Avast Wi-Fi Finder for Android
Gives you the unnecessary notification that your home wifi may be risky daily. Too many adds in app plus Avast need to offer a full service - one price for all mobile apps (and nothing too expensive as although they are nice apps to have they aren't necessary) additionally one price for desktop and mobile versions?
Severely ad-riddled adware that injects ads WITHIN its functions. Dangerous: some ads do INSTALLS!. "Simply turn on the [app] ..." but this app loads on OS startup (cached background process). Always running until terminated due to low memory constraint (unless use sticky option to occupy a notification slot), uses GPS. so drains the battery. Speed and security check options on first/every connect do not work. Cannot download hotspot database (for offline use) to SD card. Help is worthless (no articles). No feedback option.
Just a problem that if solved every thing is ok. "Speed test" and "security test" and other tools just worked in wifi enabled mode! If these tools can be used with other connections then every thing is ok.
Seems to run slow, and not sense other WiFi in close proximity. Constantly says my WiFi at risk then after test it's ok. Constantly wants to run a speed test. Not very useful with other WiFi networks.
I live in an area with very bad signal. This has helped some. Without it I have to either go outside or stand in a window the whole time I am using the phone. At least I can set down now. Thanks
Pure advertising GARBAGE. Not useful at all.....tells me of networks that ate private and known. It should only be showing public, unlocked networks. The ads are straight out of Google junk mail program. Will uninstall....decide for yourself. Spyware and data miner at best¡
If you're normal and have some kind if smartphone then you'll know you don't need apps like these. Phones automatically find WiFi and don't need apps to help... I personally don't understand the meaning of these kinds of apps.
Does the job perfect. No matter if Avast for PC or Android, both are genial ! Eastern Europe (well, Avast home country is Central E rather :) rulez ! Ahoy !
Doesn't show all devices connected to Wi-Fi and doesn't show all available Wi-Fi networks so... I was expecting more from Avast
After many attempts to use this app, it only picks up around 50% of available wifi hot spots that other apps can find. The number of ads is extremely annoying and makes it difficult to use this app easily. Very frustrating.
I am on 8mb download and the speed test says I am getting 13mb my upload is 480kb and the speed test says 6mb. Something seriously wrong with this app
Advise purchasing $6.95 for a year. If you purchase add free it's better. The adds are annoying, however the general apps are really well done the job Avast does works awesome for my security needs.
Avast's integrity is now questionable in my eyes. They are now accepting "trick" advertising from companies like Supo. Don't let your Grandma be tricked by a dishonest ad, as an ad professional, I assure you the approach is not a necessity, so dump um both. Make Grandma proud you support honesty vs common jackasses. I'm uninstalling all 5 Avast products immediately. Too bad, so sad, another good one slips away mad...wake up Avast your a freakin security company.
Dont get me wrong its great at what it does. Works perfect. I would of gave it 5 stars if it had a way to fix issues with the wifi from the app itself
I get confused sometimes using this app. Most features preinstalled and their either similar or slidely different at the end their aiming for the same goal thats what confuses me to decide...
I would recommend all the Avast apps. Keeps my phone free of viruses, secures my personal files, and also tells me which photos are the best. Lots of great features.
Finds nearby wifi and for those hotspots that require registration, this app seems to quickly take me to the registration webpage so I can just click and get online, no drama! Also I like the features to test your connection for security and for speed.
Basically this a good app. However, at the moment it keeps refinding my two networks and asking me to do a security check on it even if it did the same check a few hours ago. Also it does not seem possible to choose the various notifications on my phone. Most of the notifications are grayed out. I have not used the app to hook up to a any free WiFi networks so can not comment on this feature.
So many ads it's ridiculous, but seems to work. Provides easy to use speed tests too.
This app seems to be doing a good job. There's some things I'm not thrilled about, but all in all its a good tool to have.
It is not bad as it seems. Too many Ads. Complicated appearance. Usful.
I am trying your wifi ginder and your not finding anything that I didnt find so I dont see why I need you. I uninstalled this app for that reason bit i was desperate, so here I am again with no wifi connection. I didnt need you to tell me that I cant connect to singtonic 4497 or whatever it is called
Road trip in Florida. No need to use expensive data plans. Just open app, find hot spot and connect. Simple as... download any updates automatically so when offline you can use the app to navigate you to the nearest or preferred hot spot. For me it's a 5☆ app
I know that it's free but the adverts take up the whole of my screen so I cannot see the results. I may as well uninstall and free up some space.
Not Working. It says "Offline Mode Not Available" when I tried to use it. After several tries, I decided to look at the FAQ, but that was unavailable too.
The only issue I have with this app is that it never remembers the password for one of my routers. Why is that?
Nice app, very useful. Would be nice if you get more identifying info on a device or how far or how closefrom your position other devices attached on the wi-fi network are.
Ok for starters. doesn't see my wife's phone. doesn't see my laptop when on its on line and connected to my WiFi network. It's going to take a couple more apps to get all the info I'm interested in
I think that the feature is not as good as i think i am not satisfied with map it is not correct do not show to proper location
It let's me know if internet hackers are hacking In and using it????
My cell phone shows 3 Wi-Fi connections app only shows one
Best app in today lifestyle and stay your phone safe from all unwanted things and antivirus mainly this app is changing the dump life of android and other phone's in world.
Super awesome fun time wifi Hotspot for America number 1 rocketship! (it works very well, in case you can't translate) BING BONG!
No esta bad at all, work great with WiFi finder also you can use on more than one cellphone, bad part share some of your personal data with 3 party on Facebook, the antivirus is another's different history one you give permission it will become an administrator account and won't release the administrator back to you that easy. ????
Endlessly tries to change things. Irritatingly hyperactive. On the point of ininstalling the bloody thing.
Why bother me only to waste my data on this kind of rubbish
More and more adverts and unwanted prompts - getting out of hand.
I liked it a lot I wish you would have bundled the two Avast Clean Finder and this one Avast WIFI Finder and threw in hiding your I.P. address on Google and other sites, I had always wanted to be that fly on the wall doing all the bad but nope.... Splat...haha Sorry I can't afford the plan to get all of them but they seem to be doing good had some of them since June 2015 and last year someone stoled my profile and I have had my password stolen this time I thinks makes 5 times waiting on you guys to make a App. for that one.... Well I am going to find out tonight who is sneaking on my net....Thanks
This feature is really awesome .i do maintenance for a hotel and it helpd alot cause of this app i was able to find out that there is 8 wifi routers at this hotel and that they have no encryption on there network allowing anyone withn range to connect free thus maken our upload and download speed very slow and the ping which was at 300 but download and upload were only comeing in at a 6 and 4 rounded up indicating that the routers need reset along with password to log on

It disagrees with your desktop app. Avast on my PC says my router has a weak password. This app says the same router has a strong password. How can this be the case? Surely both programmes shoukd be using tge same criteria?
