About Nigerian Baptist Convention
The Nigerian Baptist Convention, which Thomas Jefferson Bowen started in 1850, has grown into over 10,000 Churches with about 3,000,000 baptized members and up to 6.5 million non-baptized members spread across the nation.
This denominational entity has metamorphosed into thirty-one Conferences (ecclesiastical regions) in Nigeria alone.
The work has spread to several other African nations including Republic of Benin, Cote D’Ivoire, Mali, Sierra Leone, Mozambique, Chad, Niger, and Burkina Faso.
The United Kingdom and the United States of America are also experiencing the influence of its growth and expansion.
As a national corporate body, the Nigerian Baptist Convention has the task of sharing the truth of salvation to all and sundry through our Churches, Associations, Conferences and Ministries.
To this end, the following slogan states our vision: KINGDOM GROWTH: MOVING FORWARD, BREAKING NEW FRONTIERS. We employ a holistic approach to minister to humankind – men, women, and children. We also minister to meet special needs of students, youths, refugees, prisoners, natural disaster victims.

This is the way to go, fellowship at our finger tip. May God bless our leaders for this laudable initiative. I look forward to conferences, association and churches to follow in like manner.
