About ArmAmp Music Player
ArmAmp is an audio player designed to be as easy to use as a desktop application. It includes basic features found in desktop players but almost impossible to find in mobile players, for example launching radio stream directly from a web browser. Also it allows advanced playback control hard to find even in desktop players, like ability to set exact frequency in every equalizer's band.
Free version of the player may play ads. If it does they won't be played too often.
Features include:
* Uses FFmpeg for decoding, meaning that it supports almost all audio file formats including mp3, ogg vorbis, flac, opus, real audio (*.ra), windows media audio (*.wma), monkey's audio (*.ape), musepack (*.mpc) and many more.
* Reads playlists: m3u, ram, pls, xspf, asx, cue sheet.
* Plays local files, files on remote filesystems, and any web stream including Shoutcast radio stations.
* Built-in file browser with:
- access to audio files on local storage, Samba servers, Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive (former SkyDrive) and WebDAV servers (WebDAV is supported by several clouds, for example Box, Yandex.Disk, 4shared),
- bookmarks for easy access to often used folders.
* Gapless playback:
- for audio formats that natively support gapless playback,
- for gaplessly encoded mp3,
- for any mp3 option to remove silence.
* Replay gain.
* 10–band equalizer with ability to set exact frequency, width and gain for every band.
* Preamp, postamp.
* Balance.
* Reverb - 5 different parameters can be used to set preferred sound.
* Speed effect.
* Pitch effect.
* Tempo effect.
* Crossfeed effect.
* Fade in and fade out with configurable time.
* Sleep timer.
* Can be controlled using:
- main window,
- headset and other media buttons (supported actions: play, pause, stop, next, previous),
- buttons in notification area (required Android 3.0+),
- widget (on Android 4.2+ can be placed on lockscreen).
* Last.fm:
- built-in scrobbling (no separate scrobbling app is necessary),
- love track,
- ban track.
* Displays lyrics using LyricWiki.
* Displays Shoutcast/Icecast stream information.
* Bookmarks:
- single song/stream or whole playlist can be bookmarked,
- audiobook mode - current playback time can be bookmarked.
* Playlist sorting:
- by file name,
- by tags,
- easy manual control.
* Automatic playlists containing favorites or random songs.
* Shuffle - as long as it's possible it will not repeat songs. Also whole playlist can be randomized with similar effect.
* Tags viewer with automatic encoding detection.
* Supports devices with ARM, x86 or MIPS processors.
Permissions:
INTERNET - used for playing music not available locally.
WAKE_LOCK - used for ensuring smooth audio playback. Behavior can be changed in settings.
READ_PHONE_STATE - used for optional pausing after phone call.
WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE - allows file deletion (must be requested by user).
Other permissions are used by ad library and are not used with ads removed.

I used Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo which had finest music sounds. I purchased Moto Z Play which had Google Music Player and Moto's Audio Effect app which is not as good as Samsung's. Almost 2 days of searching equal app I found this. Amazing app by means of 3D Sound effect. Still need much improvement by means of design.

Why the hell is this the only music app I've found that lets you browse by directory? It boggles the mind. We are not THAT far removed from the days of iPods and MP3 players, people. A lot of us still need that function! Have 5 stars, ArmAmp, for being the only music app that makes any damn sense.

The player is great overall (coming from an audio nut), but the parametric Eq is hardly usable if you don't know what you'll be getting.. had to use formulas to calculate and verify the Eq results. Make the switch to the standard 'Q' in place of that, would be a huge step up! Also gotta beautify it a little with album art on the Now Playing screen and decent layout, and this would simply be the best player on the Store, period.

I truly love the capabilities of this app (especial the precise decimal pitching) and would recommend this to all music lovers that need to "tweak" sound to one's preferred level. My only issue is that I'd love a SEARCHING capability in this app. I have almost 5000 minutes of music. It's hard to listen to a particular song if I have to scroll through hundreds of songs. But I'll give 5 star because it's changed my musical experience to something quite amazing. ^_^ Thanks a lot. One day, I'll buy the ad-free.

It takes time to make a great setting, but it is all worth, good job dev, now i didn't need any of equalizer root apps, this is a solution for you if your device didn't have root & standard equalizer

The best music player that I've ever used on Android. Can play a lot of different audio file formats, sorts by folder and filenames very well, equalizer settings and lots of other features. Been using Wiktor's ArmAmp for a long time and before that, I am unsatisfied with other music/audio players. This ticks all the boxes for my needs especially with the addition of the "seek time" feature. Now makes it easily to go to the exact location of a long audio book. Thank you Wiktor for developing this very useful app. I can't commend your work enough.

It's light weight, simple to use and has a rich Hifi output (I have used Neutron and Poweramp Alpha). Armamp is the best when running it along with other apps (such as Kindle for reading...) Enjoy!

I have done as stated(don't hide on screen lock) however no success while there isn't a stop button on the main screen either. My primary suggestion which was first tap on rwd rewinds to song start, second tap jumps to previous song was a simple but effective idea. Best regards.

No way to arrange music, it lists all music alphabeticaly. I have 26k hrs of music, all different genres so hard to play one style. No playlist creator, plus no dtap to play song down list. Fix and I would buy.

I use an S5. When i updated Arm amp all my files won't play. You press on a file and it slowly scrolls to the bottom of the list attempting to play files it can't find. And i can't find an option to access SD card anymore? Please fix
