Tiny Scanner - PDF Scanner App for Android
I'm giving this 3 stars because the free version only lets you have 3 files scanned at a time. You can avoid this by emailing them to yourself or uploading them somewhere and then deleting the local copy, so you can scan more. I understand that they are trying to upsell the paid version, but I really wish they would have limited it an more reasonable way or added ads. I might consider buying the full version except I don't think that version adds enough features. I may change my mind later on if I start using it more often. But what it does, it does great. Easy "scans" with cropping that look really good.
I'm a firm believer in handwritten notes but in the age of technology, it's always appreciated to have these on file as a hard copy. This app does an amazing job and would most definitely be a 5 star app if it could scan several pages into 1 PDF document.
It works really well, giving you professional looking files (if your camera is any good at least). I've also used it with Office Lens, to take a picture of a school white board and then pass it to this app to remove imperfection. I wish I would see this functionality of detecting geometrical figures like boards in real life camera just like Office Lens does :)
This app is very good. I use and send many pdf files via email for business purpose. But sometimes when I am only left with physical sheets of files, i quickly use this app to put the physical sheets into pdf files on my pc or mobile device. One specific drawback of the app is that sometimes words dont come out as clear as i expected. But i still recommend this app!
Tin Scanner adds another tool to my "mobile office", and it is nicely done. One might be tempted to call it a gimmick--I mean the phone already has a camera, who cares about a file format. But that misses much of the point. Not only does it turn the image into a pdf, it includes cropping and editing featured to make it very useful. And I haven't even tried the multiple page capability, yet.
Went to Staples to fax something and couldn't believe was $2.50 a page...someone told me about this app...and I've never looked back since...since I'm emailing documents throughout the week..the $4.99 spent to get it has paid for itself 100 times over already!! Easy to use..I'm a nurse not a "techy" and I've had no problem using the app!!
No negativity....every android user must have it.. Pros:- it is better than the google play store itself.... What i meant is..playstore never responds well..this scanner never let u down.. I want to write more..but playstore do not hav option for point wise presenting review...so
Scans pics etc. I think it's just another way to put your pics in storage. You definitely have you upgrade n buy 4.99 app for better options formatting pix. Can't send them directly without upgrade especially through text. Maybe I have wrong app any suggestions for quicker storage to print & edit?
Just started using this, but am happy so far. One thing that I'm extremely happy with is it isn't as picky as most scanners about complete stillness of my hands holding the phone. Yes, I have to be as still as possible but if you tremble slightly this app somehow corrects that. I have no idea how it does this but my scans are extremely clear. I'm very excited by this.
I find this app particularly useful for Personal Admin. It's better to have documents in Cloud storage than lots of paper everywhere. This app is useful as I can name a file after its initial first scan and then add more items to that one file, so when it saves as a PDF, all photo scans are saved in the one document I've titled. In your file manager location, look for "TinyScanner" and open, in there you'll find the original photo of the scanned paperwork which you may want to keep in cloud storage too. 5★
It is so easy to use a monkey Could use it. I just snap, edit, save and share all from my phone. Note 3 kudos to the Developer update: I Don't use this application slot but I will never delete it cuz when I do use it I remember just what a freaking awesomely simple and great it is. Again a great big kudos to developer. And I have tried others non were this simple or of this quality.
Dear Appxy... I am really impressed by the professional quality of the pictures and stiching up of pdfs. So I bought the app. There are serious bugs you need to be fixing. Everytime I share the PDF with my gmail and forward it to a receiver, they do not receive it. It occurred 3 times with 3 most important contact persons. I have to first send it to me, check it and forward it. I am disappointed and that's why 3 stars.
Well, I really wanted to like this app, but was never able to install it. I refuse to install an app that makes me jump through hoops just to use it. I'm speaking of course, of "Screen overlay detected" I'm sorry, but no app is worth it. Having to go into setting, turn off, (one by one I might add) all of the other apps that want to be toggled, just to give this app the OK, then go back and turn all the other ones back on. Again. I'll just find an app that doesn't make me do this.
It's bait and switch with no warning when they will demand money for continued use. I see many commenters with the same complaint. I gave a thumbs up to their posts to show support.
Very useful to keep all my receipts on file on my phone and don't have to worry about keeping them. But 1 thing, You should make it possible to choose which location (Phone Memory or SD Card) you want the picture/Document to save too. But it works Good !
The ease of use and speed make this app quite impressive. After just a single use, I found myself recommending it to others. Compared to Google's new PhotoScan app, the resolution is superior. I'm blown away by the quality. It's helpful being able to create and email PDFs through my phone. Damn!
**I still like this app, but a recent upgrade forces existing users to pay $4.99 for an upgrade to "Pro".Since I use this alot I did it. But beware*** I'm on the road 49 weeks a year and wrangling receipts was always a nightmare. This app takes great images, let's me sort them into folders, and emailing them as a PDF is a snap. It's a light application so it doesn't take loads of memory.
The app is great if you just need a way to keep photocopies of all your documents handy, but i truly wish the search feature actually searched each scans' contents, not just whatever title you gave. May as well just retype each one into notepad and attach a picture. Was a horrible waste of $5 in my opinion.
At first I was aggrevated that an app advertised as free wouldn't let me complete my first try out. Then I realized $5 vs running to the office every time I wanted to scan something cost way more than $5. It is easy to use, works great.
Try to link with some account so we have backup of things we convert. When i lost my phone and again installed this app, I couldn't retrieve anything and I lost everything. So try to link with some Gmail account or create your own account so we can back up things.
I've used this app before on an iPhone to scan receipts and it always worked fine. Today I installed it on my new android phone as I needed to scan a coloured a4 document.. the app crashed as I was scanning the 8th page. It looks like it's not so good at handling bigger documents than small bookkeeping receipts.
Could only ever take a few photos at the time before the app would crash. After three batches of documents the app won't make a fourth and will ask you to upgrade to pro. Only used as I was in a hurry but I'm sure there's better alternatives out there.
I really wanted to like this app. Sadly on trying to scan my 4th document I was faced with no choice but to purchase the paid app if I wanted to proceed. Shame on you for not making this explicit from the outset.
I work for one of the largest corporations on the face of the Earth (no lie) the account that I am on turned to Tiny scanner to solve their purchasing reporting problems. No more saving and mailing receipts to my supervisor. Now just scan and drop into our cloud storage. I love it so much I downloaded it for personal use. I will never misplace a receipt for an extended warranty ever again.
Great app I've used for years. A reviewer stated you can't make a multiple page pdf. Actually you can, and it's really easy. Take a picture, line up the corners, then save it. After you save it, at the middle bottom there's an icon of a camera with a "+" sign. Click that and, voila, a multipage pdf. Now give me a way to save it the SD Card and I'll give it 5 stars. I'm not sure where it stores the docs, but wherever it is, it was not backed up with the rest of the documents on my phone when I upgraded and I lost all my pdfs.
Tapped this by accident while in the app store. The very next day I needed a scanner, or go all the way across town to use one. Saved me time, money, energy, my life.
It took me a little bit to learn, but once I got the process down, I scanned a 26 page pamphlet in little time and then I was even able to email it to myself right then and there. How is that little feature not available on other apps? I tell ya, this "technology" stuff might catch on. (Do I sound old yet.)
It's tiny and it's fast. No doubt about it. You can get the job done without getting bothered by a ton of settings confusing you. However, instead of the five dots for different contrast levels, I'd rather have a slider for smooth, fine grain contrast selection.
I loved the app when I downloaded it, but when I went to use it a second time, I couldn't scan anything unless I paid to upgrade to the "Pro" version! I don't want to pay $4.99 to do the simple scanning I want to do. BAIT AND TRAP!!
I'm using almost everyday. Unfortunately forced me to buy Pro version but was worth it. I tried different ones but this is the best. one. I have some small problems with delays giving names for files but it could be problem of my phone and not software.
I've had this app for a long time and was able to take pics of documents and send through email as a PDF but now, it charges and would t even let me take a picture. So shady!
I use this app every day in my business. It works great for turning files into PDF form. I wasn't too happy with the fact that you have to buy the upgraded version two store more files but it's great overall.
This was a fantastic app until they changed it so it can't be used unless you upgrade. Nothing in the description about the charges or limitations. Was working two days ago, now it won't. Why have a adds version and a pro version of you want people to pay for both. Lost me!
The scanner I used at school was well... very bad. This app hepled me send the documents before the deadline. It was easy to use and of good quality! I am very grateful for the existence of this application.
Do not understand the negative reviews. Was able to scan few pages to one PDF. So easy to use I bet your cat can scan documents now. It took all about 90 seconds to figure out the different options and produce a 2 page PDF from a hand filled form and send it. Frankly it turned out better than the original. Kicking myself for not getting this app earlier.
Over all, works well. Edge detection for pages could be a bit better, but that's what the corner adjustment pins are for. Another gripe I have is that it bugs out when I try to go above 15 pages on my S5. Then again, I doubt it was designed to do 25- to 45-page scans. Still a decent app, though.
Very useful! For some reasons, scanned copies still seem more professional than photos. This let me attach "scans" to emails without having to actually resort to the archaic act of using a scanner.
The product is simple and effective. I downloaded it and was able to figure out how to use immediately. However, I am having multiple issues sharing to email and Google drive. When I broke down the file a bit it did end up sending.
This was a really good application until almost all of the options were moved to the pro version. Now the app is attempting to force me to purchase. It isn't worth 4.99 while there are still highly competitive apps that do very much the same thing.

Honestly this app is great, it does it's job, quickly, and well. The only problem is that it doesn't have a feature to scan multiple documents at once (I.e. scan 3 pages of something to all be included in one pdf). So unless your only scanning 1 page, it's a huge pain to use. You have to scan your pages, and then find some other way to combine all of it into the 1 pdf file. If they update the app and add this feature itd be a definite 5. Other wise id suggest another app called Genius Scan.
