Inky Secure Mail for Android
Just install Inky and enter your email address and password (or use OAuth for Gmail accounts.) Inky will verify your account within 60 seconds, after which you can exchange encrypted email.
There are no keys, certificates, or fingerprints to manage: encrypted email with Inky works exactly like legacy insecure mail – the difference is that only the intended recipients can read the emails you send. Inky handles all the key and certificate management for you – so you don't have to be a crypto expert to send secure mail. It just works.
When you opt to encrypt email to someone who doesn't have Inky, that person will receive an email with a secure link to view the message on the web. After clicking this link, they will prove they control their email account by simply entering their email address and clicking on an authorization link in a follow-up email. They will then be shown the secure message, decrypted on their local device (keeping the message completely end-to-end encrypted.) They can also securely reply via this web page. Your recipients do not need to install anything or remember a password.
Inky's encryption technology is based on the S/MIME standard. Inky encrypts emails with AES-256, deemed suitable for classified communications at the Top Secret level by the US Government. Your private keys are kept secret, and nobody but you has access to them – not our employees, your email host, or anybody else.
Of course, Inky offers all the email and calendar features you'd expect from a modern email client – an elegant design, speedy search, and timesaving features like quick replies. You can even search your inbox with hashtags like #pdf and #package with results returned instantly, as you type. Give Inky a try, and let us know what you think by dropping a line to hi@inky.com.
Seems really good so far
I downloaded this as an alternative to Outlook for Android. I am quite pleased thus far, with or without encryption. And the cross-platform support on my laptop is nice too.
Doesn't seem to communicate to outlook that I've read an email. Currently, whenever I check my emails on the web, my inbox is a long list of unread mail even though I've opened them on this app. I have to select all and mark as read every time. Very odd, and not worth the hassle. Also, the option to mark as read directly from the notification would be helpful, and the function of the floating button should give the option to reply when inside an email. Three taps to reply seems excessive.
This the best app out there . Way ahead of the curve. Great technology
I had Mac & Android tablet installs. I tried to tweak them separately and this may have caused the bump. Now reinstalled... (Changed my tune from 5* to 3* becuz it just doesn't add convenience on either my Mac or Android.)
Gmail and outlook offer e2e encryption and most email servers also offer ssl e2e encryption when configured correctly so not sure why these guys are suggesting this is more secure when it isn't. When ever you get a man in the middle your asking for trouble. Just to remind users that your emails go through these people severs as do your passwords and for me this isn't a good idea for obvious reasons. Stick with your Gmail or outlook apps they offer plenty enough security without giving up unnecessary info.
Once you configure your account, all settings are synced on other devices. Excellent email, but hope also for new features like, themes, havent found the spam button, but I bet there is one. Paste images from clipboard, email sig.. Anyway, try it, you wont be dissapointed.
Ultimately slow with a large number of accounts at play.
I would give 5 if it was easier to setup and get used to.
Love being able to sign and encrypt email by default
Great app
Different approach, setting up your own search folders is very nice. But needs some time to see what will work for me.
Just installed inky on my Android, iMac and windows PC at work. Enjoying having the same interface regardless of OS.
I find the description of inky highly misleading. In Spite of not stating so anywhere in play store description, most essentially features such as basic access to IMAP are actually subscription based. I might have considered paying a one time fee, after the 14 day trial, but had I know it was a subscription model I would never have spent the time setting up numerous accounts.
I downloaded this godforsaken app on my android. It proceeded to download my emails archive for last 6 years! Using my phone's 4G data! Without asking!! Seriously! It downloaded over 4gb of data in the goddam background over 3 day span! Costing me $30 in overusage fees! I didnt even realise the app was doing this until my phone company rang me up to notify me. I can't believe this lousy app doesn't even notify users when taking such a drastic decision. Worst app ive ever used!
Battery drainage problem is still here. I need Inky to stop using the battery while I don't have it open. Please add an option.
This has got to be the worst email app ever. Tried to sign with my Google account and keeps getting message saying this account already exists. Of course it exists, it's my account. Tried Inky on my PC a few years ago and after a couple of times using it I couldn't login anymore. It kept saying wrong username or password. Waste of time.
God awful UI. Takes a lot more time to move around than most other email clients. Even more so for the PC client
Have inky on my PC and love it, but it uses more battery than my screen and Android is combined on my galaxy s7. If they fix that they'll get 5 stars from this guy!
My email got hacked using this app. Don't bother.
lolwut, I don't like Trump either.
Functionality is fine but had to uninstall because of above

Functionality is pretty solid. My only real concern is the amount of storage space the app is taking up. I would love it if a dark theme was thrown in there too.
