LockTalk

LockTalk is the world’s first private, peer-to-peer instant messaging application. We pride ourselves on giving our users control over their own data; unlike other messaging services, we have no access to the data being sent between users. Instead, we provide a means for users to communicate directly and securely with each other, using industry-leading encryption to ensure that only the intended recipients ever gain access to content sent across LockTalk’s peer-to-peer network.


Features:

LockTalk’s number one focus is privacy. We employ three layers of protection to ensure that your data remains secure:

- Encryption: We use the most robust encryption available - AES-256 CBC - to protect every piece of data that is sent across our network. This is the same type of encryption that the US government uses to protect documents classified as TOP SECRET.

- Authentication: Leading edge, digitally signed certificates are used to ensure that every user is who they say they are. In other words, only you and your intended recipients can ever actually decrypt and view the data you send. Crucially, even we as a company have no way of decrypting and viewing the messages and photos you send.

- Availability: LockTalk is unique in the way that it allows you to send data directly to the devices that are supposed to receive it, and only those devices. We create a custom network channel between you and whoever you are chatting with, effectively preventing any third parties from accessing that data. Most instant messengers are similar to the postal service - your message is handled by many different people before arriving at its destination. LockTalk instead provides a way for your device to transmit the message directly to the recipient, as if you were delivering the message by hand.

Our cutting edge privacy features are more or less invisible to you as the user. What you interact with is a clean, fast and easy-to-use messaging app with plenty of great features:

- LockTalk is cross-platform. We currently have native Android and iOS apps, and are already working on supporting more platforms. We also have a dedicated web app that allows any LockTalk user to log in and chat with their contacts from any web browser.
- Don’t pay for SMS; LockTalk uses your cellular data or wi-fi connection to send unlimited messages for free.
- Search for and add contacts by email address or 6-digit LockTalk PIN.
- Chat one-on-one or create group conversations with custom subjects.
- Create a simple user profile to optionally share a profile picture, work information and your phone number.
- Quickly access your contacts’ info throughout the app, and seamlessly jump into a phone call, an email, or a LockTalk conversation.
