I gave it 3 stars only because the customer service was so great. The app is supposed to be compatible with the J7. But, surprise, it's not. The customer service person told me that the J7 and my model # shows compatible on your list. You lost two stars for making excuses.

I love the meter and app, it makes monitoring my levels and trends much more efficient. The only thing I don't like about it is the inability to delete content I've added. I took 1 star off because I cannot remove a food I added and spelled wrong. I added it again with the correct spelling but I cannot get rid of the misspelled one, so now I have 2 of the same food.

The app does not support Android 8 (Oreo), which is insane. It is acceptable to not support an old operating system. It is asenine to not support the most up to date version, especially when you are a large corporation. Even more damning, I could use the app on a Nexus 4 (5 years old), but not on my Nexus 5X (2 years old). All of this implies they have little intent to support these meters or the app in the near future.

I have been using this app for a couple of months because this is the meter that came with my cgm. This app is very unreliable for recording my numbers through bluetooth. Sometimes i can't get it to record the data from the meter at all and just have to enter it by hand which wouldn't be so frustrati g if it didn't claim to do it. I am extremely dissapointed in this app. It also has a lot of bugs when displaying the date. Mysugr is about a million times better.

Terrible app. I have android V7. Works only about half the time. I know why It's free. Would not recommend

I was not able to pair with Android 8.0. After upgrading to 8.1, I can pair. But looks like the data that was on device did not synced to the app. Any way to get that data synced?

I love the app first diabetic app I've used that has been helpful. Sends reminders to me when I need them. Love that I can change the information on my phone and it changes on my meter. It really works I have a galaxy s8+ and the contour next one meter. And its a perfect pair.

The app itself works reasonably well. I have an HTC 10 running Android 7 (Nougat). I had no problems pairing the Contour Next One meter with my phone. I usually run the app before taking a blood reading and it usually shows up before I can confirm the meal status on the meter. Occasionally, the reading doesn't show instantly, but I may simply be impatient. I have been using it for 3 weeks with no significant problems. The app offers the ability to manually enter A1c readings, but it is non-intuitive and I have one incorrectly dated entry that I would like to either delete or correct. I cannot figure out how to do either. That's a small negative mark on the app. I'd also like to have more freedom to adjust the graphs offered by the app. Ascensia, I would not mind at all being a part of a user group tasked with advising improvements to the app. You've got a good start, but there is plenty of room for improvement. Overall, I'm satisfied with it and the meter. The meter has other problems that do not penalize the app itself. Update: after reading another review and Ascencia Tech Support's response, I figured out how to delete the erroneous A1c entry. That's good, but the user interface is not at all intuitive and could be better.

Lack of support for Oreo is ridiculous. Not patching the app faster to support the new handling of Bluetooth in Oreo is a disservice to your users. Would switch meters today if this wasn't what my insurance covered.

N70%
by N####:

Works great for me. I like the fact that you can select if the reading was fasting, before or after eating. Being able to chart averages for each group is nice and divide them up by meals is helpful too. My phone is a note 8 and has no problems running this app at all. I use this app everyday makes keeping track of everything very easy.

N70%
by N####:

I'm an insulin pump user. When inputting the insulin I give myself, I need more than just the ability to document at the whole or 0.5 unit level. The Contour line is great, but if it doesn't communicate with my pump then I need to enter my data as accurately as possible.

N70%
by N####:

The app is primitive. It lacks a food database to search from. No way to keep adding your carbs as you eat during the day.

N70%
by N####:

Add the ability to edit food names already added and a built-in calculator to help determine dosage and this app would receive a 5 star rating

N70%
by N####:

App not compatible with Oreo. I have a Google Pixel which is supposed to be the standard and it is still not on the list of supported devices. Frankly that's inexcusable.

N70%
by N####:

App works great Samsung Note 5 however I would like to add other medications with names slots for 2 medication only...perhaps a future upgrade..

N70%
by N####:

Doesn't work with my 7.1.2 Android Phone

B70%

I love it it's the best thing since sliced bread

Purchased the meter specifically for the use of the app. It turns out the app is NOT compatible with my Motorola phone. It would have been nice to know this up front before I purchased the meter and all those strips. (list compatible devices on the box or even on the app....) Chances are, I will not be a repeat customer and will buy a new meter (from a different company) as soon as I use the non-returnable strips.

B70%
by B####:

Works with my galaxy s5 fine. Only gripe is with the limited mealtime selections. They really don't work for a night shift worker. Why have any limits at all? A lot of programming to make the app LESS useful.

F70%
by F####:

For the most part works as advertised. The notifications do not work on my Moto Force. Would also like to see a bolus calculator in the app

N70%
by N####:

Meter pairs with my phone but will not connect to the app. I purchased this meter so I could connect wirelessly and keep my readings up to date and this has been a waste of time and money leading to nothing but frustration. Hopefully I can pair this device to my computer so I can at least download my readings to print out since it will no longer connect to the mobile app. What a waste.

N70%
by N####:

It works great, but think I'm doing some thing wrong. I set the alarm to remind me of when to test my blood sugars, but I don't get them.

X70%
by X####:

What a garbage app! Bought this meter specifically tonise with my Pixel XL and it won't pair. I wouldn't have bought this meter or strips had I known the app was broken.

N70%
by N####:

Worked just fine on lg v30. Wish the graph was laid out more like other apps and easier to read, but a solid app IF you have the Contour Next One.

N70%
by N####:

Cannot pair Contour Next One meter with Bluetooth with SAMSUNG S7Edge. Error says Pairing Unsuccessful. Is there a way to force the Bluetooth on the meter to sync/pair with the phone so I can upload my blood readings?

G70%
by G####:

What does a glucose meter app need my phone, camera, location, and every other thing it asks for?

N70%
by N####:

It works great some times it stops that is ok I just exit out for a min or two then open it back up it would be great if it was a talking meter for the blind people or make the contour diabetes app a talking app and it works with my smart phone

H70%
by H####:

Issues with pairing with Android 8 and 8.1. Connects then it becomes disconnected and won't pair

Q70%
by Q####:

Really wish there was a calculator so i didnt have to use 2 apps to calculate how much insulin i need to take.

N70%
by N####:

Love the app. It is very user friendly with the exception that I can't add food. If they can make this happen it would definitely be a 5 star rating for me.

N70%
by N####:

Works fine on S8 Note. Transfer of reading, notes and other info is effortless. Data so easy to see now on cell phone versus digging for it in the BGM.

One of the thousands of people who bought this meter for the Bluetooth and found out it doesn't work.

It doesn't work with my Google Pixel, never paired with the device.

N70%

Does not pair with my phone. Why would it after all? Looking at the libre meters and test strips going forward.

N70%

It worked great until the Android 8 update now it won't sync with my phone.

I have a contour next link and it can't connect I thought that it was for this meter

At first it was great. However, it no longer connects to my S7. Please fix.

Good so far but needs to sync with MyFitnessPal which logs food better

N70%

Won't pair with my Google Pixel XL...

N70%

For those of us who don't work 9-5 (0900-1700), it is conflustercating that there is no military time option... Also day dividers can only be adjusted slightly (ie. - my breakfast occurs after 1400 (2PM), but the app won't let me adjust it past noon. Also, for a natural based meal plan (small eats every 3 hrs.) there should be a generic "meal" label, although the manual adjust "snack" option is a viable option. Otherwise, so far so good.
