Mark All SMS Read for Android
After clearing app data a few times and then rebooting, it worked - moto force z
Didn't work for me. While the stock app was complaining that there were hundreds of unread messages, this app said that zero messages marked as read.
I'd give it five stars & buy the pro version if I could choose to have no confirmation popup
This is a wonderful app!! Unfortunately, I have 32,000 unread texts and I can't tell if it's working or not. Could you please add a progress bar??
It temporarily makes itself there messaging app, marks them read, them restores your real messaging app as default. Takes one second and 2 clicks. Awesome.
Works as described but takes over as default then asks to switch back ( no explanation of this in app - had to learn in reviews). Will not mark as read messages with pictures or multiple recipients.
Doesn't seem to handle group conversations very well. Still I started with around 250 unread messages, ran the app, and then ended up with about 28 unread. All the remaining unread messages were group chats with 3 or more people. I had to manually open those to mark them as read. Using a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge
Terrible useless app. Stay clear.
Does exactly what it says on the tin, without spam or weird permissions. Thanks a ton!
Did not work for me.
Doesn't work. Uninstalled.
Does exactly what it says. Also it's good that it switches back to your original sms app when done.
Simply does not work for me
Does not work
Cleared most of my unread messages but not all. Good start.
Does what it says. Three clicks, done.
Does not work
awsome and really simple app to mark all messages as read.
Doesn't work
Absolutely brilliant. Finally my SMS unread counter is back to zero. For months its being indicating "2" unread messages, because they of which I was unable to locate anywhere. This very simple app has performed its one simple function perfectly. AND, unlike the numerous other unread SMS reset apps I see in play store, this one free AND without ads. Thank-you.
It's ask to make itself default messaging app only for 1st time. Now this app never ask me again to replace it from default app when I tab big check mark hence its not works any more. Fix it to get better ratings. Device: Android 4.4.2 (Rooted) A Little Spark July 24, 2015 Please try clearing app data and try again. Muhammad Saqib Sabir: July 25, 2015 Thank You for your response. Uninstalled and then reinstalled it. Now It's working fine. I don't want to use any other app due to this app is simple and lightweight and features are enough for my needs. I have changed my ratings, Hope this bug will never come again.
I restored all my data to a Galaxy S7 Active when my last phone was stolen, leaving me with over 11,000 unread messages. Manually marking them would have been a tremendous chore, but this app took care of the problem. The only issue is that it requests to be the default messaging app with each activation. Still, it completely fulfills its purpose.
Worked perfectly. Took about 10 seconds from download to execution to uninstall. UPDATE: And then the "5" on my Messenger badge returned minutes later... Further details: Samsung Galaxy S7, T-Mobile. New phone. Came with a Messages app. I downloaded & installed Android Messages app, as that's what I'd used before. After setting up new phone & bringing over texts with Samsung Smart Switch, both text apps showed 5 unread messages (which I couldn't locate). Clearing badge worked only for a short while. The 5 always came back on both. Used this Mark All SMS Read app. Worked on Google Messages briefly. 5 came back. Seems to have worked permanently on Samsung/T-Mobile's Messages app. So, I uninstalled Google Messages & use the pre-packed Messages. So, of 2 messaging apps on my phone, this worked for 1 but not the other. Kooky.

It takes 3-4 screen clicks to mark as unread. Why can't it all be a single click? It doesn't feel like it's saving much time.
Messages are remarked as not read if switch back to messenger as the default app.
If you are going to make an app, ensure the damn thing works, so frustrating
Fantastic tool - just what I needed to re-set notification badges when using Nova Launcher for the first time. Thanks for developing a great utility!
Efficient, simple, dev even chose to make it ad-free. Props to you. I'll make sure I get the donate version when I have some funds.
Super! Finally I can....wait! Ahhh 999 more spam sms! All read! Done!
With just one click/tap all the messages were marked as read!
Why android doesn't have this built in, God only knows
It does one thing, and it does it well.
Doesn't mark group chats as read
Three clicks and done. Easy.
Perfect
Quick and does as ordered
Worked perfectly
Perfection!

After installing, allowing the app to become default, hitting the check mark to mark all read, I returned to the default messenge app. After returning it to default, 153 unread messages! I have just completed reading them... One by one.
