The Official Guide for Missouri State Parks & Historic Sites Pocket Ranger® app has gotten a total makeover!
This FREE all-inclusive outdoor guide was created in a collaborative effort between the Missouri Department of Natural Resources and ParksByNature Network®, and the next generation of the app is better than ever.
Powered by Pocket Ranger® technology, the app gives outdoor enthusiasts an environmentally friendly way to enjoy the parks. It contains everything you need to plan a trip to the state parks, navigate them once you get there, and share your experiences afterward.
Newly added features:
•New user interface (UI) with a sleek, more photo-centric home screen design.
•Photo galleries on each park description page.
•A new Explore feature to optimize search capabilities, allowing a 4-in-1 search by location, activities, category, and site name, making it easier to find the perfect recreational destination.
The app still has rich GPS features, such as:
•Advanced GPS Maps, complete with an accuracy and distance indicator, which allow you to access trail data, record tracks from hikes, runs, or bike rides, and view elapsed time and distance traveled.
•Easy-to-cache GPS Terrain Map tiles, which ensure that navigation remains possible in the event of lost mobile reception.
•Photo waypoint feature allowing you to snap a photo and mark and record the coordinates of plant life, animal species or landscape views. Post or share these remarkable finds with family and friends with the click of a button.
•Friend Finder feature that tracks friends and family around the parks.

Wow found this app in June used it all summer including 4th July at Katy Trail.The event calander and GPS make it live and interactive. Lots of cool features and it is FREE. Nice Job...

This is a good app if you want to know what state parks are in Missouri and what each park provides. The only thing that I would like to see is an option so that you can keep track of which parks you've visited.

We are on our second camping trip planning for the summer, and so far I've used it to look up everything I needed. Couple of cons: wish it had a feature to mark which parks I have been to and it needs to have an area where I can upload my pictures of the park to contribute to the database. Also needs a comment area to go directly to the park ranger

Just visited Weston Bend State Park, and found the map missing. I asked park staff and was told it was supposed to have been fixed, and Weston's map added back in , and they were surprised to hear it was missing. again. Also, some of the functionality appeared to be not working. I was able to set our camp waypoint, but tracking info and navigation were non-functional. One of the park staff actually told me they pretty much deleted the app themselves because of it not including their park, and functional issues. That says a lot to me...

This app could be helpful if it ever worked. The only part of the app that ever seems to work is the ads. Every time I try to use it, it just stops.
