Ride for Android
It does what it's supposed to do. Am using basic Ride S model and GPS works like a charm. Installation wasn't hard, 2013 gsxr 750. Even showed my route home. Alerted me when I left that my bike was leaving. The app is excellent for the S model.
Don't waste your money. I was so excited to get the Ride system on my bike. For starters, the GPS doesn't work. I've ridden more than 1000 miles and the app thinks my bike has stayed in my parking spot. When trying to arm and disarm, the app takes about 5 minutes before telling you it couldn't contact the bike, and you have to "wake it manually". How do you wake it? Start the ignition so that it sends you all the alarms that your bike is being started. If by some work of God you do get it armed, it'll disarm itself by the end of the day. Would return it if I could. Customer service is very friendly though, so it's too bad they don't have a good system to back up.
When it works, it's fantastic! For me, it worked wonderfully for 2 weeks but then I had a few weeks with many missed trips and no alerts. It would correct. after a power cycle but only for 12 - 24 hours at most. Now it's working properly again. I still think it's worth the price and security though. I find miles are off most times as trip logging works on cell networks.
Referring to the scorpio sr1100i, great security system with alot of features! Unfortunately the app falls short on many things. First of it takes 2-3 minutes to communicate with the system only to receive a message that it could not communicate. Its also crashes often at the worst times. Example, i received a tilt alarm 12 am, i try to disarm alarm through the app but it continues to crash 4 times consecutively. They need an update to the app! Despite the apps downfall, Scorpios customer service its AMAZING! Russ has been helping me get my system up and running, thank you very much Russ!
Just purchased the plan and the damn app keeps crashing? Please can you guys fix this? (Galaxy S8+)
Switched from the old Ride system ( I had since they began selling em ) where I was getting all my notificatiions on my cell and now have the new Ride Core system I purchased 5/18 and had to send the GPS antenna back and now the system still isn't working right, waste of $$$
It does the job. Not very user friendly but once you explore you'll get the hang of it. The alarm system works as advertised.
For the money it should do more, can't work app with out going to motorcycle and it still will not take the command...
Nice, but would be nice to be able to arm and disarm from the app
I primarily use it to track my position.
Constantly having to reset.
Everything's good so far...
Needs improvment
Keeps crashing
Fantastic
Kind of just lets you know your bike is safe in greater detail and log rides. No real cool social features unfortunately. Needs more capabilities and simple stuff like a refresh button.
I can only put it in early alert mode, cannot activate the proximity sensor nor the siren, and when I check the position, it's most of the time at the end of the last ride I took, not where I really am. I wonder if it would be really useful if my bike got stolen... most of the time, the app gets no answer from the system ans it can take 1 or 2 minutes before, let's say, the system is disarmed. A lot to do to make it good, for the moment, its hottest and best feature is to give me the bike battery status...
Frequent crashes. Would be nice to activate/deactivate the alarm through the phone app. As well as adjust the settings of the sensors that can be purchased and included an any of the systems.
So firstly their customer service is awesome and they are super helpful! If you aren't sure if you have the latest firmware for your Ride module give them a shout (I used email) and they can manually push updates along with your help. Only gripes I have are: 1)for some reason I've never been able to firmware update from the app but the above kind of makes this a moot point. 2)I wish enabling/disabling early alert could be done at any time and not only with a key on then off to wake up the Ride module.
Just works, do a good installation. Motorcycle theft ring busted thanx to this alarm. Works great on my Nexus 6P.
Worked for half a day and now I can't open it at all. I hope support resolves or I will have to return this product.
System is very sporatic on coverag even in large populated cities !
waste of money for the ride core gps if this app won't stay open. If the app doesn't fix, I'm deactivating the ride core. I've reinstalled it multiple times.
The system was simple to setup, I was not able to use the programs ability to scan which is why I reduced one star. I had to manually enter my number. Everything else seems to work it definitely can utilize some more features as well as the ability to remove rides that you didn't set up. Sometimes ride will get initiated for you because the GPS signal was dropped or it was seen by another Satellite. Overall it's not a bad program I just hope they keep developing it.
I love the app and the ideas. However the functionality if very buggy. Social media integration does not function. Other features are hit or miss (ie. Geofencing, create ride, etc). Logging works fine as do the Security alerts. It truly is the best option for Motorcycle Security. They just need to work out the bugs a little more and it would be as amazing as the Ride system itself.
When it works, it's fantastic! For me, it worked wonderfully for 2 weeks but then I had a few weeks with many missed trips and no alerts. It would correct. after a power cycle but only for 12 - 24 hours at most. Now it's working properly again. I still think it's worth the price and security though.
Very buggy. Device status update takes long or just don't happen at all. Old notifications keep popping up. Got false geo fence alerts and texts while I was standing right next to my bike (though that may be an issue with the device or back end server).
Originally I gave this one star because of the apps constant crashes. Clearly they heard people's complaints and fixed the app. I still have some issues mostly regarding design and features. One important one to me being I wish they would allow us to set a notification sound for the app. I would like to be able to set a unique sound so that one that goes off I know it's an issue with my bike
The App works fine on my LG L70; fluid and responsive, the device however has some issues. First off, Ride uses Tmobile 2G towers which are borderline obsolete, because of this, early warning is pretty much nonexistent where my bike is kept. The device works great when im riding around town though. Alarm notifications appear on my phone within 15 seconds and the gps was only 3 parking spaces off when I stopped somewhere. This system would be perfect if it was able to switch between 2G/3G/4G towers
Their support is great but the app has a long way to go. Facebook crashes. can't add pictures to ride without crashing. Can't add notes to an automatically recorded ride. I think they'll get there but I don't know how long they'll take to do it.
I like the concept of this system. However it is supposed to work with the older R link as well as the ride modules. My bike is armed and sitting 20 miles from where the app is telling me it is. It also says the bike Is disarmed. Update: everything works much better after talking to customer service and resetting module on the bike and recent app update.
This alarm app is no good. You pay so much for a subscription and every time I try and use it. The alarm always says manual turn the alarm on. What's the point in having a alarm with an app if it dosent work. I have had this alarm for years and nothing ever gets fixed. Fix your bugs so this thing works properly and we get our money worth from it.
Evidently there is a length limit on reviews. Let me just say it was terrible enough that I uninstalled it for a very long time, app and device. Finally spent a week back and forth with tech support. They ultimately installed a special firmware that stopped the false alarms. Works fine now, except if I try to link the app to Facebook, crashes the app and requires a reinstall to get it working again.
Needs an update. It crashes constantly after you do one thing wrong, like try to link it to Facebook. The only way for it to become usable again after that is to uninstall and reinstall it.
I bought it for the security features which seem to work for the most part. However it rarely works when I try to enable/disable early alert. The app has a lot of issues... I'm on HTC One M8
Galaxy S6. Still srewing up......After doing a factory reset to my phone and going so far to getting a different Samsung S4, I've come to the realization that it's Verizon.....can't create rides nor update my profile........ app crashes. Summed up I like the concept but the product is not producing
I like it so far its been good very responsive the app force stops sometimes but the messages still send when the bike is moved or started. Gps is good . I like that it tracks my speed of my rides . I still have to play with the app see what more the offer. It feels good to have it. It keeps me more tranquil that i will be alerted with something happens
Love my Ride system and the app works well with a couple of little bugs on Android that don't get in the way of it's functionality. Customer support is awesome, and they are aware of the issues and continually upgrading. I love the tire pressure monitoring system - saves a lot of work checking pressure all the time. Shock and tilt work very well. Took me only 20 minutes to install the module on my bike - very simple. I'd rate it 4.5 if there was an option, because a couple of things aren't working as well as I'd like (like my app crashes when I try to add a picture of my bike to my personal profile... but really, not a big deal).
The system has been a bit glitchy lately. I keep getting false alarms about 3-4 times a day. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app but that didn't help. Please fix!

The Ride ststem gives you a false sense of security. It doesn't update its position and its location is usually wrong. The cellular feature is now via AT&T. Vehicle tracking fails if there's no cellular signal. It causes many false alarms. Installation is a challenge. Overall, in spite of good customer service, using Ride is frustrating.
