No landscape mode! That makes it almost useless for tablets.

R70%

Great app for reading the news of LA

C70%
by C####:

Unfortunately the app stalls at every story. It is difficult to read through headlines when they pause. I am considering removing my online subscription due to these issues.

D70%
by D####:

Half the time I open the app it tells me I haven't subscribed and I only have one article left this month. Then I hit the back button a few times and it suddenly remembers my log in. Annoying

M70%
by M####:

What did you guys do to this app? It slowed this week to unusable speed. It halts for 30 seconds or more to load ads.

E70%
by E####:

I use it on my phone, where is is a great source for everything that happened on the East Coast while I was still asleep. Also good for breaking news.

R70%
by R####:

I have a subscription, I was able to read unlimited articles on the app. Now I have to pay for an additional subscription. Is LAT, crazy? They must be if they think I'm paying them more money.

R70%
by R####:

It's saving trees. ????

W70%
by W####:

Embrassed to live in LA. see the wall street journal app. This is too slow. The tiles are too big. I like the enewspaper.

R70%
by R####:

Crashes constantly on my Pixel 2. Ready to cancel my subscription

R70%
by R####:

Crashes on launch 100% of the time.

K70%
by K####:

Sluggish and terrible copy paste controls. I want to read and share your news but the app is making it difficult

R70%
by R####:

Good Times content, but crashes after opening 5-10 articles.

R70%
by R####:

Won't load at all on my Pixel XL. I get the splash screen and then the app dies. I have an online subscription so I'll just continue to read in a browser

R70%
by R####:

Slow to load, useless categories with multiple duplicate stories, sections that go a month without updates.

R70%
by R####:

Gltchy unresponsive and a general pita. And what's with the portrait only orientation?

R70%
by R####:

It worked for a little while. Now, all it does is crash. The app is horrendous and I keep sending error logs. So far, no response and I'm probably cancelling my subscription because of it.

B70%
by B####:

I appreciate the effort to provide quality local journalism. But the app itself is largely useless as headline notifications don't work. Touch notification to read article is still ridiculously inconsistent. Sometimes it works, mostly it takes me to an article I read much earlier. What's the point of notifications if all they do in the end is let me know there's an interesting article that I'll have to search for? LG G4, Nexus 7.

Ehhh... it does the job.

R70%
by R####:

Very little real news. Almost all opinion.

E70%
by E####:

Vastly improved app. Great layout, easy to scan headlines or zoom in for detailed reading.

R70%
by R####:

I think this app is great. Very easy to use and keeps me updated with the news.

H70%
by H####:

One of the nation's best news sources. Just had to add it to my resources.

R70%
by R####:

The app often freezes, especially after zooming in on text.

R70%
by R####:

I love the content but the app itself is not great. Often does not update correctly and breaking new stories in sports load way down on the list while old stories stay on top, making them difficult to find. News alerts take me to a screen that do not recognizable me as a subscriber and so I have to relaunch the app to get access. App shuts down by itself too often. Can be slow to load.

D70%
by D####:

Keeps crashing

R70%
by R####:

Crashes

R70%
by R####:

Great for California and national news and they seem to have fixed the bugs that previously prompted me to give it a 3 star review.

Y70%
by Y####:

Freezes a lot. As others have mentioned, when zooming. Loads very slowly. Lots of ads pop up. Why am I paying for ads that are annoying?

W70%
by W####:

Horrible. Slow. Notifications often take me to a screen that says I've read my 5 free articles already so I have to go to the app directly and sometimes the story cannot be found there. Infuriating. And I am an LA Times subscriber... but maybe not for long.

Q70%
by Q####:

Essential information, but the user interface is very clunky and runs poorly on my low-end HTC.

R70%
by R####:

Seems to crash over and over. I have a paid subscription and may cancel.

U70%
by U####:

Horrible app. Constantly crashes. Can't even read an article once before it forces me to close.

R70%
by R####:

Brand new install on a Moto X4 with Oreo and it just crashes once you log in as a subscriber. The app never was great, but now it's totally useless.

R70%
by R####:

Feels sluggish and wonky at times is my reason for giving 3 stars. Otherwise I suppose it's fine.

L70%
by L####:

I just subscribed to their service. The app is useless since it crashes upon opening. I don't want to use the website. Does anybody know if this app will be fixed soon. I really enjoy reading the news via apps.

R70%
by R####:

Always great news
