Libro eBook Reader for Android
I never thought that I would find nice things to say about the awful Zinio reader. But Libro makes that pile of rubbish look good. It shows no sign of download progress so you have no idea if it is getting the books that you have checked out from your library. Needs to try harder. In operation it is hard to use. Intuitive? Forget it. Even changing the zoom is hard. And the text looks dreadful.
Absolutely awful app. Once you navigate through the difficult and horribly buggy menus, singing in with your library number and pin rather than the new account method, getting the book to the checkout and downloading it, you head over to the read now section to open the book and wham! Oh no, the app won't let you do that and crashes immediately. Tried multiple times and the 1.8* average review is really reflected.
Was working fine and easy to setup but keeps crashing Just give your library log-in and Adobe id (needed for time limited epub books, for info to an earlier reviewer) and go. Slightly clunky on settings getting font size right then easy to use. Import works well, sorted out folders of epub and png files. All happy for a while until it crashes every time on my latest download. Tried restarting, reinstalling, different devices to no avail.
Installed then uninstalled I read the reviews and thought ' no app can be so poor'. I was wrong! It is very clunky and very slow, and this on a quick device. So slow to try and search the library that I gave up. This is so frustrating as I used to read a lot of books both on my phone and tablet using Aldiko. Just to point out that I never had a problem with that app, which was quick and smooth. I feel so frustrated. Back to paper books unfortunately. And now it refuses to open any library books that it downloads. Please, please sort its many faults, or better still allow us to use Aldiko!
Loses page turn settings at every reboot. Crashes reliably when reaching some pages (even when opening a book on occasion). No dictionary or thesaurus. This really must be the most half-hearted attempt at an ebook reader ever; unfortunately I seemed to be saddled with it to read my local library's books, otherwise I'd ditch it in an instant
Unusable. The library catalogue actively scrolls by itself and won't let me get control.
Initially I found this easy to install and get books however it will not let me borrow any more books as it insists I have the maximum on loan. I did have four books on loan but the loan period for two of these has expired so I should be able to download two more. Also there needs to be a facility to be able to return books before the expiry date.
Awful, wouldn't let me read the books I had on loan, even if they managed to download after an hour. Kept logging me off and there was no way to fully filter the search results so only books available as e-books could be shown.
Absolute rubbish! Doesn't recognise my library barcode or pin!! These apps (Borrowbox included) are useless, so much so that they will never replace the library - will go to the library from now on - uninstalled!!
Not impressed at all, lets you checkout books then says bookshelf empty and won't let you see anything, preferred overdrive by far Warrington live wire!
Refuses to authorize the adobe id it made me sign up for, keeps saying my clock is wrong with no further information (clock is not wrong)
This must be the clumsiest app I have used. A complicated authorisation procedure which seems unnecessary and a settings page which is hidden and will appear by luck if you manage to stroke the correct place on the screen (somewhere at the bottom). Once into settings the text size can be selected by using a + and a - icon but choosing the required one is trial and error as no sample is shown and you have to go back to the page you were reading to see if it's acceptable. Go to Kindle to see how things should be done!
Rubbish just doesn't work. When I try to open any books it just comes up with message Libro has stopped working
Can't say I'm impressed...I'm housebound so rely on ebooks via electronic libraries and this one won't even open for me to access my library....rubbish
Every time I try to open the book I have downloaded, the app crashes. I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling.
Science Fiction is a popular genre yet there are just 43 titles available and none by an author I rate such as Iain M Banks or Peter Hamilton. What is the point of it?
I can't even log on to this App! Doesn't do anything when I press log in. Will uninstall.
Keeps need re installing. Bookshelf doesn't work, not easy to use
Good range of books please add audiobooks
Completely useless. Keeps stopping making it impossible to read books.
It won't authorize my device.
Rubbish,crashes all the time. Unusable
ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE Awkward, useless and pointless
If I download a book it only remains available for one session. I have to download again to continue reading.
Just keeps crashing.
Won't install!
Its a faff to use. For starters you need an Adobe account for reasons I can't quite fathom. On top of that whenever I try to scroll through the book the text jumps around or zooms in and out. Tried to install it on a tablet so I wouldn't need to scroll but now it seems the book store is down (404) so I'm stuck.
Why is it asking to authorise the device? It works perfectly well with the website. Should it say"Authorise the app"? Appears no better than the previous method, just as slow, but finally could not download books so will uninstall.
Downloaded this app as library has changed from Overdrive. Took ages to download the book then took another age till I fathomed out how to increase font size which didn't seem to change much just darker type. Hope some improvements are forthcoming,
Just logged in and selected a book. Failed to download, giving error message. Went to website, logged in and downloaded same book instantly to Aldiko. Will stick with website!

Switched to Libro from Overdrive as library changed services. I have also used kindle app and google books. All on my Note 4. Libro is by far the worst. I can't turn pages by volume button. The settings are a nightmare. Books take ages to download. Complicated to search for and download a book. Complicated to set the app up with the messing with Adobe. It's supposedly better than overdrive because you can take out twice as many books (was 4, now 8) but as I read for pleasure I only need one at a time.
Have tried to download my books numerous times and just comes up with xml code and won't download books making app completely pointless. Going back to wales ebooks site and hope that still works.
Have been using Bluefire Reader quite happily for years to read my library books but this is faster - more like a One Stop Shop. Works on my Galaxy Tab S and Hudl, taking me to the last page I've read on either tablet. Once I started to read I found it just the same as Bluefire. Very pleased.
Installed it. Uninstalled it. Installed it again. All I get is blank screen. It is going again and this time for good!
This app is designed to work with your library service eBooks but only if they have subscribed to the eBook supplier. Love the way it mirrors the library eBook website. Lots of personal options in the settings. Would be 5* if there was a link to the free public domain books.
Good, but I often find myself tapping words, trying to pull up a dictionary definition, as I have got used to doing in other readers
Can anyone tell me how to authorise this app otherwise it's useless

It's quite stark. No dictionary. The bookcase strips the book of it's front cover so you are presented with the publisher details and it is difficult to know which book is which. I do however like the ability to go straight into my local library and order books directly.
