This podcast app used to work all the time and be very fast with streaming, but it's not the case anymore. It would stop in the middle of a podcast and restart what I was listening to without my pressing any buttons, and the speed of podcsat playback used to be 1 second, now it's 10 minutes... Very dissapointed
Could do with a more comprehensive catalogue but otherwise, fantastic offline functionality, solid design and speedy performance makes it my go-to podcast app.
Very simple but powerful!
Please tell me where the offline settings are at.
Worst
... But can it be possible for the cover to show without the description, I'd like to see the cover image without that black shade and description
Need to add support for online radio (live stream).
I emailed the developer with a problem, within a few days he had an update pushed that should solve the issue. Awesome work, great app!
Very Good
Sorry but this is ridiculous to keep now all episodes as the removed file option has been cancelled. So I am chosen another podcast apli. That is a shame
no ads, simple, perfect podcast app
I usually dont review apps. But this app is awesome! I have tried many apps, all of them had their drawbacks. But this one is great; it is simple to use, and the design is great. I wasn't sure if i should download it at first because it doesn't have many downloads, but it is the best podcast app here.
Best podcast app I have found. Does what you need well, and does not over complicate things with unnecessary features. Very quick developer response and fix to a bug.
Simple and Effective
this app just...works. completely and neatly. the only issue I have is when i delete a podcast, i cant seem to restore it. i reinstalled it because id deleted episode 48 of a podcast and could no longer restore it. otherwise? this has never failed me on any other aspect.
Just switched back to Android, and this app is still one of the best and most simple podcast apps out there. Search has gotten better as well. All the functionality I want and clean and simple layout. Still my favorite!
I set from old to new and even restart the app but nothing changed - I see my podcasts feeds from new to old.
How do I sync my podcasts on different devices or export, so I can import a copy of podcasts to another device? I'm signed in throughput Google plus. Still severely podcasts missing on my Galaxy tab. Worse, only the last played episode is playable from my tablet. Click on an episode and the podcast's picture takes up the whole screen. No episodes to choose from.
files are mixed up with other episodes or music files in the phone. sometimes downloads are not working. now unistalling and looking for a better app.
A few bugs: 1. Moving the podcast location from internal memory to SD card caused the podcast artwork to be disabled and I had empty squares. Had to re-add them to get the art back. 2. The app seems to crash or the player would stop as soon as I move the focus from the app to Home or some other app. This has been a repeated problem. I only seem to be able to play episodes as long as I'm inside the app. Makes multitasking while listening to podcasts harder. :( 3. Needs Episode Sorting (not Podcast sorting).By default podcasts are sorted with latest episodes first, but for many podcasts, I would like for to go through the episodes in a chronological order. That'd be great feature to have. This is one of my favourite apps. Keep at it! :)
Keeps closing. Very annoying. Also why can't the podcast in a series play automatically, or when skipped to?
Restored with Titanium Backup. Podcast Artwork will not download or display
This is by far the best podcast app available for Android. The sheer simplicity of the interface, the way you can sort out your episodes and subscriptions with ease, the adherence to Material design guidelines and stability, make it stand out. But the single fact that this is actually an entirely free app without ads and only an optional donation pack (very reasonable), make it perfect. It's more stable and useful than most paid apps.
This app would be perfect with a manual sort function. Unfortunately, it's my most wanted feature in a podcast player and this podcast app doesn't have it. You have to play the episodes on your list(s) in a predetermined order (date, length, etc.). I want to play the episodes in the order of MY choosing, not in a programmed order that the app let's you pick from.
Just get this app! There is no explanation needed. It is even simpler than Apple's iOS podcast app, but it has more features and is just great! Plus, bonus points for having Night Vale in the screenshots.
No bells and whistles. It downloads podcasts
Clean, simple and functional. Looks like a stock google/AOSP app. Works really well - best podcast app I have found on Android so far! The only thing I don't like is the icon design - would like it to be flat and unshaded.
The app's really good. The only problem is when I accidentally delete an podcast episode and just can't undo this. And I don't know why the app just don't download podcasts episode cover.
No ads, works as it should
I love how I can change the theme. Great job developer.
The best podcast app ever!!!
I've downloaded this app with a few others to choose the best podcasting app. I had been disappointed with Podcast Addict when I lost all my saved files after one of their updates. Now I am fed up with Pocket Casts because the their 'up next' playlist keeps crashing. Well, it's impossible to test Podcast O2 because the search function doesn't work. Whether you search by title or browse their categories, you end up staring at an empty screen until you get an error message. It's a joke. Don't waste your time.
Have a major problem, it don't have a repeat feature to repeat individual episodes please add this feature
Isn't showing video podcasts in the subscription stream.
I won't lie. I like Podcast Addict better but it ate all my phone space and I needed a new app. This is the first I've tried, since I had to break up with PA, that didn't actively suck bowling balls. It's not great but my urge to reconfigure my phone with a hammer has abated some. Better search interface and easier overview and I might upgrade to four stars. The ability to search entire networks definitely would. Big ups for having the choice to download to the SD card. If PA had that we'd still be together
This player is so simple I even forgot what it was called. I like to listen in the car so I want to subscribe and then have episodes downloaded as they are made available. Then they need to play from old to new. This player is the first that does all those things and does them reliably. Other players I spent hours trying to gett hem to work this one was up and running in minutes and apart from clicking play and pause has needed no attention since. The little player on my home screen (and the lock screen) means I have never even needed to start the app. I'd say it was perfect if I could work out how to unsubscribe from podcasts but that's probably me being dumb (it was I worked it out just after and the next day the developer replied as well!).
I finally found (by accident) that by pulling down the blue bar in podcasts view, I can force the downloads (depending on wireless and charger settings). Probably covered somewhere, but couldn't find it explained. So less of a review and more a FYI. I like both the playlist feature and sleep timer. Even the effort to use the headset button is impressive (despite Samsung still riding the "special" bus on this one - 1st world problem?)
A few things I'd work on here but the majority of functions work perfectly.
I started using this app when it was a little more buggier, it's gotten much better and the app is fantastic and very well designed.

it crashes in the middle of playback and often inexplicably starts an episode over. however, all of my biggest problems are with playlists. they're pathetically slow to start an episode in - i almost always have to leave or even close and restart the app - and i find that often two to four episodes are skipped in the middle of an episode for no apparent reason at all. seriously considering moving away.
