neutriNote for Android
Does not recognise .md extensions
Thks for reply Pls add doodling feature and make sure that it is all over (image ,text ,etc) .
Underrated note taking app is underrated.
Thats app that I was looking for. I'm using it in pair with Syncthing. Excellent
Combined with Syncthing, this is exactly what I've been looking for in a notes app. Love it.
Excellent!
Any possibility for multi-repository? I understand that the tree-like folders and subfolders structure could clutter up the navigation. I just need to read files from more than one repository, not the subfolders in the repository. I ask for this because I want to two-way sync the notes with my pc (using folder sync). The notes on my pc are organized in different folders so syncing all of them to one repository/folder just does not make sense. Any suggestion for this?
The best markdown note app.
This was exactly what I was looking for. An android markdown front end for notes, agnostic of the back end sync logic. Kudos to the dev for identifying and coming up with such a polished app. The in-app help and configuration setup is great and the web documentation is phenomenal. Great job!
One of the better markdown editors. And free with no ads? WHAT?
Excellent encoding selected text feature; try with Japanese notes on Nihongo text. Please add option to make note title blank or first line of note (latter for vocab notes) Eg. "if no new nite title, use first word as title ?" Cannot save if failed to enter valid title; cannot edit; does not bring up entry field for a title when save fails for this error condition, yet see title field at time nite created. Failing to see obvious ?? thanx
when I open a note it directly open via editor not viewer. it will better if it open as a readable mode in a viewer then editor(pressing a buttom or swipe)
I'm a huge fan of plain text notetaking. I spend most of my working life in nvALT and TaskPaper on the Mac. I've been looking for a good companion app for my phone and my Chromebook for a long, long time and now I've finally found it in neutriNote. This app is well thought out and well implemented. The developer is responsive to queries via email. I am amazed that it is free so I bought some of the optional add-ons which I don't need in order to support the developer (I use FolderSync to sync my notes to Dropbox as it gives me fine grained control over what to sync). Highly recommended.
Really nice app, though would benefit from split screen preview for tablets.
Too much functionality. I just want to take notes and sync them. This has a kitchen sink of options and extra data formats. Not what I was looking for.
Love this app for taking notes!
It's getting better with active development. Maybe a little request. Can it support .md files as well? The reason is because my desktop app creates markdown documents with md as suffix. Thx in advance for your consideration.
Great app, UI is nice and easy to use. would use it - but i don't need cloud (internet permission), and want encryption. so using something uglier but has what i need. sony z5c, MM6.01
For being such advanced and nice note app, it is a shame it doesnt offer "check list" function
Say goodbye to Evernote. I've just discovered this app and I think I will use it forever and ever! Now... Jokes apart... I'm testing it but it really seems easy much better than the aforementioned Evernote! And plus it uses Latex that it is pure gold for me! (^_-) - - - - - - - - - GOT AN ISSUE! It seems I cannot specify the local repository path. I am using Cyanogenmod 12 on a Galaxy S3 Neo - - - - - - - ISSUE RESOLVED! The app works perfectly fine! Thanks developers, ★★★★★★ stars well deserved ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Love this for markdown notes
It's overall a great app, only issue for me is the inability to break down comma separated tag lists to the individual tags. Re-edit after testing the slowness issue more: I experienced some slowness when opening large notes (eg more than 1000 words) but that was related to the keyboard used (minuum). Switching to another keyboard (fleksy in my case) led to improved performance. So the slowness is not an issue with neutriNote but with the keyboard.
Best Android note taking app so far for me combining local storage, full text search and Markdown support. Very well done!
Dev: Thanks for your reply, but I do not see any "camera" icon after pressing the "insert image" button (only an Album selector for inserting existing images). Am I missing something? --- Great app. it would be really nice to have camera integration and be able to capture photos directly from the app. Note to self: Make sure to select "Auto Save" and "Location Awareness"
Useful for notes that contains math equations and codes. My suggestion: when saving a note it should not prompt me to choose whether to stay or exit. No one want to exit.
So far so good
Wants far too many permissions. Awkward, amateurish interface. Update: I count 7 permissions. The only legitimate ones I see are for SD card access. Camera: 1) take pictures and videos, Location: 2) access precise location (GPS and network-based), Storage: 3) modify or delete the contents of your SD card 4) read the content of your SD card, Other: 5) have full network access 6) run at startup 7) view network connections
Nice app. ****EDIT in Help> Markdown section explains how to change this **** Would be great if the block code had word-warp and more marking (color highlight), also a night theme without so much contrast (dark gray bg - light gray fg)
A list of ideas: hide connector+ icon, open non .txt files, use sd card as a storage, save reading position for files. Thank you.
Really powerful, will probably replace Google Keep for me. Interface is a bit barebones and almost...ugly but the UX is not hindered in any way so I can't take any points off that.
This is a great app (really best of breed) except because it doesn't play that well with external tools (your nix text editor of choice), specially because of the lack of folder support. 6 stars if it were more open and less opinionated.

My go to, and I've used them all in depth. The UI is top-notch, but the metadata functionality sets it apart
Why is this app not rated 5? This what Android is all about!
But please enable .md extension so i can open .md files with the "open with" function in Android!
Where this app beats its competition is in providing support for math equations and code blocks. Also, it was a very good idea to add extra symbols required for markdown over the keyboard. This along with good search and extensions to sync to dropbox make it a very good note taking app as well. But a request: please allow notes to be saved as md instead of txt files.
I was searching over years for a single app which can simultaneously handle structured text and math (in a neat way). This app did it finally..thanks a lot to the developers..all the best...!! Just one question: after exporting a file into, say, html format, I am unable to import the same from the main window. I can see it as file being edited from the main window but clicking on that will directly go to the edit mode. Suppose i am finished with editing a file and now I want to import it. what can I do ?
It would be great if I could set a setting to "Always open in view" mode (the default to open in edit is really focused on editing, sometimes I just want to view). Would also be nice if it supported the .md extension...
Make sure to select "Auto Save" and "Location Awareness"

Very customisable for power users (set your own metadata, unix-like search, custom filters), transparent (stores in plaintext and to a user-accessible folder so you can configure your cloud syncing of choice) and lightweight yet full of features. This is excellent. Some wishes: wrapping really long URLs in preview view (currently long URLs force the horizontal scrollbars), ability to hide the top toolbar while editing. My phone screen is really small, so with the toolbar there's not much display left, and the blue color commands so much attention. Thanks for the amazing markdown/plaintext app! <3
