Appy Couple (New) for Android
While the rollout of this new app was rocky at best, the latest May 12 update is now usable again. I don't understand why developers would require a new app to download. Why not just update the old app, especially since the old app now does not work and just directs you to this new app. I still see a bug: notification alert settings do not save between sessions. 5 stars when all bugs are fixed!
Decided to ship a half baked update two weeks before our wedding. Tags are forever removed. Email sending is disabled. They said if should be up and running before the end of the month. Perhaps I'm supposed to postpone my wedding so their product team can ship features that used to exist? Avoid AppyCouple like the plague.
We picked AppyCouple originally for its functionality and reliability. This update altered the look of our site, which we had worked hard to polish, erased access to the dietary restrictions portion of our RSVP responses, and the updated app crashes whenever there is an attempt to view a picture. While we appreciate the attempt to make admin more mobile, this is a paid service: no version should have been allowed to eclipse the prior one without such major bugs being worked out first. Prior to this update we would have happily recommended this product; sadly, that is no the longer the case.
My new app won't even open. Gives an error message 'appy couple has stopped' . I am dissatisfied with the new update. Please fix it! Update: The new update fixed it. I am enjoying the app once again.
3 stars because I loved it before making a switch to update the app. Way to fail trials on androids. I looked at the Apple app and it is way more effective. Fix now!!!! Like previous post, why pay for this when it acts like a free app. Unhappy customer, good thing you have a few weeks until our invites officially go out. Issues: can't save notifications, can't manage my rsvp (or see the names), way more data on the iPhone than on my android.
Forced to download new app and it doesn't work. The RSVP functionality no longer works. I can't see who has RSVP'ed to the event.
Please fix the rsvp. Our rsvp deadline is in a week or so and it's the worst time for this not to work. May 12 update still does not fix rsvp.
Our wedding is this July and we're missing people's RSVPs, can't send emails anymore, app and website are both very buggy.
The design I chose has a new layout in the app now and there are things on the app that's wonky like the menu bar is not aligned center and there's a random "open" word in the middle of the home screen.

I cannot review who rsvped and who didn't, I can see the total number and not the the list of names, it is always showing "no guests"
It's a big mess. This update was not necessary. Everything was fine as it was. I wish I could have opted out. Why are we forced to update to a worse version when the original was perfectly fine? Disappointed. The bugs are very annoying to deal with 3 weeks before my wedding. Also, annoying to have to relearn how to navigate the site, as the new version is less intuitive than the original.
The RSVP management page is terrible. When you click "Ceremony," for example, you can see a check mark, X and ? mark to indicate which guests have said yes, no or maybe, except not everyone shows up that used to be on those lists. Even worse, you can't see the entire guest list anymore, so you can't RSVP on anyone's behalf via the app. I don't think any of the other features are any more beautiful or functional than they were in the old version. The update even took the slider puzzle game away!
With the new update and NO warning whatsoever, ALL of my rsvps including ALL MEAL OPTIONS for my guests have been deleted!!!! What am I supposed to do now??? Contact all of my guests again when my wedding is in a few weeks and I need to give the final count to my venue by the end of the week????? This being a service based company I would expect a refund for this type of screw up but I'm not holding my breath..
This is ridiculous. You need to revert back to the previous version. I submitting a list as long as my arm to Support because there simply is not enough space here. Anyone who reads these comments and ratings will never purchase you product. If you do not change it back I will seriously regret ever deciding to use Appy Couple.
I purchased a customized website with its own URL to find out everything would be ruined. The update dropped the theme, halted RSVPing, and has ruined the whole point on purchasing the app. I purchased the wedding website to streamlined the process. The update only caused a headache, and a big challenge I need to fix. Now I have to call every guest and explain what happened
I purchased my wedding website and app in January. Now that I downloaded the new app, I can't use it. It force closes every time I open it. My RSVP deadline is a week away and I can't event check them. This is unacceptable!
The newest update consistently crashes a few seconds after launching. This is terribly disappointing. I feel for my friend who has trusted this as a source of information for all guests attending her wedding. The developers should role back the version or fix it asap!
My son is getting married this weekend and I like to go see the countdown. Since the update I haven't been able to view anything on the app at all. I've Uninstaller and referring installed and nothing works.. what exactly was broken that you had to fix...really awful upgrade process
I purchased the app and service for my wedding in 3 months. The new update has caused the app to cease working on my phone, as well as numerous guests. I hope that there is a team working to get this buggy release ironed out as soon as possible. Otherwise there are going to be a lot of refunds due back to users... I understand that the update was based on user feedback, but shouldn't there have been a test environment? I mean, it's peoples weddings we're dealing with here...
From someone who had only recently downloaded the old version, and not done a huge amount of detail on it, I think the new version is much cleaner. I can understand peoples anger having put so much time and effort into their website, but for those just starting out, do give it a try
Poor timing to release such a buggy update with a blackout on the old app (1) on a Sunday, when so many wedding hosts and guests are attempting to use the wedding websites for planning, responding, etc. and (2) so close to peak wedding season. I still can't message or easily search through my guests or scroll through "no response" guests by event to update or learn whom I should follow up with. And I waste time fruitlessly rechecking the site/ app to see if things have gotten better. I think a comprehensive update was in order, but the rollout could have been executed a lot more smoothly and quickly, with more notice to customers.
What a crappy app! The previous version was already buggy and this upgrade is even worse! I need to give my venue my numbers for the meal choice and I can't even download the list. I have to manually click on every single guest and manually count all the meal choice. I can't believe I paid money for this app.
You don't fix a good thing unless you are going to make it better and unfortunately this update is not better. Regardless of being a current customer, the transition is not what everyone is unhappy about. The layout and functionality of this version is inferior to the last. I understand the need to rid of bugs and crashes, but these "enhancements" are certainly not from customer feedback. I am just disappointed and wish the appy team would listen to early feedback rather than hoping new customers will turn around it's low rating.
I'm a big fan of Appy Couple (and a paying subscriber) and have been using it to build a beautiful website and app over the course of the last few months. It took time and dedication. And now, with the update to the 3.0 version, all my text layouts are messed up and I'm encountering several other issues: - Text spacing (between a line and the other) is now messed up - both on the app and on the website. Adding a new line to the web editor doesn't result in a new line or spacing in the app. Which is super annoying and results in a massive block of text. - Small complementary images are now huge and totally out of place in the web version. They used to nicely and subtly complement the text header but now they're massive at the bottom of the paragraph (or rounded in the app). - Some images are cut out in the app version. - RSVP counter doesn't show the actual number of RSVPed guests. Why launching such a buggy new version when the old one was working absolutely fine?! Please fix ASAP or revert to previous version.
I love the new look of it. It's much more user friendly and clean. I have a couple issues with spacing, but otherwise it's a vast improvement from the old version.
So our wedding is 4 months away and the app was so helpful with keeping our guest list in order. Since the update, our guest cannot RSVP, the guest list has removed all the plus 1's from our confirmed guest. Now we have no ideal how many people have actually confirmed for our wedding. The emails and phone numbers have disappeared. We can't even use the mass email guest feature on the app. The guest list tags have been removed as well. How do you charge a fee to use a specific design for the app/website then change the app/website without any notice??? I did not pay for the new design features. I paid for the previous features. As I read through the other complaints, I wonder if you will even be able to fix these issues. I want these issues fixed and my money back!!!!
Update has not pulled through features from the website. With only a few weeks to go for the wedding and lots of app access requests coming in now, it's a shame and sort of embarrassing that our app doesn't look polished anymore.
I purchased the website this morning so that i can build it. Followed ur instructions on actual page to use my code . Guess what ur app does not recognise my code on ur app. I hope i get mu $$$ back as this is getting worst.
Countdown not accurate it seems to be a year out! Can't find guests who haven't replied.
I have an android but I can never seem to get out of the app once I get in it. It doesn't allow for me to back out of the app to go back to my home screen.

I loved it before the update. The new version was terrible but has since been fixed and works great. Still a few small items that need to be corrected but so far so good. Easy fun app for guests to use. Needs update on RSVP section where guests can type in song requests. They can type in but not able to submit. And for admis, can't turn on notifications. Otherwise great app again! Excited for my guests to use it
