myGilbert for Android
This town App is AMAZING. Thank You.
I just moved to Gilbert and was excited to see a city app partly as I'm not going to call pd dispatch every time I see graffiti, I'd rather just paint over it. The only useful tabs are the last two, directory and reporting. The GPS function can never find my address even though Google maps can, and it's too many questions if you ask me. Put everything on one page so I'm not clicking next ten times to submit. Also the camera should support using the phone gyro so I stop taking upside down photos!
Everytime I launch the app it says no connectivity.

Upon first opening the app, I noticed that it is not optimized for HD screens, which is the majority of Android devices sold today (normal hdpi - 71% share). Then a popup occurs telling you if there is an emergency call 911, okay I get it, but I don't think anyone would use this app to try and report an emergency. It consists of (5) "tabs" the first of which is just a welcome tab. Does nothing for me after the first time I read it. Second tab is "about" listing the mayor and council members, with photos and emails etc. Again, not something I am that interested in on my phone. Should I need that info, I can find it online. Next is "Contact" which could be useful, but it doesn't really have info, click on something and it opens the web browser. Fourth Tab is useful in that it has phone and addresses for local departments, admin, muni, fire, police. Might be useful some time. The last tab is the most useful, a way to report an issue. It lists out types of issue to choose from and allows taking a photo etc. Kind of nice when you are out and about. Keep that tab, add a section for local events, news, happenings around Gilbert and improve the UI!
