BandHelper: Set Lists and More

Works really well for our band. We have a mix of ipads and androids between players. Syncs well. Works offline well. Tip: We use the bandhelper website to upload, edit and manage - it's easier - and we use the apps during the gig. We removed most of the app layouts to make it easier to navigate. Support is quick, but the ticket system itself is terrible (replying and communication is time consuming, and we cannot see our correspondence). Also we cannot easily attach the same document to multiple songs, which is a major pain for us, and this creates duplication copies (which creates issues with versioning). Would give 5 stars if we could. Keep up the good work Arlo!

Getting there, still not perfect though.

Just trying to use my BT-106 page turner. App requires messing with directories more than being in the actual app. Tutorials are lacking in critical details for basic needs, and once I figured out how to add sheet music, the app started crashing every single time I opened it. Complete and confusing waste of time.

This should be a simple app, but its complicated, counterintuitive, ugly and basically not very easy to use across many devices

This is working great for me. For some reason wouldn't work on first install, but is working great now on my cheap tablet. I was hesitant to leave the world of paper charts, but I'm getting the hang of it the app is an easy way to wade into the 21st century waters.

Would do nothing, crashed constantly

This is one of my favorite apps because it syncs all my devices with my songs, back up music and set lists. With Band Helper, I can create set lists and upload audio files. Then, like magic, they show up on my phone, tablet and all my devices for use at live gigs. It makes that a lot easier. There's room for improvement, and I could give it 4 stars instead of 5, but it's worth encouraging this app by boosting it a little. The concept of the app (online service syncing with app) is brilliant, the app is incredibly helpful, and Arlo is very responsive. Good app. Good service. Arlo, please keep it up. Thanks. For a solo artist, easily worth the $10-$20 per year.

The odd screenshots here. Looks entirely unprofessional. This also explains why certain GUI elements are obscuring each other in landscape view. And a "help ticket"? Key words about stage plot: "It shouldn't be this hard". Well, Arlo, also there is absolutely Nothing you can do to Stop users from swearing on your app page: focus on your app development and help here, don't get caught up in minutia, it will un do you. And, remember, you do not own this page, Google does. Let them worry about the swearing.

My band finds this app essential I don't know how we lived with out it before. And Arlo is extremely responsive to questions and bug fixes. Great app.

My band uses this app to share charts, set lists, and recordings for all of our songs. We also use the app on stage and in rehearsal instead of the paper and sharpie set lists of old. Plus the developer just keeps adding new and awesome features! It is a vital tool for our band and it even works cross-platform!

I click to add a feature to my blank stage plot & usually nothing comes up. When the menu does appear I try to add instrument, but it doesn't list any instruments I have in my band (guitar, fiddle, bass) & you can't add any. Now it's frozen on the blank stage plot & I can't do anything. I can't add anything on the desktop version except notes and contact info. It's probably user error but it shouldn't be this hard. Glad they offer a free trial so I don't have to go through the hassle of demanding a refund.

I really like this tool it's very handy! There's a lot of customization available. However, with the customization it can be a bit overwhelming to navigate. I really like that it's available on my Android, iPhone and on computer.

So far my band loves this app. We play at a local church and it's great for seeing what songs we've done and setting up set lists well in advanced and having the chords right there when needed. The only thing not giving this a 5 star is that most of the time when I open a chord sheet, the page won't scroll through the whole page or even sometimes not at all. Could be my phone (android system) as my band members with apple phones have no such issue.

When I stumbled across BandHelper, I quickly realized I need not look any further. As I progress into this app, it continues to surprise me how much it can do and how well designed it is. As a drummer it's particularly useful because we can't plop a music stand in front of us. Just the repertoire portion of this app is enough for me to pay the $25/year fee. Even if the rest of my band doesn't get on board with it, it's worth it to me because it solves all the issues I had with managing song and set lists. Goodbye Google Drive and OneDrive!

Works OK with one user but try and share with band members buying a gig. Keeps wanting to update via Internet. Metronome sluggish so forget trying to get the right tempo for song (need this as I'm the drummer) screen background flash doesn't sync with tempo click either. Arlo helpful but this app may soon get ready elbow. Oh and forget trying to use it on Android unless it's the only app running and you don't want to link with band members.

Stands head and shoulders above other musician/performer apps in regard to both current features AND future potential. It takes a little time to learn how to operate this app, but it's well worth it.

Love this and so does the band. Dev support is phenomenal. Must have for any band that needs synchronicity and transparency.

Btw...The 1 star ratings are from illiterates. For a smart working musician this app is perfect. It is all business, no fluff...LOADED with features. The midi integration is a God-send. No more pedal dancing between songs! The fact that it runs great on low-cost Android devices allows me to outfit everyone with lyrics, performance notes, chord charts, and embedded links to streaming music for practice...and much more! This has greatly simplified our practice and performances and reduced time between songs.

Let me tell you about this app. Did the trial, liked it. Now, heres where it gets stupid. I go to buy the app, and I use my paypal. I get no way of knowing if its bought. Website tells me nothing, paypal tells me nothing, and my account is still locked. So now I go to their forums. I register. I get an email back, asking me to verify im a real person by replying back. Found that kinda weird, as i am a regular on many forums, and never had to do that. No problem. So now im registered. I start a post asking my questions. NOW it says my post is "Awaiting Approval" Seriously? Approval AFTER I proved myself not a bot? My post was started at 9:07 am this morning. It is now 6:10pm and still waiting for my questions to be answered. Scratch that - Im waiting for it to be approved to be seen! Not recommending this app at all. Support is atrocious.

This app has saved me HUNDREDS of hours and helped me avoid many embarrassing moments on stage. If you are the leader of a band, this app is an absolute must. Guitar... Check Amp... Check Band Helper... Check

I can't tell you all the different apps I tried to just to manage the sheet music aspect. Now that I'm hooked on BH, I've learned that there is so much more than just that. This app is packed with so many features, it's clear that it was written by musicians FOR musicians. The comprehensive MIDI implementation alone has revolutionized the way I am able to focus on the music, and stop pushing buttons or pressing pedals (which my Pastor seriously appreciates). Thank you Arlo for your tireless work in continuing to improve our lives through innovative development!

Highly versatile and unique app.

I was sceptical and tried a bunch of setlist and song management apps... But this app is amazing. It rarely has bugs or crashes and the developer is super responsive. It does everything I ever wanted a setlist manager to do. I would seriously pay 4 times the amount I do to keep and use this app.

Had problems at first but after working with the developer all is working great. If you have an issue just contact support. They are fantastic and very responsive.

As a singer who suffers from a bad memory - it's always been essential to have an aid memoire around. I am using Band Helper with an AirTurn (Blue Tooth Foot Pedal). Both have just performed superbly on my last 2 gigs on an ageing Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 running CM 10.1. Arlo, the developer was very helpful fixing a few teething problems I had getting the Pedal to work. I also tried Set List Helper, and the standalone product Set List Maker, but found the BandHelper to be the best. It's customisable views in different modes is an excellent feature.

Well thought out app and able to get it to work easily. Great support from Arlo. Will recommend without hesitation.

If you are in a band or you are a solo artist that uses any type of backing music or if you just need the chords & music for your songs then this app is perfect. The developer is a great guy and is there to help you with any questions that may arise. Support is outstanding and I could not be happier with this app. It is perfect for my needs. All of the modules work seamlessly with each other. I also own the developers other program Set List Maker which is also outstanding and I was able to import my songs directly into BandHelper.

I've played in bands big and small for years and one of the biggest impediments to getting up and running was the time it takes to get charts, recordings, lyrics,etc. out to everyone. This app streamlines that process and does it well.

Downloaded on my Android and asked me for account info. I put some in and it told me it couldn't find a match, not surprising as I'd only just opened it for the first time!!! I have now created an account but it still does not recognise my account details. The one star stays.

Couldn't do without it...

Sounded good but needs to add the app requires an ongoing 3rd party subscription in description.

Looking forward to more features in the future.
