FBSync for FBReader ** Root ** for Android
Designed to work with the android e-book reader, FBReader, this app will sync your position (by paragraph and word) in every e-book you've opened with FBReader to the web. Ideal if you have multiple Android devices that you use with FBReader to read e-books on, or to back up/restore your positions before wiping your device.
Once installed, all you have to do is specify a unique username and PIN # to identify you in the preferences, then click the orange icon to sync your positions. Use the same username/pin combination on multiple devices to sync the book positions from one device to another.
When syncing, only positions that are farther along than your old synced position is saved, so if you read a book from the beginning to end (like the typical human) you should be good to go.
With v1.0.14, added a Dropbox interface that will allow you to sync your actual book files from one devices to another (Or just back them up) using your very own Dropbox account!
I am not affiliated in any way with the creators of FBReader, I'm just an avid fan of the application who saw a need, and decided to fill it.

...I'd love to see Google Drive compatibility!
drop box feature not working
Great app! Works perfectly, and the developer is amazingly responsive if you have an issue.
Perfect addition to the best Android ereader! Allows me to read my books from any of my Android devices right where I left off! Works flawlessly!
Simple to backup/sync fbreader database. use dropbox to upload books wirelessly to fbreader
Been waiting for this functionality. It's awesome!
A bit clunky but it does it's job
Amazingly useful app! Syncs my books between my phone and my tablet so I can read on either one without having to try to find my place.
Works great, looking forward to tighter integration with FBReader!
If you read on multiple android devices this is a must have.
FBsync Excellent, seems to be working fine so far.
I am desperate for a reader that will sync positions with windows and work well. Any change of that with this?

Everything's good, but it would be perfect to have the app for Windows and Linux as well :)

Why does it say invalid account on both my devices?
it needs user and pass and it "preferably" asks for email. this seems like a scam for getting emails and passwords. just being a bit paranoid but I guess it is kinda warranted here.
Good, but should be integrated into FBReader to avoid requiring root access I have both an Android tablet and smartphone, but only the tablet is rooted. I suppose it does give me comfort knowing that for the dozen or two books I am reading at one point or another, they are backed up in Dropbox with the latest page read. I only wish root access was not required, because my smartphone does not have a reliable and simple root method. Honestly, this functionality should be integrated into FBReader itself, and I would encourage the developer to look into working with the FBReader team to make the app far more productive and reliable. Having plug-ins helps make a program more useful, but having those functions built in to the core would be even better. I think that this would provide a better end user experience, possibly increasing market share.
I'm enjoying this quite a bit. I've been using Dropsync to keep my book files synced up and the built in sync for placing. This set up causes the books to appear in triplicate in the books list. I would love to see a way to manage this list. I would also love to see a script to sync whenever a user selects 'Close FBReader.' Really, great work, dev. This is an excellent solution for a book junkie with multiple devices (for me, MAXX HD and Nexus 7).
Why does it want access to accounts? Suspicious. I'll pass. Besides, Google's own reader sync just fine without root.
Would really like to see you keep at it. Looking forward to some kind of tasker compatibility or an auto sync. And a log with sync info (really just success or failure info - had some time outs)
I find this app very useful. The only draw back I find is remembering to sync. I also use Moon reader and like its build in sync., but FB reader is more robust and will read books that Moon reader can't. So this is a good addition to FBreader
Does not work. Books are not put into dropbox.
Is it possible to use google play services for syncronization?
Dropbox sync is foobar. Reset of web or local data results in loss of books and synch positions with epub book. Dropbox data size remains 0 bytes. Opening of books from interface seems non functional. Titanium back data restore does not restore a working database.
Is the sync automated? If not, how the app solve the out of sync problems?
It looks like it sync, displaying the page I stopped at from another device, but it always show up an error during syncing and when I open FBreader, the pages are still not sync.
I love this software on GB and HC, but it doesn't seem to work on ICS on my Galaxy Nexus or my Xoom. It syncs fine, but FBReader doesn't recognize the new starting points for books on other devices.
Bookmark syncing works perfectly but the dropbox features gives me errors.
Tested with my Nexus 7 tablet and LG Optimus 3D phone. Synchronizes book positions nicely. On an initial receive (new device) it can help to "delete local" before the first sync.
Keeps all my books in sync accross my devices
Great idea, and works really well. Can confirm the recent fix means this now works on Honeycomb Galaxy Tab 10.1.
Works perfectly. This has become one of my essential Apps
Please, make it sync using Dropbox or Google Docs.
Will not sync between my Nexus 7 tablet and Nexus S phone.
A must combo for any multiple android device owner who likes to read.
I even went as far as to pester FBreader developer about this. Work seamlessly between my two ICS device (a heavily modded nexus one running MeDroidMod and a eee pad transformer TF101G running CNA) I don't need Wireless sentry pro, nevertheless, I'm buying it right now to thank you :)
