Η Πηνελόπη Δέλτα, (Αλεξάνδρεια της Αιγύπτου 1874 - Αθήνα 1941) ήταν Ελληνίδα συγγραφέας, γνωστή κυρίως από τα ιστορικά της μυθιστορήματα για παιδιά, η σημαντικότερη ίσως γυναικεία φυσιογνωμία στις κρίσιμες για τον Ελληνισμό πρώτες δεκαετίες του 20ου αι. Τρίτο παιδί του Εμμανουήλ Μπενάκη και της Βιργινίας Χωρέμη. Είχε δύο μεγαλύτερα αδέλφια, την Αλεξάνδρα και τον Αντώνη, τον γνωστό «Τρελαντώνη» του ομώνυμου βιβλίου της. Μετά τη γέννηση της Πηνελόπης ακολούθησαν άλλα τρία παιδιά, ο Κωνσταντίνος (που πέθανε σε ηλικία 2 χρόνων), ο Αλέξανδρος και η Αργίνη.

Penelope Delta (Alexandria, Egypt, 1874 - Athens, 1941) was a Greek writer, known mainly historical novels for children, perhaps the most important female figure in critical Hellenism first decades of the 20th century. Third child of Emmanuel Benaki and Virginia Choremi. He had two older siblings, Alexandra and Anthony, the famous "Trelantonis' book of the same name. After the birth of Penelope followed by three other children, Constantine (who died at age 2 years), Alexander and Argini.
