Group Ringtones

If your phone doesnt include the feature of different ringtones per group then this app is what you are seeking!! The only reason I am not giving it a five star is because when you add a new member to a group it does not automatically changes the ringtone, an update of the group is needed

Great idea, but certainly didn't work on my Bionic. No errors reported. In fact you'd almost think it worked, except that when it's done applying, it didn't =o(

This app was good on earlier versions of Android, but it doesn't work well on the latest versions. I cannot clear the defaults, some groups are duplicated and the group lists show that the ringtone is always the default... the app needs an update.

It would be perfect if the names inside the groups (after choosing the appropiate ringtone) would appear in alphabetical order, that way you could choose easier which contacts, if any, to remove from the group. Great app, I highly recommend it.

I select the group, then the tone, then it opens the list of group members, which is always empty, no matter how many members are actually in the selected group. So it is unusable. motorola defy+, stock android 2.3.6

Tip: last ringtone setup is the one that works; so if u remove someone from group, it will keep last setup, requiring reassignment. This app could become a group manager to be a complete solution.

Does what it says. If you change members of group you have to run the app again to update, obviously... :-) Very useful. Thanks.

On Xperia Z2 (4.4.2) when assign non-standard ringtone then error message appears and ringtone name not displayed below the group, but ringtone actually is set for contacts.

It also changes notification ringtone..creat confusion whether it is call or just msg..uninstalling

As a free app. Its acceptable. Agree withJohn M too after upgrading

I like assigning lots of goofy ringtones to individuals and groups and this works but is too buggy to bother with. It displays a number instead of sound file name after assigning a ringtone and doesn't assign the tone to new additions to a group.

Really useful, as said it doesn't show the correct selected tone in the app but the tones are assaigned correctly. If you can undo it will be perfect.

Updates ringtones for all contacts in a group thru a batch operation. Simple, works great. HTC Sensation

Shows as 2 different folders, contacts assigned to a group in outlook and in the phone (i.e."friends" and "system group: friends"). No "favorites".

Working perfect. As it is one year since last updated, every update should be welcomed!

Love to know if it's work, family, friends, etc calling before I even look at my phone. .. especially if it's just the default ringtone, meaning the person calling isn't in my phone at all to be put in a specific group with a specific ringtone, most likely not even worth digging out of my purse to answer! Lol... super lightweight app as well!

This worked great on my Photon. I was surprised this feature wasn't built into Android as it was built in on my 4 year old palm that the new phone replaced.

This is a very useful app, but I have encountered some issues since upgrading to Android 4.4.2. Group Ringtones will now display non-system ringtones as six digit numbers, rather than the ringtone name. Also, some of my Groups are now displayed twice in the app. Still works, but it would be great if these issues could be fixed!

I really enjoy it. It works really well. The only downside is that you have to select the ringtone before you can see which contacts are actually a part of that specific group. I have multiple gmail accounts on my phone with separate contacts in each (personal, work, school) and each of them are called "My Contacts." So there are four different "My Contacts" groups. So it takes a couple tries to figure out which account is which. My only suggestion would be to label which account the "My Contacts" list is linked to.

This app works on my Sony Z2 (Kitkat 4.4.2) but has a few setting bugs. If you select a preinstalled ringtone it works perfectly. The ringtone name is displayed under the group and is set against all phonebook entries in that group. But, if you assign a ringtone you've installed yourself, the message "Error setting ringtone. Plesae set a different ringtone." (including the typo!) appears for a few seconds then the app assigns the chosen (self-installed) ringtone correctly. However, the previously chosen (preinstalled) ringtone name is still displayed under the group. Anyway, it works -- the right ringtone sounds on receiving a call!

Everything is good about this app, I wonder why ICS dont have it as default. By the way, I really hope that Dev Team could add time-schedule function, so the ringtones will automatically switch follow by the set of time day by day, if so then it'd be ROCKKKK!! Thank you all again for this great app :)

Thank goodness, a solution to assigning ringtones to existing groups. It took me several other attempts before finding this much simpler solution. Mind you this should be a feature in contacts, who knows why it's not! Thank you devs for this great app.

Didn't work at all on my Verizon Wireless Motorola RAZR. All calls still used default ringtone. The only thing I don't like about my new phone is the loss of this feature.
