About Geofencer
This app helps you set up AUTOMATIC actions and events on entering or exiting specific map areas called geofences. (Note: this app is NOT recommended for tablets at this time).

Basically, you can add a geofence anywhere on a map, and choose:
- When you want to be notified (entering or exiting the area, or both)
- How you want to be notified (phone vibrating or playing a sound, or both)
- What your phone is to do automatically on notification: turn on/off WI-FI or Bluetooth , put phone on Normal, Silent or Vibrate mode, send automatic SMS messages to contacts, fire auto-reminders, speak, etc. or any combination of those actions.

By robotizing actions & firing events on crossing predefined map zones, Geofencer ’s aim is to help bring more intelligence into your Android device. The app uses 3D rendering and Google’s new location algorithm ("Fused Location Provider") to be more accurate and use significantly less battery life. You can also scroll, change the map angle. rotate the map or zoom with finger gestures.

Location services need to be enabled on your device (go to "Settings/Location and security" and enable wireless networks and GPS). It does help to turn Wi-Fi on along with GPS... even if that Wi-Fi is not connected to any particular network ! That is because the Fused Location Provider uses all of the communication sensors in your phone. Enabling Wi-Fi helps Google Services detect a geofence crossing in case the GPS signal is too weak on that location. Increasing the fence radius of action can also help (in a 3G network, for example).
In particular, if you can't see the "My Location" transparent button in the top right corner of the map, or if your location on that particular map spot is not accurate, there is no way geofencing will work reliably.

- Text-To-Speech - TTS (v2.0). You can set up customized voice notifications on crossing map zones. All languages supported by Android TTS are supported by this app.
- Activity Recognition (v2.1). Your phone will attempt to detect your activity (Still, Tilting, On Foot, On Bicycle or In Vehicle). When it is at least 50% sure that you are on the move, it will suggest you to turn your GPS on, in order to gain more precision in the detection of geofence crossings when your location is changing rapidly.
- Automated Web requests (v2.5) on crossing geofence boundaries.
- Custom phone settings (v2.7), pop-up Help tips, and better Settings screen..
- Custom fence radius (v2.8) in Meters, Feet or Miles.

Edited- No support, only one free fence, custom fence not working. There is a free app with a hundred free fences. I have installed that one. Maybe I am doing something wrong. Every time I need to reboot my phone, the app stops working. Most recently for a regular android security update. The only way I get it to work again is to delete my free fence, and reset it. That seems very cumbersome. Also, the time before this, I lost my purchased fence. It would be nice if there was a way that the purchased fences could be tracked, so if you go to a new phone, or lose purchased fences by some random weirdness, you do not have to reinvent the other fences, and repurchase them besides.

Hi I created and deleted 2 Geofences. I can not create more than 1 fence as I get a warning that the limit has been reached. I cleared data n also re installed the App but did not help. So I guess the issue is at your server end.

App worked fine but the fence sizes are limited. Please include a manual input for fence size. As a driver intending to use this app to notify me when i have left my coverage area I need a very large radius. Once you make this update i will give 5 stars.

One of the best apps I have discovered. Would be great if the program allowed actions based on movement as well - eg turn Bluetooth on/off if driving etc

Can only add a single change to phone setting, can't turn Bluetooth and WiFi on and off. Clicked on "Buy another fence", got no indication of how much it would cost and how I should pay. Just told me I had successfully bought another fence. How?

This app, when paired with IFTTT, is great. When I get home the app sends an SMS message to IFTTT, which I have configured to turn on my Hue lights. Currently you can only configure a single SMS message for both entering and exiting a geofence which limits it. Would be 5 stars if you could have a different SMS for entering and exiting. Then I could have it turn off my lights when I leave home.

Geofence purchase doesn't actually go through so can't even create more than one. Requests way too many sensitive permissions. Interface is awkward to use - frequently when trying to create a new fence it would snap back to my first fence. Features it'd be nice to have: - Ability to adjust the geometry of a geofence instead of only having a static circle - Ability to trigger a specific sound effect/mp3
