About VAG DPF free
VAG DPF free is the free version of the application VAG DPF that show you the most important data related to the DPF particulate filter and its regeneration phases using an ELM327 Bluetooth/WIFI adapter. With this free app you can statically view 3 parameters related to the particulate filter status. This app doesn't use standard OBD2 commands as almost all other apps, it uses directly CAN commands specific of car model and this is the reason why it doesn't work with every car; due to the use of CAN commands, the app needs al least a decent ELM327 adapter (see note below); some users reports correct app working with a 10-15 euro adapter.

ATTENTION!! This app works only with VW group cars (Audi Volkswagen Seat Skoda) that are equipped with engines listed below; for diesel engines not listed is not guaranteed the full compatibility, so if you anyway buy the app, consider that some or all functions couldn't work correctly.

IMPORTANT some of the engines above may be incompatible, it depends on the engine software version.

- Manual update of the parameters

About ELM327 adapters:
Currently on the market you can find a huge list of low cost clone ELM327 adapters using a cloned and simplified version of the ELM327 chip; the use of these adapters with this app may introduce readings errors and also car connection problems or app freezing.
For an optimal use I suggest to buy a good quality adapter like an OBDLink LX (http://www.obdlink.com/) used by me for the application development; the app also works with cheap adapters provided decent quality.

Looks just the app I wanted. Although not listed tried it on an BRD engine (2008 B7 A4 2.0l). This did not work but was very easy to check with this free version. From latest review 2009 A3.. appears that a version for older engines may be available soon. Will this work with the above engine?

This would be a great app for me, I have tried to get it working on my cbab engine but it didn't. My engine isn't listed but thought I would try anyway. Maybe this will be supported soon? I have tried other engine codes but no such luck.

Ideal for testing if the paid app is compatible with your car. Remember to check your engine is one of the types listed. I got it to work with a KW902 ODB adapter, and then went to the paid version for the extra features

Unfortunately doesn't work with audi a3 1.9tdi 2009. :(

Sadly does not seem to work with 2011 Octavia VRS CEGA engine code, I get the error "ECU responds to OBD2 requests but not CAN requests" It's a pity as potentially a great app, can it be updated to offer support for this engine?
