add our own categories and rename the existing ones. Additionally i'd be nice to be able to add subcategories to entries and be able to sort by them because categories with a lot of entries can get cluttered. Lastly more options would be awesome like a more compact layout. Great work so far and hope you keep it up
I like the functionality of being able to enter in characters, Concepts items and all of the different categories and subcategories that is a great idea the one thing that I think this app is missing is a flow chart of you so I can see how all the characters in the world interconnect in different ways how the different groups meet through different people and how all the different items are connected to different people and where it touches them and the Snippets that goes along with that.
An incredibly helpful, flexible tool for worldbuilding. It has the capacity to export to Dropbox, or you can draw the well-organized text files directly from the World Scribe folder in your device's external storage. I can't wait to see how this app develops and can't recommend it enough. Thank you to the developer!

I love this app! I have been using it for a while for tabletop rpg's to keep track of NPCs, locations, and items. Now that I'm getting back to my novel, I've been using it for that as well, and then tonight I was trying to think of a way to organize one of my conlangs and could find no better app than this one. Highly recommend for writers, worldbuilders, and GM's!
