Kanji Fix for Android
Although the app didn't help me to change the fonts, it helped me figured out how to do it. Don't know if the issue is related to my Android version (5.0) or something else, but the font management was made in /system/etc/fonts.xml instead of /system/etc/fallback_fonts.xml, so the app was trying to access the wrong file. Might have worked for other Android version
Use with caution but if your running a more stock ROM you may have issues
It worked on my previous phone, but it fails on my galaxy note 3 because it cant find fallback_fonts.xml
Marvelous, exactly what I was searching for my MM android phone. Works flawlessly.
Worked perfectly on my phone running CM13
Works great on Marshmallow now. Thank you!
Must have app!
So far so good.
Please fix kanjifix. It no longer works.
Could not find expected fonts in fallback_fonts.xml
Of only we didn't have to do this in Android, but it's good to have a utility that makes it easy to fix. Maybe someday Android will allow us to decide for ourselves what fallback fonts we want to use when reading Japanese or Chinese, but I won't be holding my breath on that one. それで、アンドロイドの漢字を直してくれたありがとうございます!
Practically indispensable for a student of Japanese.
Thanks for the lollipop update! Works like a charm!
Edit: installed it and works flawlessly. Thanks!
It works greatly! Until now I had to do this fix manually. This is a lot faster and stress-free! Tested on Lollipop 5.0.1 (Nexus 5 and Nexus 10)
This fixes the Japanese problems caused by so-called "unicode".
I've been having problems rendering Japanese characters with my Japan-bought Nexus 5 since I got it, but this app fixed everything. Now 直す and 置くrender correctly! :) Thanks!!!
This makes everything so easy. I hated having to check google for the forum where some guy explained how to fix this every time I had to fix this. Thank you! Thank you!
All the time I used to think it was my lack of knowledge about the "font'in which kanji appears on android. But it actually was Chinese characters! It all looks fine now! :) thanks and great work!
I'm highly impressed, well made, even declared android.permission.ACCESS_SUPERUSER.
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!
