Divadla ABC a Rokoko

Městská divadla pražská vznikla spojením několika divadel v r. 1950. Působiště i složení divadla, které disponovalo mnoha scénami a jediným, poměrně velkým souborem, se častokrát měnilo. V období působení legendárního ředitele Oty Ornesta, pod jehož vedením dosáhlo divadlo nejvetšího věhlasu, hrál soubor na třech scénách - v Divadle ABC, v divadle Komedie a v Komorním divadle. Uváděl se zde klasický repertoár a moderní západní dramatika. Pod režijním vedením samotného Ornesta a jeho kolegů Macháčka, Hudečka a Radoka zde vznikl soubor vynikajících hereckých osobností, které určovaly podobu českého herectví po několik desetiletí. Za normalizace byl Ota Ornest odvolán, nahradil ho Ladislav Poživil, který se snažil v nelehkých podmínkách udržovat dobrou tradici Městských divadel pražských, které tehdy působilo na scénách Divadla Rokoko, divadla Komedie a Divadla ABC. Zůstalo to tak i v době, kdy se repertoár stal poplatnějším jak režimu, tak odlehčené zábavnosti. Bylo dále divadlem velkých hereckých individualit a kvalitních inscenací, vznikajících pod vedením režiséra Františka Mišky, Ladislava Vymětala a posléze Karla Kříže, jehož působení vytvořilo další velkou éru Městských divadel pražských. Po roce 1989 se divadla rozdělila na tři samostatné subjekty s vlastními soubory a vlastním uměleckým vedením, divadlo Komedie se pak osamostatnilo úplně. Od r. 2005 se s nástupem Ondřeje Zajíce na místo ředitele stávají Divadlo ABC a Divadlo Rokoko opět společným subjektem, jak tomu bylo v dobách největší slávy divadla - jediným souborem, působícím na dvou scénách. In the period the legendary director Ota Ornest, under whose leadership reached divadlo greatest fame, played a set on three stages - ABC Theatre, the Comedy Theatre and the Chamber Theatre. Featured here are classic repertoire and modern Western drama. Directed by himself and his colleagues Ornest Machacek, Hudečka Radok and there was a set of outstanding theatrical personalities that shaped the Czech acting for several decades. For normalization Ota Ornest recalled, he was replaced by Ladislav Poživil who tried in difficult conditions to maintain the good tradition of the Prague Metropolitan Theatres, who had been working on scenes Rokoko Theatre, Comedy Theatre and the Theatre ABC. It remained so even when the repertoire became poplatnějším both mode and lightweight entertainment value. It was also a theater major actors' personalities and the quality of productions produced under the guidance of director Francis bowl, Ladislav Vymětal and later Charles Cross, whose work formed the next great era of Prague City Theatres. After 1989, the theater was divided into three separate entities with their own files and their own artistic leadership, theater, comedy, then became independent completely. Since r. 2005, with the advent of Andrew Hare instead become director of the ABC Theatre and Rokoko again a common entity, as it was in its heyday theater - the only ensemble acting at two venues.
