Chocolate Freaks, c’est une invasion de personnages kawaii, issus de l’imagerie manga.
Ils s’accumulent, se montent dessus, s’empilent, mais jamais ne se rencontrent.
Ils prennent la pose, les yeux fixes, l’attitude figée.


JL POP/ MINI JLPOP/ POPMAN ...

La série JL POP est une immersion dans différents univers imaginaires, différents fonds et un visage autoportrait qui revient systématiquement.
Comme un tampon qui signifie «j’y étais».

The JL POP serie is a dive into differents imaginary worlds, differents backgrounds and the same face, selfportrait, again and again.
A stamp that means «I’ve been there»


HYBRID..

La vie absurde. Estropiés, amputés, déformés, ils se tordent. Humanoïdes, « freaks » d’épouvante et autres créatures fictives s’agitent, prisonniers d’un cirque imaginaire. Jean-Luc DESSET s’invente un monde ubuesque génétiquement modifié.


ACRYLIQUE..

Dans mes toiles, tout se fond (absence de coins), tout s’entrelace.
Je peux ainsi retrouver l’apparente simplicité de la vie ; images conservées de l’enfance.

Derrière la simplicité du graphisme se cachent des angoisses, une recherche de perfection, d’éternité.
Le thème de la mort est omniprésent (attitudes figées des personnages), la solitude, le sexe... Jean-Luc Desset

Chocolate Freaks is an invasion of kawaii characters from manga imagery.
They accumulate, total top, stack, but never meet.
They are posing, staring, fixed attitude.


JL POP / MINI JLPOP / POPMAN ...

JL POP series is immersion in various imaginary worlds, various funds and a self-portrait face that always returns.
As a buffer which means "I was there."

The JL POP series is a dive into different imaginary worlds, different backgrounds and the same face, selfportrait, again and again.

HYBRID ..

The absurd life. Maimed, amputees, distorted, they twist. Humanoids, "freaks" of terror and other fictitious creatures fluttering, prisoners of an imaginary circus. Jean-Luc DESSET invents a grotesque world genetically modified.


ACRYLIC ..

In my paintings, everything melts (no corners), all intertwines.
So I can find the apparent simplicity of life preserved childhood images.

Behind the simplicity of the graphics are hidden anxieties, a search for perfection, eternity.
The theme of death is omnipresent (frozen attitudes of the characters), loneliness, sex ...
