AT&T Messages

Lags sometimes sending out text messages or receiving VM, sometimes sends messages twice, sometimes receiver can't read text. Doesn't instill confidence in that app.

Grabs snippets of text from old messages and inserts, auto-sends into new text. Very confusing and potentially embarrassing. Saves drafts of sent texts in hidden folder on drive, difficult to find and delete thousands of cumulative text phrases... fed-up with this app. Now I can't even delete it! Only uninstall all updates. PHOOEY!

I am mostly using this to be able to text from my tablet and pc. I agree with some of the other reviewers. It needs more customizable options. Like font, color, size. I've looked through all its settings and my phones, I can't change the sleeping alerts. With messenger my screen lights up to lock screen when text is received. I keep getting notifications when I am already in the app. The notifications do not go away until I have to physically go into the notifications and clear them.

You can schedule future texts.... Which is literally how I remind myself to do anything. Such great features, and then missing some normal and expected ones.... Please catch up asap!

All is great except that it randomly grabs old text messages and is resending them to other contacts! Embarrassing! when it is an old text to a bf and it goes to my father!

If you use prepaid you're screwed, this app won't work.

I can not access my groups from my contacts thru this app can anyone help with this problem other than that I would give 5 stars

Integrated wifi texting option will get 5 stars all day.

Hate the way it conflicts with messenger,always wants to change your settings.

If I send messages that are pretty long it sends the message but also sometimes sends a jumbled hybrid of the message and a random previous message.

I hate using this app, but I have to use it because it's the only app that can consistently download MMS and group messages on my phone. Here is why it is terrible: This app will randomly insert snippets of text from old messages into my current conversation threads. For example, in the app it will look like I sent a garbled nonsensical message to a friend, and sometimes it will look like they sent a garbled message to me, but in reality no messages were sent at all. I feel like I can't trust the messages the app shows me. The notification handling is awful. If I get a message while using another app, and then open the message from the Android notification list, when I close the message and try to go back to the app I was just using, it will open AT&T Messages AGAIN instead of the app that I selected. I HATE that it hijacks my app history like that. AT&T Messages behaves so absurdly that I don't trust anything about it.

I want to be able to send texts over wifi when cellular isn't working. The website promises this app will do it, but it refuses to run unless I make it my default app. That's a stupid requirement.

Unable to use the att app because I am on a prepaid service. However, you can use the Verizon app it has no restrictions. It does not matter whether you have another service provider.

I just want to download my messages and photos from your cloud before you purge them in February. Ludicrous advertising ploy for your app.

Not user friendly regarding notifications. Tried it several.times, different updates always go back to default messaging on my phone

How can ATT app not be compatible with my Att Samsung 7 edge. This is an app which I loved using on a S5. Now I've lost all my voicemail history.

Not sure I will keep it. Multiple crashes upon adding voicemail to the mix. Without voicemail it appears work, but not very timely.

Limited Stable app but there aren't any adjustments available, my other message app allows me to have reminders until I read the text. And shows a number by my icon showing a message was left this does not

Very disappointing app anymore. Started out okay then I ran into problems where it loses incoming text messages but not the outgoing part. Then it would combined multiple text messages in a split-second as you would hit the same key it rewrites the text message which has become extremely embarrassing. I've contacted 18 T they don't have any reasons whether they think it's my phone or there and they've heard of this happening with others there's all kinds of stories for it. I've lost a lot of precious text messages and pictures in the text messages of my kids. Not to mention signal service for AT&T is going into the toilet and both point I was extremely happy with the company anymore I feel like I'm pissing in the Wind. I'm pretty much on satisfied with anything and everything that involves AT&T anymore to shame I've been with the company a long time it means nothing to them.

It works but could use some design. UI looks old fashioned on phone, UX is no swipe functions from nav, eg all to texts, also is no way to have texts on open instead of all, so you don't have to see phone calls and such if you just want to use this app for texting

I would like to have an in-depth conversation with someone from AT&T Messages.

I do not understand how this got updated to not support the S7 Active. I had it on my phone until the December update, now it is not compatible.

Bland, no background, no color, and I can't increase the size of text..hard for older seniors..

I like the concept of having messages all in the same place. Part of why I liked hangouts. I'm going to give this another try.

App doesn't work properly, many text required resend

Everything is very slow after updating

Doesnt work at all when integrated with att visual messages on an up to date S7...just a constant "update this app" loop when the app can not be updated

Notifications of new texts even when you're staring at the new text received; must clear notification regardless. Cannot be customized to suit your needs; a dark background or high contrast option would be helpful, more user interface options needed.

Used to like it now my text will not receive and send in order. All out going will b in line all incoming will b in line not as a conversation order. Very frustrating to try to follow a conversation. Tried to update already have latest version tried to reinstall but no worky...needs fixed bad. Also need to b able to customize colors and adjust brightness ect....

In previous versions, I could forward links to websites and tweets by hitting the send icon and selecting ATT messages. With this latest version, a blank message pops up, without the link. I am not happy.

Love having all calls, voice-mail and texts in one location but getting jumbled texts with phrases from previous texts or not even the words that were sent. Recently pics won't send. Want to love again help me fix it!

At times (and without any consistency/apparent commonality of the texts)- the app will combine portions of unrelated text messages (from old conversations with different people). It is not clear whether the message has been resent or exactly who has seen what can be sometimes very embarrassing messages.

It used to be fine. It was perfect and did the basics of what I needed in messaging. After a while it started to crash constantly. I can't write a message for even a minute until it ends up crashing. Please fix this problem. It is very inconvenient and frustrating.

This app is great. I love that I can back up my texts, BUT (yes a big but) I hate that when I pull up the new text instead of tapping the notification it still says it's new. Also, there is a large amount of battery usage involved. I would love to continue using this app, but you guys seriously need to fix these issues.

For some reason, every once in a while this app combines the messages sent within a group conversation with the messages sent to individuals in that group. There was even a time when I was going over an older group conversation and it literally disappeared off my screen as I was reading it. If you were to look at my Messages logs right now, there are no group messages to be seen anywhere despite my sending/receiving them on a nearly daily basis. Not. Good. At. All.

Remove Calls/Voicemail and All tabs. They're useless for a Text app. Perhaps make Text tab default. Developers should look at other text apps for ideas to improve functionality and options for users. Tablet/PC access is great but also needs to work more efficiently.

Even tried a reinstall, totally unsuccessful. I couldn't even.get through the setup I have had to delete the app to stop the constant crashing.
