About SnorTrak
Many people snore when they sleep, but may not know it. While loud, frequent snoring could be benign – a condition known as “primary snoring” or simple snoring – it might also be a sign of something more dangerous: obstructive sleep apnea.
SnorTrak records your sleep breathing sounds and sends them to the cloud for analysis and storage. A report is then emailed to advise you about your snoring episodes or to confirm that you do not snore.
How to use:
SnorTrak is simple to use!
Simply plug your phone into its charger, place near your bed, and make sure you’re connected to wifi. Press the SnorTrak record button before going to sleep and the stop button when you awake.
Your sleep breathing sound files are automatically uploaded to the cloud. You will receive an email acknowledging your sound files have been received in good shape and are ready to be analyzed.
Once analyzed (within 24 hours), you will receive an email with your results.
NOTE: You can add multiple users with SnorTrak. Before beginning your session, make sure you have selected the person being tested and place the phone near that person.
What is obstructive sleep apnea?
Obstructive sleep apnea is a medical disorder that occurs when the airway temporarily and repeatedly collapses during sleep, interrupting the flow of oxygen. Undiagnosed, sleep apnea can cause or worsen many other conditions, including high blood pressure, obesity, depression, and erectile dysfunction, and can increase the risk of diabetes, stroke and heart disease.
SnorTrak evaluates sleep breathing sounds for the presence of snoring and diagnoses primary snoring only; it does not diagnose obstructive sleep apnea.
If you snore and you routinely wake up with a headache, frequently feel sleepy during the day, or have other symptoms of obstructive sleep apnea, please consult your doctor.
