The Bittunes Android application demonstrates a new vision for the 'people powered' distribution of music, rewarding users with 'micro earnings' as a new way to incentivise and power global independent music distribution. The platform uses bitcoin as its primary currency, and both Artists and music buyers earn bitcoin automatically as part of the platform’s buying/distribution process.
Bittunes is an ‘Independent Digital Music Market’, which means that the bands and songwriters that provide their music to Bittunes, must own the copyright of the music they provide to the network. We will allow smaller independent Labels to feature their Artists on Bittunes, but will exclude Major Label Music. This measure is to avoid the kind of copyright ownership issues that forced the closure of many major P2P applications.
This application will allow ‘music makers’ (Artists) to automatically receive payments in Bitcoin whenever and wherever a music sale takes place. Music Fans that effectively distribute the content also receive royalties immediately, wherever they are on the planet. In this way, music fans can effectively become a new distribution channel for independent music, and instead of a music purchase being a ‘sunk-cost’, if you remain an active and engaged Bittunes member, as more people buy it.. it will steadily return micro earnings.
The Android application available for download here represents the first stage of the Bittunes project. The basic aspects of the 'Independent Digital Music Market' are all in place. There are many collaboration, communication and social features, fascinating new music, and a steadily growing community of to interact with.

Hi, please include on your next update to allow integrate in the app the Upload feature of songs and Album pictures and the two social media profiles. It's inconvenient to go to my laptop just to upload. If you could add some music remix add ons for in app recording of songs that will be great. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to these features. *edit: how about adding some sounds addons after recording in this app so we won't need other apps to add some flavor to our recordings.. Recording + addons features please.. Thanks
