Ganesh Chaturthi also popularly known as Ganesh Utsav, Vinayak Chaturthi’ or ‘Vinayaka Chaturthi festival is observed on September 5 and is celebrated with lot of zeal and enthusiasm. was first celebrated by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaja, the great Maratha ruler and since then it is celebrated with lot of fervor. Ganesh Chaturthi festival lasts for 10 days and ends on the day of Ananta Chaturdashi, which is mostly observed during the month of Bhadra i.e. mid-August or mid-September, according to Hindu calendar. The auspicious occasion arrives on the fourth day of Bhadarva Shukla-Paksh according to the Hindu calendar and is mostly celebrated for 10 days as Ganpati, Ganesh Festival or Ganeshotsav
