DYRF - 1215

DYRF started as a single AM Radio station under the medium-sized broadcasting company called the Filipinas Broadcasting Association, Incorporated (FBAI). This station was founded by the Redemptorist Fathers (CSsR) in March 24, 1968 in Cebu City with the belief that radio broadcasting should go beyond providing news, entertainment and music. It should influence the lives of people and help them reach not only social and economic security, but especially religious and spiritual stability.

The Divine Word Missionaries (SVD) formally took the ownership and management of DYRF in January 1980. The call name DYRF which signified Radio Filipinas became Radio Familia. Later on, it became Radio Fuerza, signifying its programs with fearless commentary; balanced view; accurate news and reporting guided by the ethical standards set by the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) and the social teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. At present, the station is located at P. del Rosario Street of the University of San Carlos – Downtown Campus, Cebu City
