Automatic for Android
The app no longer notified me when my vehicle has been started. I have notifications set to on.
Great interface and allows me to keep accurate mileage tracking for Tax purposes. All around great app!
I used to receive audible tones when my car started or parked, then all of the sudden, it stopped doing it. I don't know why. It isn't the notifications settings. The phone is never silenced. The settings keep reverting the started driving and parked notifications to never all the time! It isn't staying on always the way it used to work. An app update screwed something up.
Like the trip feature, but I am not sure why I need that of there are apps that can do that on their own. I was looking forward to the diagnostic aspect of it, but it shows no problems when my check engine light is on, and there is an obvious issue.
EVERY time I open the open the app for real-time location info, I get a message telling me to buy Pro. Pro IS what I bought. NOT happy!
They still have issues with battery drain. I checked on the location of my car once with the latest version of the app today and ended up with a wakelock that took my phone from 70% to empty-handed in less than 12 hours with no other use. This really needs to be sorted out.
I've had every model of Automatic adapter so far, and given out many as presents. The Pro model is definitely worth it if you're thinking of upgrading. Features of the app are nice. UI is 4/5 but I'm confident they'll continue to improve.
Been using automatic since their first device. Used to be great. Lately I don't receive notifications anymore, data isn't accurate... Will have to move on and find a better option
So far I like it. Trying to load to my desktop but NO LUCK Can you help me.
Would prefer if there's a way to not constantly send pairing requests to my phone. I can't use Android Auto with this constantly wanting to pair
No compatible with s5
It's great! Wish it could tell me how much further I can go till out of gas. Also if I have multiple cars on my account I wish I can just select which car I am driving instead of adding a new car and typing the vin doing the whole process every time I switch cars.
Phone battery life went bad after installing on S7 with Nougat. We need guidance on how to tame this beast. Perhaps some manual settings to minimize power consumption. Give us guidance. Don't just tell us to contact tech support...
everything are awesome. however, not sure if its just my s8 plus problem, the battery drains like crazy when automatic is running in the background, maybe a bug to be fixed?
So far the service is great. The app has an incredibly well designed interface. One of the best I've ever seen, in fact. The way it walks you through the setup is flawless. The trip information is to the point, and tagging trips as a business expense is literally one button press on the notification when you park. They couldn't possibly have made this any easier to use. So why only one star? The great service and interface don't mean anything because I can't keep this app installed. It's poorly optimized and has become my largest battery drainer, even above my screen. I've had my phone unplugged for one hour this morning as I type this and Automatic has already consumed 5% of my battery according to the Android battery statistics. A quick look at the battery statistics tell me Automatic is keeping the GPS active 24 hours a day, even when not driving, meaning the phone can not sleep. This renders my phone useless as I now have to charge it two or three times a day instead of just charging it overnight. If this can't be fixed I'm going to have to return it.
I love this service and have several Automatic Pro adapters. However, latest version of the app severely drains my battery on LG G5 on Sprint.
I made the mistake of opening this app 4 and a half hours ago, and my power usage shows that this app has used 4 and a half hours of gps today. It shouldn't use GPS at all since my automatic has a radio in it. I guess for finding where you are parked? Either way this needs to be fixed, it's killed my battery every day since installing it
I switched from Zubie to Automatic and I'm so glad I did. I love the fact that it has the crash alert in case something happens. I use the fill-up tracking for my gas receipts. And I love the weekly and monthly driving recaps. Oh, and it works with Amazon Alexa! Keep it up, Automatic!
So far, I like it! The weekly stats are very helpful. And when my check engine light came on, it really did give me a code that I took with me to the car shop. UPDATE: Glad to finally give it 5 stars! This has been a real help! Thank you for adding the check engine light history - very very helpful since my car has had multiple check engine lights (same code) and the ability to reset the code (long story). Customer service is ALWAYS on point! Keep up the great work!
Setup worked perfectly. Cannot delete car from app. Must call support.
It would be nice if the fill up feature had the ability to save 'favorite' gas stations. Many times I enter in the fill up information when I'm back at home or at work, and the app by default only provides nearby stations.
Edit: Even better! So much potential! For gas fill ups, can you add the ability to optionally record mileage? Then I could save time and only have to use this one app
A handy device and app, altho I wish it had a bit more features. alerting if the car alarm goes off would be great.
Great app, worth it for the peace of mind that cones with gps tracking of the car if it is stolen alone with the pro version of the hardware. Love the trip tracking and mileage reporting as well. Many other features
This is both a superlative product and an equally superlative app. with a simple, elegant user interface and a thoughtful and well-implemented feature set.
Works as advertised! I would like the ability to track the vehicle in real time like LinxUp
After update decimal on volume of gas is in the wrong place
I feel like the app developers purposely put road blocks into the app to prevent you from being able to use it. Road Block #1, my tablet runs Android 4.4.4, but this app does not work with the #1 installed version of Android in use at this moment. Road block #2 it says my car battery is dead and that I need to drive around to charge it up, yet I drive my car to work every day without issue. Without out a way to skip past this bogus error I spent the next 45 minutes try to figure out how to trick it into randomly working one time. Road block #3 it won't let you use it without first updating the firmware which of course fails. Since there is no way to skip the mandatory update you basically have a $130 paper weight. Another product rushed to market without be finished, the manufacture expects you the customer to fix it yourself. I will be sure to write advertiser Leo Laporte with my dis-satisfaction.
I upgraded from a gen 2 adapter to a Pro adapter...but now all I get is crashes. I can see a list of trips and a thumbnail view of the tracks but the instant I try to click on for any detail the app crashes. Quick response from support saying they have identified a big and a fix should be out soon. All well and fine but until then I am 100% down. Maybe I will just switch back to my gen 2 adapter until they get this out of beta.
Not sure why they made the "pro" app when the classic app is vastly superior. Slightly upgrade the module, significantly downgrade the app. Also, why lose the hard brake/accel beeps (aka the only reason to have this thing)?
I bought the device in January during the server outage and thought I bought a defective device but the problem got straightened out and everything is working awesome now. Great companion app for the product.
I'm no longer able to enter three decimal places for file volume when entering a gas fill up.
Stabile and no problems so far. Installing the device was very easy. Infinite scroll implementation is smooth, app is responsive (no major lags), and intuitive. I noticed that when car was moving, it was zoomed in too much but looks like they addressed that part. The other problem is when you zoom out and vehicle had moved, it would go back to default zoom. Overall a solid app. Keep up with the good work!
Great hardware and app, well worth the money (I have five of these in our company cars). Would be great to have even more customization options and it could record more information from the cars (e.g. odometer).
Why can't I put the gallons to the 3rd decimal point anymore? I used to be able to and now everything's inaccurate.
I've had it for a month now. It works as advertised. It does in fact motivates you to be a better driver--well at least for me. I got the pro version and it is worth the investment.
Great device!
Great device
Seem to have an Automatic notification that is misleading and annoying in the notification dropdown, it does nothing. Takes up space, no valuable reason. "Awaiting communication from your vehicle.." Please fix this!

Seems like they fixed the battery drain issue on my phone at least. Kind of annoyed that it doesn't seem like new features are implemented often. If you go on the website and see what ideas other people have proposed there are many that Automatic says are planned for years now.
