The app gives useful information in a timely manner

I used to get them often I liked when information was texted as soon as something happens. I don't like looking to see if things are going on. I thought alert alerted you. If it doesn't work out i'll delete the app.

Good info but sometimes too biased. Supposed to report unbiased news.

I'd give the app a 5 if I didn't have to open every article twice so the ad that's covering a paragraph of the article would shrink. Every single time I open one to read, the ad blocks several sentences. The only way I can get it out of the way is to close, then reopen it. What a pain!

Easy to use!

App is so-so. It really sucks that the Peninsula only has the Daily Press.

Obits with ads are very tacky. If removed would rate higher.

New version requires you to pay to read certain stories. There are too many free local news apps to pay for this. Daily press must be hurting for money.

I really like the news alerts it sends throughout the day. Good app. I can get my local and national news easily and anywhere now. For continuous access one needs subscription which makes sense. It's like paying for your daily paper. Those who complain in other comments want it for free. Please show respect to people's hard work and pay for your news.

This used to be a great app. I will just use my browser and other news apps now. I refuse to pay by the article. I buy the paper, you can keep your app. Thank you for a great app up to now.

Articles pertaining to public safety should be free to the public.

Sucks you can only read 10 stories without paying. It used to be free until I updated the app.

What is the point of the app if I can't read anything. I have used this app since it became available, now they are going to limit me to what I can read. I have just deleted this app from my phone and am seriously considering cancelling my subscription to the actual paper. RIDICULOUS! !

Have always used this app - until this update. What good is a free news app if I have to pay to read the stories? 10 free is a joke. Will be deleting after posting.

While alerts come up quickly, the main page takes longer each time to load. Last time took 15 minutes!

Great App. Would like App to offer landscape and portrait mode on tablet.

For sum reason this ish keeps forceclosing when I try to open it!!!!!! Didn't used to do it, had this app ova a year!!!!

I paid for the subscription. You can't cancel on line, you have to call. It's a source of nothing and then they want paid. I see why the newspaper industry is dead. They still can't figure out how to make money in any age.

Outstanding app for news. Virginia Pilot should take the hint and stop being greedy.

This is a far cry from an upgrade! More like a rock bottom down grade. And there's no way to get the previous version back! Good bye Daily Press!!!!

This update ruined the app.

An ad plays out of view and the audio keeps going when the app closes. Makes app unusable. Will update review when this gets fixed.

I had to delete the app. The new add noise was just too much.

Ad now plays a video that is out of view and with audio. Audio continues after app is closed. I hope the people who are buying the ad space see this, you can't even tap on the ad to see what it is.
