হজ্জ্ব একটি আবশ্যকীয় বা ফরয ইবাদত। ইসলামের মূল ৫টি স্তম্ভের ৫ম স্তম্ভ হচ্ছে হজ্জ্ব। হজ্জ্ব শব্দের আভিধানিক অর্থ "ইচ্ছা" বা "সঙ্কল্প" করা। মুসলমানদের জন্য একটি আবশ্যকীয় ইবাদত। শারীরিক ও আর্থিকভাবে সক্ষম প্রত্যেক মুসলমান নর-নারীর জন্য জীবনে একবার হজ্ব সম্পাদন করা ফরয বা আবশ্যিক।
