Offline Map Ecuador for Android
This app is great, but needs offline instructions.. I used it with my S3 on Airplane mode and GPS turned on (doesn't use data). Here's how it works: 1. Make sure your GPS is turned on. 2. type in the city or a city near the location you need to get to, You can also do a street search if you like, but you can only find a street, not a full address 3. When you find that location, hold your finger on that location until another screen pops up, first click "save, this will save it as a waypoint so you can easily find the city again, then hold your finger on the location again and when the screen pops up again, click on "map" give it some time, it is finding your directions. 4. Follow the blue line, it won't give you line by line instructions, but if you follow your progress along the blue line (you can refresh your location by clicking the blue circle) you will know when to turn. 5. Once you are in your city, do a street search or a point of interest search to get closer to your actual destination PS. Make sure to look at the road color, white roads can be old dirt roads which you may want to avoid depending on what type of vehicle you have.
It payed off many times
I have used this map so much on my trip so far. It's very user friendly. My only wish is the search function would work better for finding street names.

Incredibly useful and accurate. I love that it will show you exactly where you are using GPS data. I never get lost! BUT... The search function is pretty much useless and is the only thing preventing this from being a 5 star app. I also wish there was a way I could transfer my saved locations between devices. i.e. a new cell phone.
