About ICE: In Case of Emergency

Stores important information for first responders and hospital staff to use in case of an emergency involving you:

+ A list of people to call -- can call directly from the app
+ Insurance information
+ Doctor names and numbers -- can call directly from the app
+ Allergies
+ Medical Conditions
+ Medications
+ Any special instructions or other information you wish to provide

CAN USE EVEN WHEN THE PHONE IS PATTERN/PIN/PASSWORD LOCKED. For Android 4.2 & up, you can add the ICE widget to the system lock screen. For earlier versions of Android, ICE provides its own lock screen mode. The ICE lock screen also includes an optional "if found" message in case you lose your phone.

Install our companion app “Family Medical Info” to store medical info for the entire family, including vaccinations and medical history. Optionally share some or all family info with ICE. When info is shared with ICE, an additional “Family Info” category is added following Medications that will allow you or emergency service providers to access the shared info.

*** NEW: optionally use the (FREE) web version of Family Medical Info (FMI) to create & edit profiles on your computer. From Google Chrome on your computer, go to http://goo.gl/N80BQ to install the web app (currently, this only works with the Chrome browser). Or, just search for Appventive in the Chrome Web Store. Profiles created with the web version of FMI can be imported into either FMI or ICE. ***

Optionally choose to email selected information (e.g., to your doctor).

Dynamically switch between Danish, Dutch, English, French, German, Greek (Android 2.3+), Hebrew (Android 4.2+), Italian, Japanese, Polish, Spanish, Swedish and Vietnamese when travelling. If you would like to help translate ICE into a different language, please email us.

Optionally export the ICE user profile for use on other devices, or to save an off-device backup. The exported profile can also be used by Family Medical Info.

If you have any questions, suggestions, or problems, PLEASE email us.

I cannot recommend this app highly enough. It gives adequate space for notation of conditions, medications, and providers. It gives easy access to live-saving information to EMS personnel without creating a data security risk. I personally use the app, so can attest to the usability of its features. I've shared links to this app multiple times and will do so again every time the opportunity comes up. 7 out of 5 stars!

I've used this app over a year now. This app is exceptional. Most important medical info is made available when entered. It is easy to navigate and entry could not be simpler. It does lack space for two important sets if data; Immunizations and Procedures. The addition of those would cause me to give 5 Stars instead of 4.

It's a very handy and useful app along with being very easy to use. One improvement that could be made is in the lock screen, I'm wishing we were able to customise it or for it to adapt to our preset personalised locked screen;not a fan of its current layout. And the app should allow u to have it on your lock screen but NOT unlock you phone to full phone access

N70%
by N####:

now you have to press a button to get to you lock screen. why not just make this a permanent notification that shows up on the lock screen instead of a WHOLE new lock screen. super annoying. wish I hadn't bought this. when i am trying to quick access my phone I can no longer press the finger print button and unlock my phone. I have to get out of the ICE screen to access the lock screen. God this app is annoying.

by T####:

This is a great app, even if you don't have a major health problem. The main problem that I have on my ics LG phone is that it frequently interferes with my lock screen and power settings. If I turn on the phone just briefly to see the time, and never unlock the screen, I have to let the ICE program load for quite a few seconds before turning the phone back off; otherwise the ICE turns the screen back on because it's continuing to load and becomes a bit of a battery drain. I'm considering uninstalling.

by T####:

Most of us use a lock screen of some type and you cannot access the app without getting past lockscreen. The notification button pops up, but when you press it to open the app you are prompted for your passcode. It used to work, but not anymore. Since it no longer works independently from the lock screen, it is now basically useless and no longer serves its primary function. When the devs fix it so it starts working independently from the security lock screen on HTC-M8 One again I will give it more stars.

I really like this app! It really comes in handy during doctor appointments. It also has come in handy when I had a medical emergency, several months ago. I just have 1 question. On my previous phone (Moto X), I found a way to place a widget on my lock screen instead of using your lock screen. Is there a way to do it on my Samsung Galaxy S5? I would still like a suggestion on how to make a widget work on the lock screen, I noticed that in a more recent comment, you told a customer that it could be done!

The app has improved so I am updating my review. Overall it's a good functional app. One issue: my job requires me to have security on my phone to protect client information. Also, in an emergency situation I need to have my family's medical info on my lock screen. Your app just has a button that says "unlock screen". The only way I can have both features is to have 2 lock screens: ICE then one with a pattern. Please add security to your lock screen, either as a pattern or as a pin. I'll update when fixed.

Y70%
by Y####:

It keeps your info, but the lock screen feature (which was the only reason I was willing to pay for an ICE app) does not work all that well. It doesn't work with your phone's lock screen; it's in *addition* to the actual lock screen, so to keep your phone password protected you have to go through 2 lock screens. To top it off, this app likes to suddenly interrupt whatever you're doing and kick you back out to the lock screen again.

Works perfectly with my Samsung Note 4. No problems with my lock screen or with my generic alarm clock (re other users' comments). Has some nice touches like a sound-vibrate-no sound slider button and nifty little box that displays the cellphone owner's contact info in case the phone is lost. Well worth this app's small price.

by Y####:

Not sure if it was Lollipop but it doesn't matter, all apps must optimize for major uodates. Wish I'd never paid for an app as nice as this that will not work with MAJOR ANDROID UPDATES. And BTW I know exactly how to use the app. Worked perfectly before Lollipop.

This works so well on my galaxy S3 and so important if anything happens to you. I have an 8 digit security code. ICE works great with it with no problems at all. DONT BE TIGHT GUYS BUY IT you won't regret it. I would like the programmers to change to allow us to copy and paste into the apps

This is the best ICE app i've ever seen & it displays on my locked screen. This lil beauty deserves 5 stars and may save your life. Really worth having, & it works well on my Samsung G6 as it did on my old G4.

This App has proven itself to be extremely useful I had to unfortunately be rushed to the hospital & as usual the EMT's & Dr's had all these questions so I just opened the App & pointed that got all the info they needed. I suggest this App to the world, great support too. I just wish they would update it once in a while.

I loved this app, it was more yam worth the price I paid for it. But it doesn't work on my new phone at all. It flashes open just for a second and then vanishes. I was so disappointed - I have a chronic condition and use this app a lot. I really hope it's updated for the S6.

T70%
by T####:

Apparently this only shows on certain os' lock screens. The workaround doesn't work if you use pattern lock either. That should be clearer - I only bought this because I wanted the lock screen feature, without that it's basically useless to me.

T70%
by T####:

Lock screen leaves a lot to be desired. Routinely switches to other languages by accident. Can't play voice mail messages bc the ICE lock screen comes up after about 2 sec of message playing. Over and over. Sometimes when you unlock, it briefly goes away for a second, then reappears and you have to unlock again.

T70%
by T####:

Would have got five stars if it did not mess up the alarm clock. Alarm clock is ded quiet when lock screen is activated. The option to prevent this does not work either. I'm on a Samsung S3 mini with 4.1.2. Fix this, please!

As a medic with personal health issues, this is the app I recommend to my patients and use myself. It is easy to use, covers all necessary areas and is user friendly. I highly recommend this ICE app over all others I have seen.

I70%
by I####:

From the screenshot you can't understand the app create a second lock screen that overlay the stock one. This is unpleasant to see and annoying. If I knew it I wouldn't have purchased. And my little two cents. The contract people should have a field to specify the language spoken by the person

Love the app, have used on several phones now. But S4 and now S7 the app let's you in but then takes you back to the Ice screen. Have to slide the bar again. Author noted earlier response to put as lock screen widget, but that capability was removed in the later Android versions. So now just stuck with the bug until the author fixes it at some point. Otherwise it is fantastic.

S70%
by S####:

When setup on my lockscreen, this app has a tendency to lag my phone something terrible. I only set it up on my lockscreen prior to going mountain biking. Otherwise, I disable it 'til I need it. For reference, I'm using a Note 4 (5.0.1) on Verizon's network. Other than that... it's not a bad app.

S70%
by S####:

Quite good app. I would put a 5 star if this app had better Lollipop lock screen integration. Indeed, I always need to click on "Unlock" then enter my PIN every time to unlock the phone. I can add a delay to avoid this problem but I don't like to put a delay for an ICE app. Also, I cannot use the black wake up screen without the ICE screen to get opened.

W70%
by W####:

It is easy to find the information quickly. The lock screen didnt disable my lock screen wallpaper or pattern password. The only thing that I feel should be added is a section for identifying marks incase the face is to damages to reconize

S70%
by S####:

This app is an absolute necessity. It does however, need a 1 second delay. I am afraid waiting 2 seconds that emergency personnel could put the phone down thinking that they could not access the information. Change to a 1 second delay and I would happily give you 5 stars.

S70%
by S####:

The information contained with the app is fantastic and is everything that would be needed in the car of an emergency. On the other hand the lock screen integration with lollipop is horrible, it always replaces the lock screen with it's own, dated lock screen just to open the app. Once this gets a modern lock screen or better integration with the current versions of Android this will be fantastic.

T70%
by T####:

This is a brilliant app and I want to give it 5 stars, but my only one gripe is when I put it my NHS Number it won't show up under the special instructions, I go back into edit and it's all there, I have a Samsung S6 edge maybe there's a fix?

N70%
by N####:

It silences your alarms with the update. So if you use your phone for a morning alarm as I do, or you have alerts on your phone, they don't allow the phone to ring through. I over slept.

I70%
by I####:

Unquestionably, the core of the app is useful, and does what it needs to do. The problem is that the visual design is beyond appalling. Ugly is a massive understatement. I use minimalistic text to bypass the widget, but nonetheless, something needs to be done, both in this app and in the category in general.

S70%
by S####:

This app has very poor integration with the stock Lollipop lock screen. It's version of a lock screen "widget" is to show a fake lock screen with the ICE banner on it where you click or swipe to get to your real lock screen. Booo. I understand that lock screen widgets have gone away in Lollipop after reading about this problem, so it may not entirely be the app developer's fault. However now I'm out the price of the app and I've supported an app I feel doesn't deserve my support. Oh and when charging, the ICE lockscreen comes up and has to be cleared before the phone's screen shuts off. Very poor form, indeed. Oh and be careful what info you put in the app, it shows up on an all or nothing basis. App looks horrible, no attention has been paid to making this a pretty app. User experience is VERY clunky. If google had make this app, it never would have been released. Sorry, hate to make that comparison, but I have to for an app, I'll be seeing every time I unlock my phone! Disabling lock screen info for now. I'm giving it 2 stars because it simply does only what it advertises: Aggregate ICE info, and make it available without unlocking the device. However, it fails to impress.

Love this app. The only problem I have with it, is it won't let my alarm clock go off. I set my clock for 1 minute and it didn't go off until I unlocked the app. This needs to be fixed and I'll rate it higher. I use my alarm for many different reasons and I need this fixed or it will be a waste of $4 cause I'll have to Uninstall it.

Multilingual support great for traveling. Simple, fast tab-based navigation for ICE responders. Works great with or without PIN unlock. ICE slide-to-unlock screen comes up on top of PIN lock screen after configurable delay (2sec is perfect for me). Put the ICE icon on your home row for easy access. The only feature it lacks is an always visible ICE icon in the notification bar, like weather apps show temperature.

Used to be an excellent 5 star app. Latest version no longer backs up data, nor exports. 3 months with no reply to support help request emails. Will upgrade rating if and when developer replies with help. Very disappointed with lack of response from a dev who used to respond to emails within a couple of hours.

I had this app on my lock screen for about 3 weeks. Since then, I've had trouble with my alarms in the morning. I set 3 sound alarms daily- this app causes first alarm to not make any noise, and automatically snoozes it. If the phone screen is dark, alarms will not make noise even if they're set to. Once the screen is bright (and remains bright) the other alarms will function properly. I just tested this by disabling the ICE lock screen and now my alarms work perfectly. I'll update my review when fixed.

P70%

This app should be amazing, but isn't. Plain and simple. It rarely shows up on my lock screen. I've noticed it only shows up if I've opened the app before locking my phone. Then it does, and works great... under the assumption I pre open the app EVERY TIME I use my phone. The whole idea was a just in case, not a "hold up emergency situation, I need to unlock my phone, open a specific app, lock my phone, then it might work to do it's only job."

If you have health issues that make it likely that a first responder will need your health information this is a good app. I do not but wanted to have this information readily available *just in case* since we never know. This app makes its own lock screen and it behaved strangely from the start. Weird to always be dropped into the Google App after unlocking the phone. Might help, certainly will not hurt.
