С вином и розами я шествовал доселе,
Не привели они меня к желанной цели.
Однако в сторону я не сверну: друзей
Бросать на полпути пристойно ль, в самом деле?

Говорят: "Будут гурии, мед и вино -
Все услады в раю нам вкусить суждено".
Потому я повсюду с любимой и с чашей, -
Ведь в итоге к тому же придем все равно.

День прошел - и о нем позабудь поскорей,
Да и стоит ли завтрашний наших скорбей?
Откровения нет ни в былом, ни в грядущем, -
Мы сегодня живем. Так смотри веселей!

Обещают нам гурий прекрасных в раю,
Но прекраснее та, с кем сегодня я пью.
Издалека лишь бой барабанный приятен, -
Дайте здесь, а посулы я вам подарю.
