INQUADRA&IMPARA

Inquadra&Impara è un’applicazione per dispositivi mobili, gratuita, sviluppata nell’ambito dell’Avviso Pubblico Creativi Digitali - Sviluppo di idee progetto per una nuova generazione di App - “App On” POR FESR Lazio 2007-2013 - Regione Lazio - Asse I - “Ricerca, innovazione e rafforzamento della base produttiva”. L’app è stata progettata con l’obiettivo di identificare univocamente e riconoscere un’opera d’arte, per poi mostrare all’utente dei contenuti multimediali di approfondimento dell’opera stessa: dalle caratteristiche alle tecniche impiegate, dal movimento artistico di riferimento alle curiosità legate ad esso. L'app sfrutta le caratteristiche della Realtà Aumentata, ovvero l’arricchimento della percezione sensoriale attraverso contenuti informativi e cognitivi non immediatamente rilevabili da un essere umano. I contributi sono dunque forniti in tempo reale in base al contenuto semantico di cui l’utente ha bisogno, e presentano l’indubbio vantaggio di essere erogati in modo interattivo e direttamente manipolabile.
Inquadra&Impara nasce con l'intento di valorizzare l'immenso patrimonio artistico italiano, contaminando l'arte così come la intendiamo in senso classico con la tecnologia attualmente a disposizione nel quotidiano. Il progetto mira infatti a potenziare le modalità di fruizione delle opere d'arte, offrendo una serie di indicazioni di carattere informativo-culturale e turistico rivisitate in un'ottica moderna e avanzata.
Inquadra&Impara svolge una funzione semplice e al tempo stesso complessa: utilizzando un algoritmo di elaborazione delle immagini acquisite dalla fotocamera dello smartphone, l'app è in grado di riconoscere e distinguere i dipinti presenti nel museo o nella galleria che si sta visitando. Tale algoritmo, sviluppato ad hoc, si avvale delle più moderne tecniche di Image Processing e Object Recognition. In parallelo, è stato progettato un motore di realtà aumentata, progettato per sfruttare le caratteristiche hardware del dispositivo mobile, che consente di fornire tutte le informazioni aggiuntive sovrapponendole virtualmente al quadro stesso, così da offrire all'utente finale una fruizione aumentata dei contenuti.
Le informazioni fornite da Inquadra&Impara sono varie; la percezione sensoriale infatti può essere arricchita con contenuti testuali di approfondimento, sottofondi musicali, immagini fisse sovrapponibili all'inquadratura originale, video interattivi e tutte quelle risorse multimediali che possono migliorare l'esperienza dell'utente finale.
Uno dei punti di forza del sistema risiede nella copertura a 360 gradi di quelle che possono essere le esigenze di un settore così importante come quello dei beni culturali: oltre al lato utente, infatti, viene offerto in parallelo un servizio che pensa anche alle gallerie d'arte e ai musei. Per questo infatti è stato reso operativo un portale web concepito per semplificare il più possibile l'inserimento dei contenuti da parte del personale appartenente al luogo in questione, lasciando al tempo stesso la più ampia scelta in termini di informazioni da fornire agli utilizzatori finali: oltre ai contenuti testuali, infatti, è previsto l'inserimento di file musicali, riferimenti web e video, garantendo un'interattività completa e divertente.
Grazie a un’interfaccia intuitiva e una modalità di funzionamento semplice come il gesto di scattare una foto, l’applicazione si rivolge a tutte le fasce di età e pubblico e può essere utilizzata per apprendere e arricchire il proprio bagaglio culturale in maniera facile e divertente.
Un particolare ringraziamento va al team di OpenCV per la dedizione e la qualità con cui portano avanti il progetto Open Computer Vision, che rende possibile la creazione di prodotti come Inquadra&Impara. Frames & Learn is an application for mobile devices, free, developed under the Public Digital Creative - Development of project ideas for a new generation of App - "App On" ROP ERDF 2007-2013 Lazio - Lazio Region - Axis I - "Research, innovation and strengthening of production." The app has been designed with the aim to uniquely identify and recognize a work of art, then show the user the multimedia content of deepening the work itself: the characteristics of the techniques employed, the artistic movement of reference to curiosities related to it. The app takes advantage of Augmented Reality, or the enrichment of sensory perception through informative content and cognitive not immediately detectable by a human being. Contributions are therefore provided in real time based on the semantic content of which the user needs, and have the added advantage of being delivered interactively and directly manipulated.
Frames & Learn was founded with the aim of enhancing the immense artistic Italian, contaminating the art as we understand it in the classic sense with the technology currently available in the newspaper. The project is thus intended to strengthen the methods of experience works of art, offering a number of indications of an informative-cultural and tourist revisited in a modern and advanced.
Frames & Learn plays a simple, yet complex: using an algorithm processing images captured by the camera of the smartphone, the app is able to recognize and distinguish the paintings in the museum or the gallery that you are visiting. This algorithm, developed ad hoc, uses the most modern techniques of Image Processing and Object Recognition. In parallel, it was designed an augmented reality engine, designed to take advantage of the hardware features of your mobile device, allowing you to provide any additional information superimposing virtually the same framework, so as to offer end users an increased use of content.
The information provided by Just point & Learn are varied; sensory perception can in fact be increased in terms of textual depth, background music, still images superimposed into the scene original, interactive video and all the multimedia resources that can improve the end user experience.
One of the strengths of the system lies in the 360-degree coverage of what may be the needs of such an important sector as that of cultural heritage: in addition to the user side, in fact, is offered in parallel a service that is also believed to galleries 'Art and museums. For this fact has been made operational a web portal designed to simplify as much as possible the integration of content from the staff belonging to the place in question, while leaving the widest choice in terms of information to be provided to end users: in addition text content, in fact, is indicated in the music files, videos and web references, ensuring full interactivity and fun.
With an intuitive interface and a mode of operation as simple as the act of taking a picture, the app will appeal to all age groups and the public and can be used to learn and enrich their culture in an easy and fun .
